I know the feeling of confusion on that bridge, I learned recently Everlong too, and my advice is when you reach the final note of the bridge, play 1 temp and go straight back to repeat it, then the chorus makes more sense when you reach it. listen to original and the interview acoustic while playing along, it will help a lot!
Nice one mate, also try to keep your strumming arm and hand sort of dancing, bouncing to the rhythm and use up-strumming to reduce your speed needed to strum!
Awesome job! Try using alternate picking and strumming to keep up on the time signature. I know Dave primarily uses downstrokes when he plays BUT he is originally a drummer. Not shitting on anyone, I’m a fan of Metallica and almost all there songs are downstrokes, Dave is awesome but sometimes his guitar work sounds a bit machined… just a little something I’ve noticed about drummers switching to guitar. On this note (no pun intended) of alternate picking, incorporating this technique will provide an extra layer of percussion ( muting, ghost notes, slaps, taps, or whatever catches your fancy) and it changes a cover to almost an original. Give your own flavor to the song, that’s where soul comes from… never play it the same way twice, always experiment! Keep up the playing, sounds beautiful, keep rockin brother! 👏🤘🎸🎶🎼🎵
Good job and keep playing, you rock!
Thank u dude 😎
