Bof is the exact reason most solo players can’t rank up. He has the individual skill to be higher but he plays like a pub stomper. He’s the type of guy in a Diamond lobby that tries to solo push every fight and blames his teammates for his mistakes.
He’s a damn good skilled player though.

Can’t always be 100% all the time. He was also using questionable guns like the pk and Eva8 when they’re not exactly meta for time to kill

I think it's the idea of knowing you're better that overclouds the judgement to work with the team. I've seen it countless times, and I've also been that player sometimes when I get super frustrated with passive players. But I've found much more success in RP gain when I just play off of my teammates (even if it means being bored to death lol). Also, I miss shots a lot of the time, I can't play doors very well (or knockdown shields) and I often forget to reload my gun haha But at least I know I try my best to be a good teammate. If I can have a good game and win with my full squad alive and we all have kills/assists I will be happy.
I view ranked as a way to help one another meet a similar goal, which is to earn RP.
I got a friend just like this who has good aim and movement but is still hard stuck diamond, he just has terrible decision making but blames his teammates all the time or makes excuses when he dies

Honestly though, most pred players who dominate play with 3 stacks. If he had 2 other preds to play with, I'm sure he could shine. In solo q, you have to play super intelligent because your teammates aren't good

Coming from a pred player, movement really doesn’t matter when you have a full team shooting you in a 3v3. Might help you clutch a 1v1 or a 1v2 but aim and decision making is 100% more effective.

Timmy talked about this in his solo pred 55 hour livestream clips. In high diamond it becomes about learning how to play off of and with your teammates. I didn't even watch the video because the test proves nothing except he can win his 1v1's. He doesn't have bad teammates but he just doesn't play off his teammates.
The test kinda proves something btw, to a certain degree. How many times have you heard golds complaining about how they deserve diamond/masters just to get BEAMED in a video like this? Exactly, every single time. I kinda clicked because I thought it would be funny watching him get killed over and over again.
This video shows that mechanically he could get pred, but it's probably his gamesense that's holding him back.

He's got good movement. I have solo queued to Diamond very often. I have some movement, but not to this level. I think people often forget that movement isin't everything, but your placement and aim is just as important. I'm also very confident that if I was playing with a team that was playing every day and grinded the game. I could make Masters/Pred too, but again. So would a lot of people.

I make more progress when i go solo instead of play with a pre made team, i soloed my way to diamond many times lol, but with a pre made squad, i cant even make progress, it's just my experience tho

As a movement player, aim and positioning is MUCH more important, movement is just a flashy bonus.
movement is almost everything. Did you sow how BOF lietaraly fried predator brain with his movement at 10:50 ? With movement you are more fluid and hard to hit. I dont use scripts and dont use any movement techniques. Look at your gameplay and tell he mow many times you utilize super long jumps, straifing and other. Anything that go beyond normal jumping and running would be not allowed.
@@Craft97pl I disagree. Movement is not everything. It is very important. I do all the movement techniques without any scripts, but AIM is very very important. A lot more important than insane movement techniques.

I think most people overestimate themselves. I know I sure did. I even tried to make a play for competitive with a team of other similar players. The thing is: if I can't even make it to Masters on my own, how can I expect to even pass half of the challenger circuit?
Movement and Aim are good. Obviously you want to have those, but decision making and communication is what you want above all else.
Remember that nick mercs is a pro/pred player and has worse mechanics/game sense than the average masters roller player. I’ve seen diamonds shit on him before. Hell he’s been doing rookie to masters and dying like crazy there.
He averages 150 damage per scrim match.
I’m sure you could pass half the challenger circuit with the right team.

Pred here. Been that way since season 2. He's good, very good, in movement. He is the type of diamond that would push stuff mindlessly. His aim isn't nearly good enough to be pred. And in Pred, teamwork and good aim reign above all.

That’s what I noticed he struggled with the wingman/aim challenge. We all have weaknesses but he deserves Predator if he can improve his awareness and help out his teammates more.

