You made me fall in love with hiking. I can't wait to start exploring and walking through the mountains of my country. Greetings from Greece!
czcams.com/video/5EDBSv8Lp78/video.html
Same here. Greetings from Greece! 😬✌🏼
Yes 👍
Oh my god. That would be so awesome. Have fun. Greece is beautiful!
Greetings from Greece, land of mountains, home to gods!
A little deflated in the morning is probably due to the air inside cools down and thus is less in volume :) happens when you use your breath to inflate it - so unless it gets worse, wouldnt be worried - just physics at work :)
I would try to not use your breath to inflate. Use a pump sack instead.
@@jessejayphotography it works better, but still the air is warmer when you inflate it, than at the coldest time just around dawn… but definitely much less deflation than when using your breath
Nice update Kraig. I know these videos aren't your favorite to make but many of us respect and value your perspective and process. It can be a little overwhelming, especially on the video side of things, and you clear things up nicely. Here are a few things I learned from this video.
0:18 HIKING/BACKPACKING
1. 1:35 Sleeping bag liners are key and the type doesn't matter.
2. 2:00 You might have a small hole in your sleep pad but covering it in soapy water will make small bubbles and you can find the hole quick.
3. 4:21 Wilderness wipes are crucial for cleanliness. All surfaces, crevices, and orifices will appreciate.
4. 4:58 An umbrella might not look cool BUT it will keep you cool and not just dry.
5. 8:25 You've caused major damage to your ass but it's been repaired and still functional.
6. 9:00 You might be a Brooks fanboy at this point. But they obviously have earned your respect.
10:08 MEMBER PERKS (I'm a proud member mind you)
10:41 CAMERA GEAR (the question that never stops asking)
7. 10:57 You've ditched the big 16-35 2.8 G Master and have moved to using a PRIME lens
8. 11:16 Talking about the uses of Aperture settings to get a certain look (it took forever to figure this out)
9. 12:18 you can see that the Joby 3k head has replaced the other original head on your tripod (never thought to take the old one off)
10. 12:44 this will be my next purchase. I've had the weight of the camera pull the head right over many times and it's taken a spill.
11. 13:34 I bought the first version of this battery a couple years ago. An absolute lifesaver.
12. 14:27 THE ULTIMATE KRAIGO GEAR LIST to convince yourself you can have everything you need to be just like Kraig.
13. 15:08 Kraig wants to watch you hike too.
14. 16:10 Kraig finally might get to take his own puppo on a hiking trip. Let the other trail dogs be jealous.
15. 16:29 Watch Kraig play video games.
16. 16:58 Bite Size versions of Mr. Adams
17. 17:24 Ole Kraig might have finally caved to trash social media.
18. 17:44 Kraig is still holding strong on keeping his Instagram but don't bet your crypto account on it.
Thank you Kraig for this overview. I look forward to you NOT going full Winter Kraig ever again.
Thanks for the write mate! My Hiking video in my country feel free!

Kraig, your work continues to be top notch and inspirational. Every little bit of content is meaningful with no wasted jabber and the cinematography is breathtaking. I find every video a must see to help build my up hiking kit and more importantly my bucket list. Keep up the great work!
Really great video. Perfect marriage of showing us your gear with a brief yet informative overview. And the trail footage is really great.
I never listen to gear videos. But i went through it all. Good tone, relaxing voice, good product descriptions. Great job. Tks
Thanks for the video! I always enjoy seeing these types of videos to learn what gear works well for experienced hikers and might also work well for me.
i like how you present your videos, very less ego fat, simple , chill and to the point. really reflects what drew me towards , hiking and backpacking/
Thank you for a straight to the point, informal, personal gear guide. Rad vid mate. Cheers
Thank you for entertainment, tips, and a good time!! Don’t stop ❤
Thank you so much for everything you post, it has truly changed my life. I have always loved the outdoors and I have an adventurous spirit, but I didn’t have the confidence to get out there and hike by myself. In the course of the last few months, I got off the couch, moved to Arizona, and have now been hiking at least one hike per week, trying to level up the intensity of the hike each week. One day I hope to do some of the harder hikes you have done, especially summiting large mountains. Oh, and also, my golden retriever loves watching your videos too, she’ll watch them for hours. She is my amazing hiking buddy. 🙂
This is so inspiring to me!! Working up the courage to take on my first solo thru hiking experience and its so great to hear from others who love the outdoors but needed a little encouragement to get out there. Good luck on your harder hikes! :)
Amazing work like always! Thank you for all the amazing content this year! Love your honesty and humble attitude towards everything.
than support him and join to his channel..
This was the first video I’ve seen of yours, but I really appreciated your attitude toward sharing your gear list with us (and also the way you talked about where you exist on the internet at the end). It really felt like you were intending to share rather than influence, which is nice to see.
