Q&A with Mrs. Wampler Pedals... the real CEO of Wampler Pedals ;)

- Just a note: This is a Q&A, an interesting insight into the spouse's perspective of owning a pedal business. Some of those who like the longer style of videos may like it, but there's no guitar playing on this video. Plenty of guitar discussion though, though from my better half's point of view.
On this special Vlog, we answer some questions from the Tone Group on Facebook ( / wamplerfanpage ) and get Amanda's perspective on the pedal business. For those who may not know, Amanda is most often called "the real CEO of Wampler Pedals" among the staff, and wife of Brian. In short, she helps run much of the business and picks up the slack that Brian leaves hanging around, which can be quite a bit :D

This is genuinely the cutest, most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Gives me faith that love really does exist.
Thanks Colin :)
was that wife of a pedal builder or pedal broker
That's not a very metal thing to say...
I love this video.
And hey, Colin!
@@GrimKage Thankfully not everything on Earth has to be "metal". ;)
You gave her rings made of diodes and she married you? That's Love. She's a saint. Saint Amanda, patron saint of quality guitar pedals.
A woman that thinks having nothing is romantic is 1 in a million
You are both lucky
Wampler you dumped this girl in high-school? WTF were you thinking dude?
+Tioga Fretworks 😂😂
Yay, Amanda, we men can't succeed without our partners support. Glad you are getting some due recognition.
Good people! Makes me even happier to play my Wamplers.
"Behind every successful man is a surprised mother in law!" Cool video! Enjoyed the informal q&a
you can't beat life with a small town girl ... hats off to both of you .
You two make a great team. Here's to continued success to the Wampler Family!
Nice to finally see this part of your life Brian! You are a lovely couple, :) cheers!
Brian, I think you'd have to credit your lovely wife for some of the success of Wampler Pedals. It's clear she helps you keep your life in balance which in turn has helped you grow your business & create the marvelous pedals we love. Thanks Amanda!
+rarch1968 definitely
in case you were wondering what the "can't say on camera" part was for the endearing question, she subliminally answers it @ 16:11
This was great to watch! You’re a lucky man Brian! Congrats to you both for the hard work and much success to the Wampler family!
Great stuff, Wamplers. Nothing more important than family, and in particular one's spouse. Also, there is a LOT to be said for going through the tough times together. You guys are awesome! Best of luck going forward to you and your entire family.
Great video, always good to meet the people behind the people! Amanda seems lovely, and you two clearly have a great chemistry.
6:03 That's one of the sweetest answer ever. It gives a little bit of hope in humanity and love again. I'm glad Amanda and Brian found each other!
+Phil Smith thanks Phil 😊
Once again proving the best of Mankind happens when teamwork happens...You're both appreciated!
This is heart warming. Thank you two for making arguably the best OD’s and Distortion’s on the market. They are a joy
I wish you both the VERY BEST, and to the kids too ! Lots of fun and GREAT HEALTH.
Amen !
Brian and Amanda, thanks so much for doing this! This was so sweet. Love your pedals and your company.
It’s nice to see a couple like you two. You started out with little, worked hard, and smart and have made something special of your lives.
You sir, are a lucky guy. Thanks for the insight and the inspiration. If you're working your own business you're in desperate need of someone who not only understands but who tolerates and supports all the time, effort and love you put in trial, success and, often enough, failure. You seem to have found your soulmate and that's one the best things we humans can achieve in life. That and maybe some guitary-things ;-) Happy Anniversary by the way...
Thank you Thomas :)
Well said, Thomas.
A whole lotta respect for you guys, wishing you all the best!
I think this was the best video you have ever posted! Very inspiring. Also, you guys are probably the cutest couple on this site. Can't wait to see what ya'll come up with next! love your pedals, love your videos.
You guys are awesome! Reminds me of my wife and I. I have a saying that I stole from the late great Justin Wilson (yes, the cajun chef. That Justin Wilson) from one of his comedy albums from back in the late 50's early 60's and it goes like this:
"Behind every great man, stands a woman rolling her eyes."
Many years of happiness to you both!
Great stuff. Always enjoy seeing the people behind a company and learning a little bit about how they came to be where they are.
Loved the video you guys are a lovely couple and it's always good to hear the wife's perspective. Always enjoy your channel!
