Another useful thing to remember if you don't have a filter or drops or a way to boil the water is to get water from as tumultuous a source as possible -- white-water areas. OK, it doesn't have to be Niagara Falls, but waterfalls and fast-moving sources that tumble over rocks are good.
The idea is to drink water that's heavily oxygenated. Rivers that do this purify themselves because the oxygen kills the bacteria. If you're going to camp at a place, you can set up something that pours water into a bucket from a height. You still might filter the water if it's silty, but the water will at least be safe to drink.
Great info on Water Gathering for All... Aquamira drops are 120 QUARTS of water... 30 Gallons... for the 1oz bottle size...
One thing to do in the winter for the Sawyer is to keep it close to your body to keep it warm. It works, just gotta keep the filter warm.
Fun video! Nice conceal carry at 10:10 Kevin, lol!
Interesting subject, I’ve used filter straws before but never thought much more about beyond that.
I do agree having the metal canteen though i have kept my plastic/ruber quart and 2 quart canteen, they can be repaired easily if you have a puncture with some epoxy or weld
Great video...but Kevin....that final clip at the end......your shirt is printing so bad hahaha
Fantastic video. New to the channel and really happy to see content incorporating kids. More please!
I hope you all put out more videos pertaining to the survival tactics for children this was amazing 👏
Great info. Thanks
Great video, thanks!!!
Great video!
Great video also does amber look different in every video or just me?
Thank you very much.
Great video I'll definitely be going over this with my family. Question . . . I'd been trained not to use purification tablets in metal bottles containers. . . Is this accurate?
Dear God,
Please make more women like Amber.
Sincerely,
Men
To Kevin - where did you get your canteen? Hard to find a good quality aluminum version. Seems like milspec these days is plastic. Thanks
I seem to have soiled my trousers!
🎁
This is neat, it's the same way they teach in Marine boot camp
Except for; the pasta would be the bad stuff being filtered out. 🤟
FYI: Sawyer advertises their filters as nearly infinite use. You can reverse the flow with filtered water to clean the filter.
I thought the title was about, Water Boarding the Hell,😈 out of your children. Like an exorcism!
Neat trick: Field purification of children's souls using only water