Thank you for shearing your passion with us.
Thank you Adam for your kindness, the work and beauty you put in your videos. Your work is so inspiring. I am very lucky to have come across your channel recently. I have been watching a lot of your hikes, it's so beautiful and the silent movies are just perfect. I mean you can shoot and hike, it's beautiful, jaw dropping sometimes, relaxing and inspiring, I love it. Thank you so so much! I hope you had a lovely festive season and wish you and your loved ones all the very best for 2022. Can't wait to see your pup in action, she also is so beautiful!!! Merci :)
It's Kraig
Happy holidays! I’ve been watching you for years now and have finally gotten the means to start going on pretty decent day hikes now. Your videos have really inspired me to get back to doing what I love. Much love.
These videos and the talks after the hikes are so calming
Listened to lotr in the tent on my last hike. Such a comforting voice. Love it.
It was perfect, PERFECT.
Down to the last minute detail
word watching your videos is inspiring me to get in some hikes this summer. Can't wait and thank you
Always a pleasure to travel with you. It's such an enjoyable experience. Thank you so much! Appreciate it! : )
Wow! I have waited for this. This video eases my holiday blues after canceling my trip due to covid. Your 2022 will certainly going to be amazing. Keep hiking bec it inspires us a lot 😀
so beautiful! you made me fall in love with hiking
Thank you for great information, presented in a factual, professional way.
Awesome shots!
Just booked my flight to Iceland for Hornstrandir thanks to your video. I appreciate the updated gear list!
This is such an in depth video. Thank you so much
Great list, thank you.
Крейг, спасибо за то, что ты вдохновляешь десятки и сотни людей начать заниматься трекингом и пешеходным туризмом! Счастливого Рождества! =)
Always enjoy your videos Craig, this was no exception. Glad to see you are doing well.
Im here for some items only, but you make me really in love with hiking! Your video is awesome! Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing your gear! I’ve been a long time day hiker and want to start doing overnight adventures so this is perfect. Cheers!
Your hiking videos are top notch. I really like the one you did in Alaska since I live up here and have done parts of those hikes.
It gives me inspiration to do something similar with all of the clips I already have.
I'm most impressed with your lightweight gear. I definitely want to get a quilt for the summer season and maybe a Nemo tent.
Thanks!
These sights look amazing, i will never understand how can someone choose the city over sceneries like this.
Really useful video Kraig, thanks!
thanks for sharing.Stay safe!
I love your opening clips :) beautiful.
Thanks Kraig! I always love your gear reviews. I have the Nemo Dagger 2 person tent. Which is great for when my wife is with me, but i'm thinking about getting something smaller for when it's just me. The Hornet sounds great. I'm often up in the White Mts, and much like the Adirondacks, lots of roots and rocks. Having something light weight, and space saving is quite helpful when trying to fit around those obstacles.
Definately come up to NH! Show everyone that our mountains might be smaller, but they're still challenging.
Cheers!
Hi Kraig! I been looking for a long time the Remos Hornet 1p you recommend , but it seems discontinued , do you recommend a similar ? Thanks!
Love your video Kraig, inspire to hike more
Great info, thanks
Love your videos man
Thank you. From Japan.
My first video of yours! I'm from the Adirondacks but live in the desert, have done hardly any hiking but I am loving your vids regardless. Love the dogs that come along!
This is a great video Kraig... Really helpful.
it would be great to see you hike around the UK and Wales in particular👍
so informative thank you
Awesome videos of your solo trails and your gear. I really like the way you minimalise your videos with only nature/footsteps sounds and great music. I also like the way you explain all the details at the end with lots of information about the travel to and from the place you went hiking and where you camped/stayed and your advice. Really amazing! If you ever come to Germany you might be interested in the Saxony National Park area (Sächsische Schweiz = Saxony Switzerland), it is located near the German/Czech border in the east. There are great long and shorter hikes. There are table top elevations. The eleveations are not high, but sometimes challenging, as you have to climb up via ladders etc. to get to the top. You can also hike via easier trails - might be interesting for you too. Keep the videos coming and I wish you luck and lots fun with what you are doing.
Awesome tips dear !
Many thanks! 🙏😊
I took your tip on the long metal spork... life changer
Thanks for sharing!!
Great job Kraig!
We love you Kraig. You are special to all of us.
You’re the reason I summited Mt. Marcy, and started this addiction. Thank you
Excited to upgrade my gear this next season. Will be using this video for some recommendations!
Me and my friends are into hiking now because of your awesome videos Kraig, and plus point that i live in Norway (norwegian loved hiking 🤪😅😅) Thank you for inspiring us. Happy Holidays 🎄🎄.
czcams.com/video/5EDBSv8Lp78/video.html❤️
The dry bags are a great addition!
looks fantastic man. keep it up :)
that pillow is GENIUS
thank you for the hints ..