Love your videos, Brian! Gonna be buying a Tape Echo soon.
But what I love about this video is the inspiration that if you have a dream and a vision, it's never too late. Keep on being awesome, guys!
I appreciate you two opening yourselves up this way. Pretty fun to see the parellels with your relationship and my wife and my relationship. My wife gets on me for my obsessive tendencies as well... life all about balance. :-) it's awesome that you are doing so well and keeping things in perspective. peace.
-”When we married we had nothing”
-”I made you a ring of diodes”
😆😂😆😂
You’re killing me. 😆
This was such a great insight into a family business, it's really apparent how well they work together. Professionally and personally. Guess it's a good recipe for a worldwide enterprise
This is part of America that we often don’t see enough of, small family business success. We need to see more of this rather than all the bad stuff we see and hear about the USA. A great product and all power to you both.
Amanda is absolutely adorable! Do you have any idea how lucky you are Brian?
+Michael Izzo yep
@@TomPark1986 wtf... Chick is way above Brians level. Big score.
Wut ? the opposite yeah.
Brian is a one of a catch. This girl has a face. thats it.
This was really enjoyable to see. The bulk of my pedals are and will be yours, because the depth of your thought process takes pedal creation to different places, which are positive in allowing us to create the sounds which are in our imagination. You both are very aware and centered, which is nice to see that it still exists. I know in my own life how you feel, because I have that same mental outlook. I’m about ready to introduce something to the public that is most likely going to put me in that place of losing my privacy. Your comment about that is so true. I would rather not be in that position, but sometimes we just have to do what we are meant to do, because it’s for a good that is greater than us. From an outsiders viewpoint I don’t think you could be in any better place mentally, than where you both are right now. I think that is the secret to your success. Just saying… Happy Holidays!
Nice to see a happy couple for a change. I wish you a lifetime of happiness :)
Its great to see really nice people being successful and staying really nice. All hard earned and well deserved by the sounds of it.
Super video, thanks for this! I love hearing other people who went their separate ways and married their high school sweethearts years later. Heres to many many years of bliss. :)
Brian, seeing your videos and seeing this video with you and Amanda has, for me, turned Wampler pedals from just another pedal company (that was out of my price range) to a company I hope to support in the future. I appreciate your candor, openness and the way you love each other and your family. My wife and I have quite the blended family ourselves so that resonates with me. I hope and pray for all the best for you, Amanda and your family for the rest of your lives and the generations that follow. Eric
Thanks so much Eric :)
This was so awesome! My husband and I laughed so much because we could relate to most of what you shared. My husband is the musician who never stops working and so many other similarities!
This is incredible. This should be a full-time show. The Wamplers have a bright future in reality programming. Their interaction is terribly engaging to the viewer.
The American Dream being lived out right there. Congrats you two, and may your business and lives continue to be blessed and successful.
Great Vid! awesome that you guys can share this. I've been married for 14 years to my HS sweetheart too. We also get to share our love of music (we used to be in a band together) and now we work together as a photography team (she is the REAL talent there) and it is GREAT! good for you guys!
Great video!! You two seem great together. You communicate with each other, make each other laugh, and really care about each other. As a person who is married to my HS sweetheart (50yrs in May),and also spent the majority of that time in a family business, I think your business and marriage will greatly GROW. Good Luck in the future to both of you and your children!
this made me think of me and my wife so much haha. Awesome video guys .
You don’t have a wife, you fucking liar.
@@stanknugget You must be from Digitech.
@@johncbeer As a matter of fact...
@@stanknugget 😂🤣
So great to have a loving and supportive wife, Took me three to align the chemistry. Another great video! Now in the late 60's I am finally around musicians, playing music, and repairing amplifiers :)
It's so cool to see the reason of your success through your love, your complicity, you bring happiness to us with this, with your hardworking, with your amazing tones, much love from Belgium to you both, wish you the best for the rest of your life, take good care of yourselves and family, can't wait for some new products on my pedal board, thank you....
Rings made out of diods! That's classic! What a great supporting and loving relationship you 2 have. Congratulations. I love all your videos, but I think I love this one the most.
