The amount of death and gory details always surprises me. Especially with kits deaths. And the mature nature of some of the relationships, like Ivypool and Twigbranch not ready to be mothers but feeling pressured by their mates. And the divorce vibes from Crowfeather and Nightcloud which they handled super well. Also A LOT of insanely manipulative characters like Tigerstar I and Ashfur that go deep and really fuck up other cat's heads. Not to mention Shadowsight's depression after everything was over, and the sense of loss they go into with each mourning cat like they did with Rootspring. Kids would not fully understand much of this.
I UNDERSTAND IT AND IM 10!!
I understood a lot of it too, but some stuff goes over a kid's head
When I was 6 I understood this in the books... Am I okay? Well I do have trauma sooo..

It’s the most horrific book hiding as a kids book because the characters are cats and I love it!!!
Read it at 5 didn't scare me actually not a atom
If the cats were humans, it would be a different story, and if it was about WW2 then it would get bloody
Imagine watching WW2 at 13 cuz I'm that guy
Let´s do a lil recap:
1). Bluestar slowly loosing her metal health and becoming slowly more insane by the day, with a lack of trust and ready to strike, all caused by her miserable life and many betrayals, she became the slim fraction of the cat she once was.
2). Swiftpaw and Brightheart being brutally mauled by dogs in hopes of achieving a goal one of them woul actually reach, one of them being mauled till death while fighting for his and Brightheart´s life, the other missing half of their face , developing trauma and many insecurities, thinking she will never be good enough
3). A small deaf child being swooped away by a hawk as he screeches and screams, while his mother tries to desperately get him back and save him from certain death, she failed
4). A cat slowly dying from smoke inhalation in a forest fire, being trapped with no exit, alone with an elder in her attempts of saving her and his life, she faile and she died, her death was described with detail, her last words inspriring and welcoming
5). A cat being gutted alive and as he was a clan leader he had to re-live his death 9 times over as he slowly bled on the floor, everyone watching as he died, blood gurgling out of the massive wound as his face is filled with an expression of pure terror and pain
6). An apprentice being brutally murdered and his throat slit open infront of his clan and family, his family being powerless and unable to save him as he suffered and died, he was set as an example of what would happen to the "disobidient" cats
7). An elderly cat fighting the best he could in what he knew would be his last battle, he is described with and expression reflecting excrutiating pain, his white fur completely red as his blood poured as he slowly suffered.
8). A cat being accidentally killed in a territorial scuffle by being thrown off the gorge by Graystripe, we see the emotional effects this had on Graystripe
9). A cat being swarmed and overpowered by a mob of apprentices, he died a painful death as the young cats murdered him
10). Ravenpaw feeling powerless and being in a state of shock for months after witnessing Tigerclaw murdering and treasoning Redtail, he knows Tigerclaw is after him so he´ll keep his mouth shut
Many cats died like this, these are just from the first arc and there was more, I´m just mentioning a few

One blow to his shoulder unbalanced Tigerstar. He fell on his side, exposing his belly, and Scourge's vicious claws sank into his throat. Blood welled out as the smaller cat ripped him down to the tail with a single slash.
A desperate scream of fury erupted from Tigerstar, then broke out with a ghastly choking sound. His body convulsed, limbs and tail flailing. For a heartbeat a stillness settled over him, and Firestar knew he was falling into the trance of a leader who loses a life, to wake after a little while restored to strength and with the rest of his lives intact.
But not even StarClan could heal this terrible wound. Scourge stood back and watched coldly as Tigerstar's body convulsed again. The dark red blood kept flowing, spreading across the ground in a ceaseless tide. Tigerstar let out another shriek; Firestar wanted to cover his ears so he didn't have to listen anymore, but he was frozen to the spot.
Again the massive tabby's body grew still for a heartbeat, but again the wound was too terrible to yield to the healing trance. Another spasm siezed Tigerstar's body. His claws tore up clumps of grass in his agony, while his screeches turned from fury to terror.
"He's dying nine times," Firestar realized. "Oh StarClan, no..."

If WARROR CATS was a movie, it would be rated at something well over PG-13. In fact, there is so much violence, blood, severed limbs, escaped eyeballs, decapitations, and outright carnage that it actually flies right past gross and into the realm of humorously ludicrous.

Warriors is a great seires for kids because it teaches them to not be over sensitive to themes like blood or gore ect. You'd be suprised on how many young warriors fans (not saying to show the books to like 5 year old or something) kids can handle more mature themes than people say I feel like warriors doesnt have a “age rage“ i feel like it should only read it if you can handle it for example if your a parent if you child can handle it then let them read it
Especially since your not actually seeing it. Your just reading it!! It probably is a good way to desensitize kids without scaring them. (Hopefully)
I agree.
Well, I'd say that it should only be read by about 9 or 10 year old people or older. Anyone younger shouldn't be allowed to read it. Younger children often won't understand that they can't handle it, so unless the parent gives permission, the kids should never read it. I do mostly agree with your thought, that is, if you aren't talking about kids as in like 7 years old or under.
I finished the first series (I’m teen) and I can confirm that it has some pretty gruesome descriptions👍

In my opinion, Warriors is a great series. Although there is a sillier side to the fandom, there is an insanely dark, violent side as well. I, personally, think the depictions of intense carnage can be fine for SOME kids, depending on their threshold for blood and violence.
Not only is there gory/bloody parts that MAY make the series unsuitable for children, there is also many detailed depictions of abuse, manipulation, mental health issues, extreme amounts of loss and mourning, and more. Warriors is a wonderful series but it is for a very specific audience.
Yass :)

I think Warrior cats is a great typical literature work.We could see many kinds of classic stories. For example,Bramblestar and Squirrelflight just like Romeo and Juliet.
Warriors is a great history of cats. And we can also see human's history in this work.
GrayStripe and Silverstream was like Romeo and Juliet as well!!!
I’ve seen kids that watch stuff with blood and gore so not all kids can’t watch warrior cats because sometimes parents alow their children to watch those type of shows, it’s like how my 8 year old cousin watches demon slayer
I tried to read it when I was like 9/10 and I couldn’t really comprehend it, but i’m 12, almost 13 now and Warriors is such a good series! It honestly has a lot of great detail, descriptive words, and complex family lines (I seriously can’t keep track of who’s related to who) that I’m surprised some younger kids can read it. In my local library, the books are Young Adult (except the graphic novels) which I like because I don’t really think 3rd graders can understand it, contrary to the reading level. (Sorry if you can and are, not meaning to be offensive) There’s highly descriptive battles/blood/gore, sorrow, manipulation, etc. though some might think it’s below me, it’s probably the best series I’ve ever read, though there is a ton of books and it’s almost impossible to find the right order including all of the super editions, novellas, and graphic novels. (I don’t read the field guides much.) You never know until you read it, and your opinion might change.
