Sado, the island of exile - New Territories

- New Territories is a experimental journal that follows artist Charles Munka as he wanders through Japan, after spending ten years in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
In December 2017, Charles Munka left his Tokyo studio to embark on a series of artistic residencies on six islands across Japan where he seeks to discover and express the identity of these locations.
A work is created on each island inspired by its materials, places and faces.

それぞれの島にて、その環境、文化、そして素材からインスパイアされた作品を仕上げていく。

We changed the name to Archipel as we wanted to expand our content beyond toco toco. The toco toco name remains with the series so you’ll still get to see it and its logo!