37 Minutes long and I watched the whole thing. I'm just now getting away from a multi-fx board and looking in to individual pedals. Watched your DIY stuff and this came up as a related video. The fact that you share your knowledge and passion for the circuitry with the rest of us is just awesome, but seeing the heart and people behind the product puts Wampler over the top. Keep up the awesome job and God Bless!
+Michael Branda thanks so much Michael 😊
Well that was quite refreshing and enjoyable. Your wife seems very sweet and supportive of what you do. You seem like a happy couple who love, understand, and accept each other for who you are...that's great to see.
PS thanks for the great pedals...have several with a few more on the wish list
Long time ago a distinct older gentleman gave me an advice I never forgot: "The two most important decisions you'll make in your life are the career you're going to choose and the woman you're going to marry. Seems like you got your bases well covered. Congratulations!
+morbidrockerdude very good advice! 😊
You both complement each other and that’s wonderful.
Wow, I thoroughly enjoyed this, good and fun chemistry between you two, and yes indeed sir, you are blessed, Amanda is super adorable...🙌🏻
Awesome vid guys. Really enjoyed it. Hats off to the wamplers.
I've been looking, well actually drooling for a while at all your pedals. I don't play gigs anymore, so it would just be for fun. But watching this video makes me want to order a boat load of them, but my wife's the boss too and she'd kill me. Thanks for showing us all how down to earth and cool y'all are! And Happy Anniversary today! ;)
From surfing pedal reviews to this. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this video/interview. Brian you are a blessed man. I wish you both the very best in life together.
This was a lot of fun to watch. Can hear a lot of similarities with my relationship with my wife. Great to hear how she supports you.
Thanks for doing this video, it’s great to learn some behind the scenes stuff!
Hi Brian, I just found your channel and this video... this is one of the nicest, cutest personal videos I've seen on CZcams. Loved it. If I ever make it to a NAMM I'll stop by your booth and say hi.
I really enjoyed this, I tend to be one of those uninterested in other people’s lives generally, I’m just not programmed that way. This.. well... was great! I am a fan and am looking forward to trying your products that you so matter of factly have been discussing in your videos. Kudos to you both.
Great video! Great to see ya both again ! Might see ya at Namm this year!
Your humility and humor come through in all these videos. A lot of builders just seem to run their businesses like some kind of cold, soulless generators of revenue, and there's no sense of authenticity or personality behind it. It is clear that your company is just an extension of your genuine interests, and that you'd be doing some variant of this whether or not you were getting paid to do it. That is cool and makes me want to support your family brand. That SLO pedal sounded killer, btw, so maybe that'll be my first Wampler purchase. Best wishes to you and yours in the coming year(s).
This is by far, my favorite video yet!
Amanda is awesome!
Great lady! You are a lucky guy!
This reminds me of growing up with a stepfather that had (has actually) his own business.
We are a family of my, your and our (children) like I guess your family is. Your love for eachother and mutual respect is heart warming. I like that this shows that Amanda IS the wife of Brian Wampler but Brian is also the husband of Amanda :-)
Brian. This is an awesome video. I own basically all of your pedals and think they are all great. I use a ton of them live every week. It was very cool to see how your wife deals with all this guitar geekdom. Was a great watch. Have a great week.
Cory Pensa
Cool being able to share in this way, Enjoy each other always
I have sent this video to my girl like 47 times. Thank you for this brother !!!!!!!
This is a great video. It really shows that there is a human (team/family) behind your business. Kudos for sharing (aka:good marketing too)
"Brian's wife, that's my name" I think I died laughing
Luigiman555 "Mr. Slugger" is what really got me!
I do not own a Wampler pedal, but I want one now. I can relate to the challenges of both having a blended family and running a business with your spouse. Kudos to you both and wish you continued success.
Same here! Being in a merged family myself, I'm totally gonna buy a Wampler now.
It's good to finally meet the boss.
Just got my first Wampler pedal yesterday, the Ethereal, really pleased with it. Best wishes from England!
I'm late to the show, but Amanda is awesome. You're a great couple and I wish you both continued success.
Thanks, I appreciate that! :)
I've watched about half way through and i really enjoyed this, your wife and your story sounds almost like my wife's and mine except we just like each other without dating (we always dated other people at opposite times) from 85-93. One night in 94 out of the blue she called me to see if i could give her a ride from college and that was the beginning our our 23 yrs together and 19 yrs of marriage. I stumbled across your channel yesterday with the "amps running through the same cab" video not knowing you were the Wampler owner, i like your channel and your personality so i subbed, God bless and happy new year!