You're a genius for posting this round Christmas 🎄
Hi Kraig! I'm gonna start my 3mths South America trip soon and as a beginner hiker your video is a great inspiration to me! Thank you for all the tips and advices!
hopefully i'll have the luck to meet you in those Peru hikes in October and Patagonia hikes in December! And can't wait to see more Sasha in your videos:-)
greetings from hong kong!
Loved the update, your gear list looks great! Definitely will need to grab several of those items for my own hikes coming up!
Nice! Thank you for this channel.
I bought the sun hoodie last year because of Kraigs videos. Used it recently for a 4 days hike and it was perfect! Thanks!
Very dope video bro! I like these gear videos. Great style by the way!
It's good to know useful items.
14:04 this must be one of the best shots that i ever seen in my hole life, i could easily live in that moment
Awesome Video! Thanks Kraig =)
Excited to see where you will go in Iceland 😃
For a winter hat I highly recommend the Tough Headwaear Cuffed Knit Beanie. It's less than $10 on Amazon and I particularly like it because it covers ears and keeps me warm. It is also pretty light.
Would love to see a video of you packing/prepping for a trip. Interesting to see how everything breaks down and fits. :)
Thank you so much!!!
Thanks Kraig.
Great video.
Thanks for the LOTR music recommendations Kraig! Some interstellar ones also work wonders!
clear and simple . it can understand even I can't understand english enough.
Many of the stuffs you recommended are really exotic for me, I don’t see these in our adventure shops, guess I will have to order from Amazon. Thank you so much.
Awesome video
The metal frame on my 55 Liter LL Bean backpack that i got back in 2007 just sheared apart on my last winter trip of the year-glad to hear Hyperlite has lasted you, that’ll likely be my next!
I hiked the PCT this year and my sleeping pad was always a bit more deflated the morning because the warm air you blow into it cools down. I never used an inflate sack and now its all moldy. but I wouldn't change how I did it :) sweet video Kraig!
Being able to reach pockets from your back is really nice, I agree.
This is an awesome video Kraig. For someone like me who’s just starting to hike (No more trail running due to a bum knee) your gear insights are invaluable.
glad to hear Justin
Always love you Dude, from Indonesia
i love the video. to the point
Wow you are so organised
You are a badass!!! thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience always appreciated.
Just found your channel and i ❤️
I usually hike in new hampshire with deep snow, always bring boots and trail running shoes when there is no snow.
Great tools. It was very helpful.
czcams.com/video/5EDBSv8Lp78/video.html
Really nice video dude, good inspiration for my next trip :)
Happy Holidays. Great video. Team Brooks Cascadia too. A lot of folks don’t know they come in wide sizes. I don’t normally wear an extra wide shoe but with Injinji liners+Darn Toughs the fit is perfect.
I like that you hang onto quality gear as long as possible until it breaks down. I think a lot of regular consumers could learn from this. Helps remove the stigma from purchasing quality gear as long as you wear the items to their limits.
Hi Craig, hiker from France speaking. I've been liking your content since I'm a regular solo trekker (got to know you from the Tour du Mont Blanc trek video).
I usually do care about investing in gear that are environmentally friendly or produced locally + try to learn about the other European hikers their techniques for avoid creating waste while respecting nature. Would love to see such content on your end as well!
Otherwise, keep it going! Love every single of your video :)
You're my inspiration for solo hiking really love you man big fan from India 🇮🇳❤
Saludos mi estimado, tus vídeos me han motivado a iniciar a practicar este maravilloso pasatiempo. Saludos cordiales desde Colima, México

Word of advice on the Katadyn filters, They are probably good for most people, but if you are in a spot where the water has a lot of tannins from conifers or something, it gets clogged and slows down really quick. Here in Minnesota, I've found it is much better to use a Sawyer squeeze because the back flushing system cleans the filter fibers much better than the Katadyn. If you are in the mountains, I;m sure the water is mostly tannin free, so this is not a concern for everyone.
Merry Christmas !!! 🎄
Just discovered that dude and my God, AMAZING!
Thank you.....Peace
you made me wanna try hiking
Niiiiice love ur videos man.
Started hiking just because of you. Tried the TMB this year but I failed. I will try it again next summer with a good hiking kid which is based by you.
Thank you so much!
czcams.com/video/5EDBSv8Lp78/video.html🔥🔥
I did the TMB end of august, I'm no experienced hiker and was hard at some times but did get to finish it. What happened if I may ask? Because of weather or something else?
@@hystericthumb I was doing it with a friend and we started from Trient. On the first day we wanted to go to “Refuge du lac Blanc” but we underestimated the trail. It was very tuff, especially because we didn’t had enough water or food. On the way up my friend injured his knee and couldn’t continue hiking.
But my goal is it to finish it this year!
How did you like it? Do you have any tips for me?
