You are doin’ just fine son, while using a hand saw. I admire you using hand tools as much as you do. You do a beautiful job on these lures. If I was your father, I’d be dang proud.
Man it is unbelivable disgusting how good you are in what you do (in a positive meaning for sure). I could watch this videos all the time and i get immediately motivated in doing this by myself. Watching 2 mins and realize how good you are keeps me also motivated to stay away from this and continue buying my lures 🤣
U r a master lure maker! I really enjoy your technique and style as well as your willingness to share your craft!
Big Fan from Quebec. Great work!
Thoroughly entertaining as ever, that tail actions just looks like a slow bream waddling along.
Opening the video was great!
the bait / lure? always special!
congratulations!
Awesome. Thanks for all the step by step .
Excellent Video as always!!!
Robert

I wish I was 1/3 as good as you are! Thanks for all your help, and tight lines my friend!!
Just keep practising and eventual you'll get there.
this is proper art work brilliant man
Wow... Very Nice Work... Great Bait and Video...
unaffordable. . . you are a master
Another world class lure! You really make some of the best I've seen, so much detail. Great job bud, would love to give these a go over here in Australia. Anyways til next time... 🤙
Hello Mikko, greetings from Peru... what an extraordinary video ... I have enjoyed and learn a lot after these 32:58 minutes. Thanks for sharing your amazing work. I would like to have that kind of wood for carving my wooden lures. I liked your sanding technique combined with that vacuum, but I really love the way you carved all details and patience you put on each one. Congratulations for your work. You are a Master...
May I suggest that when you apply the plastic putty onto the tail, you can lick your finger to smooth the putty. Thus smoothing to a beautiful finish and avoiding the knife work and maybe even the sanding chore. If you keep the finger nice and wet, the putty won’t stick and you can get a very smooth surface. We have long used this method for caulking , both silicone and acrylic. Acrylic caulking may actually be a help in making these lures in the right places? Just a thought. Again, nice work. I offer a suggestion, but not a criticism. Your work is excellent as it is.
That's a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
I like the action.
Hi master ,
I love your art ,
You do spectacular art work ,
Wish you the best
heck yeah looks killer
Amazing!
Legendary like the new intro
Great tale action
Шедевр!!! Супер!!!!!!
Great job brother. How can I get one of those molds or even one of those baits? Love your work.
Parabens Pelo seu trabalho esta isca artificial artesanal ficou muito bem feita 🐟👏
Thanks that’s a beautiful bait could you do a video showing a good way to mold the big soft plastic baits with an air pocket inside it so it’s easier to set the hook
I don't currently have a computer to edit videos, so unfortunately right now its not possible.
groovy intro, and the rest of it was dam fine
haha yeah still need to work on it, taught my self last night to animate that. took me roughly 3 hours to make it, i have a new found respect for people that make those, its freaking hard.
lucky for me my brother is animator so it took me three days to nag enough to make mine
Jak zawsze super robota. Mam pytanie. Z jakiego drzewa robisz modele? Znajdę je w Polsce?
Awesome, very creative! What is the material used for pouring the bait itself ? Thanks.
can u make a 10inch glide bait
good video thanks!
What brand of plastisol do you like for your swimbaits?
Love your vids but have some questions though. You pour your baits. No injection. Can you make a vid about that because I also make my own baits for years and even with an injector I get air bubbles. I don't understand how you manage those fins to get completely bubble free
Hey Solarbaits! Great video again. Which density/tighness of the obomodulan master material do you use? There are a lot of different densities available. Thanks!
the density i have is 502 ( 29lb density)
Hi , another great video. Just curious what kind of spray you coat the master with before you mould it ?
sorry, just read other comments and noticed you use acrylic varnish.
been watching for a while, you inspired me to start making my own glide baits, now that ive started making the actual bait i need an airbrush kit, not sure if any are better than others. which one do you have or would you recommend?
I personally like iwata for the build quality they offer.