Well Brian , that's about as "keeping it real" as it gets . Congrats to you and Mrs. Wampler . I think you and Mr. Keeley have set new standards in the pedal industry . I am proud of my choice to buy Wampler products and you get the credit for that . Keep doing what you're doing and thank you .
Great Q&A. You two are perfectly matched for each other. How fortunate that you each had to experience a previous marriage to find each other.
Great man with a greater wife a good guy who makes great pedals with great tone and better vibe we need more guys like you here in USA good feeling to have a person representing the quality your company represents you. Thanks
Been a long time, Brian. We've spoken many times when I lived back home in Bloomington, many years ago. Many friends there in Martintucky (wink).
Glad to see that this has been successful for you my friend. A great American story of passion and innovation.
Still have one pedal in particular within my floor aresnal that will never go away.
That was fun. Amanda is awesome. You're a lucky guy, Brian and I'm sure she reminds you of that every day! ;-) You have a good balance of obsession and practicality.
My wife has bought me several of your pedals for gifts so...I have that going for me!
Great couple! Happy Holidays!
You two are so real....love you!
watching this i never realized you were "indyguitarist"
i think around 2003 you modded a Boss SD-1 for me with a green LED.
it was one of the best friggin' pedals ever. i sadly got rid of it at some point
in a boutique phase.
you were RIDICULOUSLY KIND about the transaction and i'm so glad it seems you and your family are doing great. keep up the good work !!!
you guys are amazing thanks for the your honesty ..Don't own a wampler pedal but I might now ..
Brian, most truthful video. Thanks 😊 If you have the time, I am curious when you make a pedal, is that it, or do want to keep making it better until it is the best it can be?
Yes, the appearance of the pedal is an important selling point for me -- as long as it sounds good! Great idea to personalize your business with vids like these.
Great couple!!!!!! Can I ask about that Ibanez guitar on the beginning of the video? Does it has any significant mods, or it just sounds that great back in the day when it was build? Thanks!
She's awesome . Great couple. Congrats Brian . Keep rocking it brother .
Love Wampler Pedals. Great video Wampler’s! Thanks for sharing.
You know this was some of the genius behind some of the greatest American companies; This may not seem consequential but, in a world where companies go to other countries for their manufacturing. To see and hear from a normal American guy, and his beautiful wife and family; Is everything I want from the companies I endorse. {any and all of my products. Thank You for making that happen; It should inspire all who find a little of your truth. Malcolm J Adams
I was touched by the diode and resistor rings. I made my wife a promise ring from a guitar string, made the same mistake using lead solder, lol.
I guess I owe my patient wife some jewelry *looks at guitars hanging in bedroom*
What a beautiful, patient and witty partner. You're a lucky/blessed couple.
Thanks for the video, it is inspiring. I would like to build my own pedal business eventually. Your videos and the JHS vlog is inspiring me to get back into it. I'll see you at NAMM someday, we'll geek out on pedals.
Thanks Mr and Mrs Wampler. Awesome video. One of the first videos that I showed my wife, that she kept watching with me, (except Simon's Cat)
She's a keeper for sure ..she stuck through some humble beginnings
Love the talk, love the channel and the pedals!
Amanda is one of the all-time great eye-rollers. Creative use of Icees?
IC's, integrated circuits
You dirty, dirty bird, you...
This was very refreshing to watch.
Aw bless. What lovely couple 💖 you two are 💚
And Brian is totally punching.
This was good. Would tune into the Brain and Amanda show. Stay cool!
Hey Brian, great vid. It was a good break from the regular gear nerdiness!
You know the old saying... Behind every great man.. etc. That's definitely proven true in this instance.
As a guitar player and someone who stops mid-sentence to listen to a part of a song, or wonder if that's a Stat being played... it's nice to know that we all run thru most of the same motions. Of course most women don't understand our obsessions. But the good ones tolerate it and the great ones support them to an extent.
You got a great one. Gratz : )
Thanks
i used to forget to turn of my soldering iron and the ventilation a lot, always waking up in the middle of the night to check, so i came up with a master switch outside of the room i work in,works great!!