For aim yes. But this shows up 0% of how smart he is at playing in a team. Which these days, you don't get pred unless you do know how to do so.
I mean I feel like 1v1 is a part of skill but 3v3s as well being able to communicate with a team so maybe 3v3 could be cool where he faces like a team of 3 preds/master and he has 2 master/preds I know it can be hard tho finding the people so 1v1s are also totally cool

I don't think he is. The reason I say that is no pred players play like this. Relying on movement doesn't get you passed diamond because peoples aim outplays your movement. Similarly you can't wall bounce into a pk shot on me when your 60m out and I'm holding you on a head glitch with a flatline. People like this guy think that because they can dunk on players super hard in streamer building that they should be a high rank but that style of play stops working fairly quickly in ranked tbh. One of my favourite apex clips is lemonhead doing some crazy octane movement in imperialhals face and hal literally just stands still beams him in his neo strafe looks at the box and goes lemonhead you fuckin idiot. You can hear the soundbyte at the end of one of lemonheads vids it's great.
So what I’ve learnt is if it’s a straight 1 on 1, the masters/pred will win. And if there’s buildings and environment to utilise and zip around, the diamond seems to win.
I’m taking into account that Wattson needs a level of IQ to play which is probably why he’s so good at moving and repositioning.
Game sense and learning to slow down when needed is good I was a ps pred this split then lost it after boosters lol

Really good pub stomper, but if you wanted to see if he had what it takes to be pred, you should’ve put him in a pred stack for a few games to see if he backs it up. I’m masters and I regularly win 1v1 or 1v2 against preds, not being anywhere near being pred in terms of placement and decision making consistency
I can’t understand why people keep ignoring the fact that individual skill is why most players are selected for teams. Their ability to do everything. Their individual skill. So pub stomper or nahh. Changing the environment won’t make much of a difference if he has a team that’s just as good as he is or better. Why because he doesn’t have to worry about them getting knocked.

I need to learn what drills to do to practice getting movement like that. Sometimes it clicks but sometimes it doesn’t and I just need some drills to practice to smooth it all out. Really want to work towards his level of movement.

@Birno, I think you could help more players like this by using your platform to try to find teammates for people like this/match them with other good players you find. I'm sure there are many high level players out there looking for a good teammate, but the usual LFG servers are filled with bronze to diamond players all claiming to be good enough for pred, it's so draining having to give everyone a chance just to realise it's another bot with an inflated ego who doesn't know their place.

He is extremely good no doubt about that, but apex has so much more to it then just movement abilities. He's probably lacking in rotation strategies and decision making knowing when the engage in a fight and when to disengage. I can't find any other explanation for him not to reach at least to master

I love the different play styles- BoF displays a war of attrition type player- expending the enemies resources in exchange for a lack of aim. Most preds don’t learn movement like this, so their only option is kovaaks practice and raw aim skill. However in a pred lobby raw aim is most certainly the more important skill. Movement like BoF’s is simply unnecessary and the firing range 1v1 between him and the pred proved that. That’s not to take away from the talent and skill it takes to have movement like his… it’s far more entertaining to watch than normal ranked play.
Ranked is all about strategy, execution aim and comms.
What bof is showing here is a talent for solo play, which is the opposite of what one needs to play in ranked. If he can find a middle ground between the two, he would be a nasty pred

although i would have liked to see the one v one firerange match against the masters he was somewhat even against the diamond in the aim catagory. prob low masters high diamond aim with pred movement which people in diamond would not be too used to. (it the level he was doing it) since there was not any team stuff in the vid we can't see how he works with a team and if he knows good rotation. he could very well as other comments have said be the guy that makes ranking up for others difficult as he might be that guy that always throws them into every fight when they should not by running in alone.
Master, Pred would be his rank for sure. I know players who play only Public matches and not a single Ranked match and they are so good.

playing with someone close to my skill level comms, good game sense, i gained 1k RP in a night, solo Q over the last 2 down 1k. it’s tough, some teammates really don’t listen if you IGL and comm what’s a bad push or fight, you lose RP rat or 1v3, 1v3 after plat 2 plus is extremely difficult for most players
