Good to see him back on the horse
Agreed!
That Studi is looking great and running strong, and the same thing for your dad! I expect your Dad wouldn't go for this But... You have a beautiful Studebaker and a Caddy motor, Why not a studillac? Bet it'd be the Only one....
Was going to say the same thing!
First time back and you're out there cutting down trees like Paul Bunyon. Hell Yeah, Andrew !!
Dallas is a good friend, he has helped me out in ways that meant a lot to me. Last year he loaned ne his trailer so I could get my GTO out of storage in TX and finally bring it home to Tennessee after 3 years of it being atuck there. Then last January a guy drove over the double line and nailed me head on in my truck, the accident killed my dog, my only living companion for the last three years, Dallas and I had very similar trucks, white OBS F250 reg cab long beds with 351w and 5 speed manuals (mine was a '97), sold me his prized '94 that he had heavily built with a 393 stroker, AFR heads, long tubes, lightning intake, lightning seats and tons more stuff that he spend 100s of hours working on for an extremely fair price. He was in a bind because of personal problems. He's an incredible guy, a fellow Veteran, an encyclopedia of Buick knowledge. A very classy Gentlemen.
Wow.... Sorry you had to go through all that, but I'm glad people like Dallas are out there to help people get up when they fall down.
@@Calvin-Nelsonthat's one of the best things about the car community, there are usually friends there to help a guy out if he has a legitimate need and it's something they can do. That's what keeps me coming back and in touch with people. The friendships, going fast, sharing knowledge and the love of the hobby. Thank you for making your videos, they've helped me during tough times too when I needed something to watch and I 've learned things too.
Calvin, your Dad's fist pump caught by the in car camera was great to see! ❤
5 deployments. Holy cow. Thanks for service sir..
Welcome back, Papa Nivlac57!! I’m looking forward to this channel’s 2024 content. 😊
So good to see your Dad racing again, to do so well the first time out. Heartwarming to see your friend receive that award. Thanks for sharing.
Glad to see your dad racing, Dallas definitely deserved the award!!
Galvin Nelson family
May have awesome 2024
May God bless you and family
Really cool to see your dad ripping down the track and telling jokes. Pumped for you both to continue doing what you love to do. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks a bunch!
Back in the saddle again! I’m so happy that he is able to continue doing what he loves to do. Car looks good, the rear end looks a little bouncy, but I’m sure you’ll get it worked out
Yeah. Need different tires and possibly shocks.
Great video, nice to see your Dad getting back at it and even having some success🤘🤘🤘
Congrats to Dallas too and best of luck to him with whatever he's facing next. Stay strong sir and thank you for your service!
Looked & sounded great at the NNN. Fun weekend !!!
Great Content 😊 Glad to your dad back in the saddle again 👍🏼🤙🏼🖖🏼
Thanks Calvin..you & your family are a class act. That last little bit really hit me in the feels..I'm building my car in a storage unit as well, but the electricity comes from a power inverter in my truck, lol. It comes home to the driveway for the times it needs serious amperage..and it's been a struggle for the past two years.
Your channel is one of the diversions that keeps a fella from going postal when progress is slow.
Hope to meet you guys someday.
That car ran great, I enjoyed watching it from under the purple canopy that can be seen in almost every pass 😁
Great job, can't win everything all the time, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Dad did a great job and has a sweet ride!
Thanks for sharing. good to see him out there racing again.
Great job! Glad to see dad killin' it in that Stude. Love the old school straight axle gasser style cars.
That studebaker is cool little hotrod!
gale banks raced and owned one might even be his former vin 🤔 ? as both were set up for bonniville/salt
Nice one Calvin, great advice at the top end there mate. ✌🇦🇺
Glad Dad is back!!
I was wondering about the porpoising but I see you answered it.
I have a 53 Champion hardtop with a transplanted 63 lark 259.
Convoluted history, it was a Hamilton car, still can’t decode the vin but the engine is out of a US car.
Had one when I was 24.
Just got this one.
Now I’m 70 lol
Best to everyone. It’s really great to watch a family that’s a family doing honourable things.
J in frigid Montreal.
I really enjoy you vids mate...Cheers from Downunder..
I just love the way you call your dad,, Dad,, Not the old man,, it shows a deep respect that is much lost in todays world... Just love all your stuff... Eddie Australia.
Yeah. "Old man" seems to have a certain tone of disrespect. Thanks.
This is awesome brother!!! PAPA Nivlac got back on that horse. And that horse kicks like friggin mule. My hats off to you sir. It's not easy to get back behind the wheel after a bad accident.
That is such a beautiful setup!
Great video. Last 40 seconds are important and completely true for all to!
Duval county native here, Jacksonville boys have alot of heart. ❤️
That labor of love brought us all here to your fam . Congrats! Maybe next year I will make it out there with the ole grocery getter. Great video. Cant wait to shake your hands, and laugh a little bit.
I've been a Studebaker guy all my life, your 54 is a nice piece.Love it!
Dad gave no chance to the MOPARs. That's nice to see in so many different ways 🙌
I love this body design, looks somewhat modern even for today's standards. The T-bird, not just the car you awarded, but this specific generation in general, also looks so good.
Back in the saddle! Well done, Andrew. 👍
Wise words for difficult times, we need that
Glad to see you and dad having fun
Dad was nailing those shifts
His reaction time was very consistent too. He just wasn't getting a consistent race surface.
