    H/H match update:
After only a couple of weeks, the "new rule" for selecting H/H match celebs has been discarded, and I doubt many will lament its passing. Gene abruptly informs us today that they've gone back to the "old rule," and now the returning champion may select whomever she wishes. She wishes to choose Richard again! This time it doesn't work out for her, but it's hard to blame Richard for not matching the contestant's obscure reference...
(Note: the contestant says she matches Richard at home, so that's a legitimate reason to choose him. Sometimes though I get the feeling some contestants simply choose him because everyone else does.)
We also have a second H/H match with a second contestant who likewise chooses Richard and likewise fails to match him...
Here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    Orson Bean - 100% (3 wins in 3 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts).
TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    TIE: Betty - 50% (15 wins in 30 attempts).
    TIE: Fannie - 50% (8 wins in 16 attempts).
    Charles - 45.7% (16 wins in 35 attempts).
Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Brett - 37.8% (14 wins in 37 attempts).
    Richard - 37.0% (95 wins in 257 attempts).
    Bert - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
*These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 483, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")

    • @kevansf
      @kevansf Před 2 lety +1

Yes, the rule seemed arbitrary and a little silly. But in its very brief existence, it did give Brett the chance to make two matches in the head-to-head question.
I'm actually looking forward to the celebrity wheel because I'd like to see more and different celebs have a chance to participate in the head-to-head match. It seems silly that everyone picks the same celeb when his success rate is actually lower than some of the others, although I give the first champion today some credit because she said she picked RD because she always matches him at home.
By the way, I believe this was the first time in Match Game history that a celebrity has blown the head-to-head match twice in one program (but with two different contestants, so the rule wouldn't have applied anyway).

Yes she is. :) I met her few years back at Chiller’s Theatre Expo. One of the nicest actress I ever met. She was very smart, down to earth, humble, and deep thinker when we talked for only an hour. It was amazing.

Yes, you can. Lots of colleges and universities offer it. It's mostly called "family sciences", "consumer sciences", or "family and consumer sciences" now. It covers fashion, child development, housing and interior design, culinary arts, nutrition and wellness, family relations, and financial management.

Geesh, I hate it when Richard (Gene too) make such a big deal about a big chested woman. The women wear tight blouses/sweaters then act either shocked or shy and demure about their rude comments. I wonder why Gene is always picking on Nipsey...I fell in love with Nipsey Russel when I was 8 yrs old and told everyone I was going to marry him when I grew up :) I read somewhere that he never married.

Heddy made it much too easy for Marty to win, I think she's a natural blonde from the answers she gave. But I digress because Marty isn't very dumb. And I thought dawsons jokes couldn't get any dumber
