I can see how dropping mandatory service from 2 years to 1 year would devastate a draftee armies ability to function.
The time they serve includes hazing and abuse, including sexual abuse.
Russian mandatory service is just a labor camp. They don't teach anything about the military or tactics. They each have to fire 3 bullets in this time and that's all, everything else is just cleaning, painting, washing, doing yard work in higher ups summer house, etc...
Shoveling shit for most of that time and earning money for their commanders.. Or ordered to move (steal army assets) finland has 6 month to a year serving time depending what you do in the army and finnish soldiers are way better trained than russians thats for sure.

When the Ukrainian war started, I confess I had doubts about Zelensky. Not about the man, I knew nothing about him. But I did wonder about his background, a former tv actor and all that. How would he perform as leader of the Ukrainian nation at a time of crisis? As it turned out, he's been brilliant. He never pretended to be a "war leader" and trusted his army and its commanders, but, at the same time, left no doubt that he was in charge. He's earned the respect of all Ukrainians as well as NATO leaders, even those who didn't really want to get too "involved," for various reason. Turkey's Erdogan is one of those. But from the day Joe Biden wanted to fly Zelensky out to safety during the first week of Putin's ill-fated run for Kyiv, but was rebuffed by Zelensky's now famous retort "I don't want a ride out, I need ammunition!" I knew Ukraine had just the man it needed. He's become a familiar sight, always wearing simple military-green t-shirts and pants, showing up in front-line locations as well as capitals around the world advocating Ukraine's case, pleading for material support. There's no doubt in my mind that if Ukraine can be thankful for one thing it's Zelensky being in the right place at the right time!

You have been watching too much tv! You will never understand the Russian strategy by watching US media. The initial Russian incursion was never intended to capture Kiev. The force was much too small to accomplish that. Putin's generals wanted a crushing overwhelming invasion. But Putin is a moderate and at that time believed there was someone in the US or NATO with whom to conduct diplomacy. He was hoping a show of force would be enough to jump start negotiations - leading to a political settlement. Putin miscalculated. By summer 2022, it became clear the US was not interested in peace - and was determined to destroy Russia. At that point, The Russians began preparing for war with the West. Meanwhile, they also created a strong defensive line and lured the Ukrainians into a fatal trap at Bakhmut. Zelensky is no general, he was an actor (a clown, a comedian) before the war and fell into it hook, line and sinker. The Russians annihilated at least 75,000 Ukrainian troops at Bakhmut. When the history is written, Bakhmut will be the Ukrainians' Stalingrad. The Russians have repulsed the latest Ukrainian offensives. The counteroffensive has been a dismal failure. The Ukrainians have failed to penetrate even the first line of defense. Incidentally, the Russians learned about defensive warfare in WW II at the battle of Kursk. As of today's he Russians have massed as many as 700,000 fresh and well armed troops on the border. They have plenty of weapons and ammo. The Russians also now have a surveillance satellite in orbit above Ukraine - so they see everything on the ground, even at night. The satellite even looks down through cloud cover. Ukraine can no longer hide its assets. The Russians have been methodically targeting fuel and ammo dumps, troop concentrations, intelligence ops, headquarters, and what few abm sites and airfields remain. Ukraine's military has been seriously weakened. There is growing pressure on Putin to go on the offensive. As I made clear, Putin is a moderate and never wanted this war - but soon he will bow to the pressure and will give the order to unleash holy hell on Ukraine. The dangerous moment will occur when the Russians break through the Ukrainian lines and reach the Dnieper Rover. There will be panic in Washington and across Europe. What will he Zionist psychopaths around Biden do? Something stupid? Count on it. Pray pray pray for peace!
I've watched President Zelenskyy closely in this and other videos where he is being briefed on something, often involving a map. He appears interested, it seems as though he wants to learn and subsequently asks a number of questions. It definitely appears that he's genuinely interacting with those around him.

Its a big nothing burger, they have not even reached Russias first line of defence, and have lost thousands of men in this failed counter offensive. Ukraine has virtually no air defence and are sitting ducks without it. it takes a long time to be trained on an F16, they will be no help.