Such a beautiful old car, can't say I have seen anything quite like it.
Awesome good see your dad back behind the wheel
Awesome to see him back out
For some dumb reason, youtube isn't letting me give you guys a thumbs up(???) Only a "thumbs down" option was under the video. But I give You Guys a Thumbs up for You video, and I'm glad to see you guys back at it!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Congrats on a great outing !
Very happy to see Dad out there again 💪
Glad he's back in the saddle. Hope to see y'all on a drag-and-drive or Power Tour this year.👍👍
I'll say super great outing for your dad yes indeed ...and yes it's all about keeping your head up....🙂👍🙏
Love the '54 Stude!
Great work dad!
Nice car! I see the Punisher Lemans was pretty quick.
He won because of the headlights 😂, glad to see him back
Great job racing! Realky like Dallas also!
Yeah, back in the saddle. Go dad!
Great video, camera work, and message. Keep up the good work guys! 🤜
Cool Deal guys and Great ending statement!
Excellent work. What an honor best engineered. 👋👋👋🎉🎉🎉 and thanks for the end there Calvin
Very honored to be considered for the Best Engineered award, but I believe you gave it
to a person who really deserved it!
That roadster is super cool. Awesome job!
@@Calvin-Nelson by the way, Calvin, you were right about that radiator hose rubbing. It rubbed through after just one run!
I was at Sick Week, SGMP also when it happened.
Good to see you back. If you're coming again this year, I will see you in 3 weeks.
Didn't sign up for Sick Week. Thought more surgery was required. We did sign up for Sick Summer.
Unfortunately, we're going to have to miss this year. Have a good time!
Such is our future determined by our present...
Calvin, nice recap and update! Glad for Dallas to be recognized. Btw- I would let your Dad engineer my bathroom, as long as there was a trans brake on the flush valve☺
I helped build that Freightliner dealership in Sikeston.
Nice!! That's awesome
so awesome to see him back at it!
Happy to see dad out there again another good video Calvin 👍
Glad to see him making rounds again, i was watching the light and didnt expect it to turn red
Glad to see dad back racing. I know after a wreck it's sometimes hard to get over. I really like the way that car sits. Cool stance. It doesn't really look like a full gasser.
The Studebaker is the best looking car there from a purely aesthetic standpoint. Shes a bute!
Lovely car, love it!!!!
Best of luck to dallas & what he has gpong on.
Awesome to see your dad in the captains chair again.
Heck yes
nice build
I like that Stude...
Great camera work, by the way.
Riviting acceptance speech Dallas. Glad to see Andy walking around healing well
Woah, you get together at my local track, but this is the first time I've heard of it! You've got a shop here if you ever need it, I'm about an 40 mins north of sikeston.
Thanks!!
Time for a four link lol
❤️
good to see him back. car looked bouncy, do the shocks have rebound adjustments?
I think it just needs different tires. The ones that are on the car are stiff sidewall slicks.
Just letting you know that CZcams has been unsubscribing people from various channels. I didn’t even realize that I had been unsubscribed to this channel until today. I’ve heard others say that they too have been unsubscribed from various channels.
I noticed the Stude had a little bounce in the rear. How would you fix that? A little less psi?
I think it's the stiff sidewall slicks that are on the car, or maybe the shocks. Dad thinks it is a lack of power, or the traction bars need to be longer.
@@Calvin-Nelson I would agree with you. Don't know much about drag cars, I am building a 68 American as my first classic but I don't know if I want to go road car or drag car with it yet. But the bounce doesn't look like chassis movement, probably wrong though. Glad to see he that not only is he rolling again, but he is still sharp on the tree. He hasn't gotten rusty. Has he been slipping stoplight practice in when no one was looking?
Glad to see you Dad back racing again . Was Dallas's car the Thunderbird or the car with the Flathead engine ?
His car was the Thunderbird
@@Calvin-Nelson Okay , I do like the Studebaker. Me being from Indiana, they were manufactured in South Bend Indiana . Others in Indiana were Auburn, Cole, Cord, Duesenberg, Marmon and Stutz .
Kind of looks like the 1960s Karmann Ghia. Go Bond, go!
So sorry to steal the post but can a guy use a 06 head on a 05 engine?
Yes
Does Dallas have a YT channel or Instagram or anything? Also, was that Dirt Floor Fab in the first round?
Yes he does. Here is Dallas. youtube.com/@mr.roddersneighborhood2740?si=xEU2cmvKT4yqyx8e
Not sure if that was Dirt Floor Fab
What is the 28x10.5 mean?
10.5 im guessing is tire size but what is the 28?
28 is height of the tire. 10.5 is width at the tread
@Calvin-Nelson Gotch ya. I was leaning toward the hight but wasn't sure. Thank you
@@2dogsmowing no problem
LOOSE steering wheel? Or just how it looks
No. Car has a steering box. Maybe you are used to a steering rack. Steering boxes have a little play.
Hey , I remember that. I`m sending you this message to let you know that I know of the whereabouts of a Volvo very much like the one that got wrecked. Let me know if you are interested.
Sorry. Not interested. We learned a lot from that car. One of the things we learned is the car was a bad choice for us.
@@Calvin-Nelson
I understand.
Thanks to the great video keeps me inspired I can't build cars or race anymore but I enjoy your videos have a great day
