  • Follow along as I turn this 30 year old Suburban into a reliable daily driver.
This Suburban is the truck I learned to drive with. My dad bought it with 86,000 miles for $7500 many many years ago. In the years after 9/11 gas prices went way up, so it wasn't a practical car anymore, so dad bought a car for my mom and the Suburban sat in the yard for 12ish years. When my dad passed in 2018, I was given the suburban and decided to bring it back to glory again.

Looking forward to the next video. I have the same suburban. Mine is a GMC tho. Mine sat for 10 or 11 years. The list of repairs and replacements ive done is long. Almost everything. But I love it. Can't wait to see what you do with taillights.

Just bought a 1990 Suburban R2500. Has a few issues with windscreen wiper control, electric windows, cruise control, lock switches, rear door lock, rear head liner and fuel cap. However the 454 still runs sweet, though it's thirsty. Best thing is, only 72k miles on the clock.

1973-1991 generation, not many of them around anymore like there use to be back in those days.

May I just note by the way that it is 2022 now and this suburban still runs great. It needed some front end stuff but the engine and transmission work great. My brother doesn't drive it every day anymore thanks to fuel prices but it does still run great and he uses it for towing despite my offer of using a newer truck. This is why we stick to chevy.

Might have figured it out by now but there is that brass ground strap that needs to be grounded as the motor mounts in rubber bushings

Came across this by accident Love the slight comic commentary. Had an 89 Blazer and I had the muffler cut off and had a straight pipe behind the cats. Great sound esp with the air cleaner cover upside down
