The little girl in the truck that smiles at Maggie is Clint Eastwood’s daughter.
The actress who plays the mother is very talented. She played a Kentucky organized crime boss who was the main antagonist in a season of the TV show “Justified” (a show about a US Marshal assigned to rural Kentucky). Her performance in that role is amazing.
She's esteemed character actress Margo Martindale!
The mother told Maggie that she lost. But Maggie won, and died a champion. The German opponent was disqualified, and Maggie won by default.
This movie is severely underrated. it won multiple awards and made over 300 million dollars. I am glad that you reacted to it. For some reason reactors dont react to this even though the film is just as emotionally powerful as other stalwarts such as the green mile, shawshank redemption etc.
My Guess Is because the movie Is considered too real. Poverty, crappy families, eutanasia...and that Is because i love it
green mile and shawshank didn't affect me at all. this one shakes me a bit every time. can't think of any other movie that does that. so real, so tragic, so much true life great and terrible

never face a cheater and/or a dirty-fighter

I saw this movie in the theatre when it was in its final week, at 10 pm. Much to my surprise, I was the ONLY ONE in the theatre! My own private showing! LOL
By the way, that little girl with the dog in the pickup truck is Clint Eastwood's real daughter.

A better and more emotional boxing movie than "Rocky", as far as I'm concerned. It cleaned up at the Oscars, the 2nd time Clint and Morgan Freeman bagged the award. Other great films he's also directed/acted are "The Unforgiven", "Gran Torino" "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and "In the Line Of Fire"

So happy you enjoyed Million Dollar Baby, Its one of my favourite Clint Eastwood movies. Clint makes great movies and you can't go wrong with anyone you choose. Two of my other favourites is American Sniper with Bradley Cooper and The Bridges of Madison County with Meryl Streep.
agreed, however he’s a much better director than actor. Grand Torino was a very boring movie, but still good regardless. Him and Sean Connery should’ve done a movie together.

If you read, this movie comes from a book of 4 short stories. All the stories are good. Written by the actual boxing trainer. The book is called Rope Burns: Stories From The Corner by F X Toole. Great read.
The young boxer that gets severely beaten at the gym is Jay Baruchel. He’s a very talented Canadian actor and has had some big success in comedy. He also wrote and directed a movie that he did for his love of the topic (a real life hockey player story) and it turned out to be a very successful indie film. It’s called Goon.

She 's a 3 times kickboxing world champion and 2 times boxing world Champion. She's 56 now ans lives in Los Angeles.

This was a good movie, but yeah very sad and did have an unexpected ending - I recall being pretty surprised when I first saw it in theaters, Clint Eastwood puts a lot of heart into his movies. ❤️💔

I am very active on my Patreon where I upload at least 3 times a week and we are also watching shows like The Prisoner, The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica.

To be honest, this is not my favorite Clint Eastwood film. Except for Morgan Freeman's wise, old character, everyone else was acting too broadly without many subtleties. Clint's best overall performance was in "Unforgiven" where he reprises his famous "Man With No Name" character from the classic Sergio Leone "spaghetti westerns" as an older man trying to escape his wicked past. Morgan Freeman co-starred with Clint in this film too.
That’s not their acting. That’s clint. He’s a very on the nose actor/director. Even when he thinks he’s being clever, his directing beats home a point til it’s dead and has bright lights pointing right at it. It all has a purpose but it isn’t subtle for the audience to witness. His broad characters are just part of all the broad stark distinctly seperate but related strokes he makes in filmmaking.
Can you tell I’m no fan ? I have respect where it’s due but he’s not exactly amazing at anything.

Hi Che! Long time! Every Clint Eastwood movie is a great movie. This won best picture. Clint won best director, Morgan Freeman won best supporting actor Hillary Swank won best actress. A great movie with a shocking twist. You should see Mystic Reaver which is a great movie directed by Clint Eastwood. Other great ones are Unforgiving and Absolute Power.

Sorry, but this movie was too sad for me to enjoy fully. American movies are supposed to have a happy ending, aren't they? I agree with the comments that you should react to Gran Torino and Unforgiven. Yes, especially Unforgiven is a masterpiece with a unique score, but if you like to see a handsome young Clint Eastwood, watch Sergio Leone's Dollar Trilogy. Enjoy! Thanks!

Someone gave me this movie a while back. Clint Eastwood is a great director, so I figured that I'd like it. I can honestly say that it was the worst movie I've ever seen. There was no point, except "Life f*cks you, and when you think it's over it f*cks you some more." It had no redeeming qualities. None whatsoever. I can't believe it won an Oscar. I was so disgusted after I watched it, I threw it right into the trash.
Wow... I really enjoyed the movie. Yes it's not a happy film, but the acting was great. Of course there is nothing wrong with not liking a film.