私も趣味でハンドメイドをしており 何時も参考にさせて頂いております。👍
When would you use the "injection" mold technique over the technique you use (pouring straight into mold)?
well for this one i use do the filling in 2 stages, first i pour 4/5 of the mold full and then inject the rest so that i get the tail filled out perfectly
Hi Mikko and compliments for this spectacular achievement. I would like to ask you for information on the material used for mastering. I have seen that you have written in particular about obomodulan, from what I understand it is a polyurethane foam board. Can I ask you what density do you prefer? Thank you
i've only used just one kind of obmodulan so i cant really say its what i prefer since i have not used anything else, its just what i happen to get my hands on and its the 502 ( 29lb density)
agree with Paul - intro was sick and the rest was amazing - do they have fish carving shows where you are M? over here they have bird and fish carving shows and the national championship pays serious money for the top 3 in the pro categories. you could do very well in these competitive shows im sure.
We do have an anual national lure making competition here in Finland too and i did enter into it once in 2015 i think, won my gategory but after that i really did not have any interest in entering anymore as the stuff they offer for prices dont really interest me
How much do you charge for a mold?
You are best my firend what kind of wood do you use?
the material list used in the video is in the discription box
A quick question. If you were to make a hollow in the back of the tail instead of it being flat would that make the tail action better or worse?
Great vid as usual.
i got to be honest, i dont really know for sure but im guessing it will have a very minimal effect on the action
SolarBaits Any mileage in doing a test/comparison?
Hmm on a smaller lure that might be doable but a big lure such as this the cost of mold silicone would be rather high when you start experimenting and unfortunately I'm not loaded with cash.
Like your videos the fishing part should be longer so we can see if it works
If you Check out my newer videos, there the fishing part is much longer than in these old ones
What kind of wood are you using for your baits?
any i can get my hands on :D but usually its maple or birch sometimes balsa depends really what im making
Hey Solarbaits, what Epoxy do you use for your Masters? or do you print them?
greetings!
Dominic Claus I don't use epoxy for my masters, I use acrylic varnish
Thank you very much!
Hi. What kind of silicone do you use for the casting of the swimbait.
You must mean plastisol?
@@SolarfallBaitsDа
Film Cool! ;)
How did you model the wood?
do you mean the intro?
See the picture. It looks like polished or varnished.

Do you sell these ?
would you sell me one of those
hello ! where did you buy obomodulan materials?
i actually did not buy it, a friend of mine gave me some, He got it thru some company in germany.
could you possibly or would you like to send it to me? Would it be possible? it would be cool to try that material. :)
Great video, I would love to make one of these but I am rubbish at the drawing template part. Do you have a pdf version of the template you used to share or sell to me?
look forward to the next video
Unfortunately every master i make the templates i use on them get destroyed while i make them. You are probably more capable than you think, you dont loose anything from trying out this yourself and designing things on your own.
Hi I wanted to see if I could speak to you privately about an I idea I have? What’s the best way to speak to you?
Maybe slide into my dm's at instagram, i have the link to my in my youtube profile
Hi can I order this mold from you ? Just quick quote ?
i dont sell my molds or designs
what is the name of this music?
i honestly dont remember its from youtubes own music archive
would you sell me one more of those
Sorry but currently im not selling anything as im on vacation.
Underwater footage of action would be stellar !
sure it would be neat but i dont think it would offer anything new that you dont already see on the video
how much is the obomodulan master material
no clue, i got it for free from a friend of mine
thanks for replying
As far as i know Obomodulan is only sold to companies but there are other equelevant products like sikablock that should be very similar as a model material. its not very expensive www.modulor.de/en/sikablock-pur-m600-modeling-board.html
thank you so much
Hello, I have a series on my channel called "What to watch Wednesdays" where I feature a playlist of videos from other youtubers who I have either learned from, been inspired by, or entertained by. This week's topic is all about hand crafted baits and lures. Would you mind if I add this video to this week's playlist?
EatnLunch sure go right ahead
Great, thanks so much. Feel free to check it out tomorrow (Wednesday) if you want to see the playlist. Lots of cool lure making channels out there, though you're probably already familiar with them, I guess. Anyway, thanks again.
Thanks again for participating. FYI, in case you're interested, here's a link to the video where I feature the playlist: goo.gl/E5DXvS
