My favourite oleh-oleh from Jogja is rempeyek jogja, its peanuts with rice flour chips.. Ah, Gudeg Jogja is my favourite food from Jogja

Jogja semakin ramah, senang pernah tinggal disana. I miss so much this place
Food recommendations in Yogyakarta :
1. Gudeg with krecek (the most iconic food from Yogyakarta)
2. Oseng mercon (this is spicy as HELL, I don't even dare to try it)
3. Ayam geprek (also spicy, but there are customized levels of spiciness (one chilli, two chillies, ...))
4. Sate Klathak
5. Bakmi jawa
You can always ask google which the best brand/resto near you.
For oleh oleh, please retry bakpia pathok but this time with Kurniasari brand or other more famous brand. Other oleh oleh you might try : wingko, slondok, peyek.
Have you tried Salak a.k.a snake fruit? It's an indigenous fruit from Indonesia. And there is a very good variety Salak from Yogyakarta named Salak Pondoh.

Akhirnya sudah ga di Madura lagi. Beda banget muda mudi jogja dan madura. Jogja emang layak disebut kota pelajar, kalo madura kota slengean mayoritas SDM rendah orangnya resek2 🤣
Yogyakarta/jogja is one of the provinces in Indonesia where the people are very friendly and polite. beside that Jodja is also the right place for food lovers. there are so many kinds of indonesia traditional foods, drinks and local snacks that you can find there. in Indonesia we say jogja is kota pelajar ( the city that many students who continue theirs study there).

Slamet,, Im so envy. Coz Jogja is one of my destination city to visit. City with a lot of view, local food, the people are so friendly, many tourist attactions, many culinary in cheap price, ahh so and so and so.

Jogja is one of the most perfect vacation spots, with mountains, beaches, cities, temples, historical sites, kingdoms, caves, waterfalls, and cultural tourism such as cultural arts performances. One of the famous ones in Jogja is the night tour on Jalan Malioboro. If Bali is a vacation spot that foreigners want, then Jogja is the number 1 tourist spot for Indonesians. Jogja people are known as the friendliest people in Indonesia, as Jogja people I would like to suggest you to try a jeep tour around Mount Merapi.

@@WildCARLOSappeared Ok I will wait. But I want to share my experience when there were school activities in Jogja and I stayed at the homes of poor people. I carry out activities to help the economy in the village, I stay at the house of a poor farmer who even eat for a day they have difficulty. But when I stay with them, they treat me like their own family. They even gave me meat to eat while they only ate rice and vegetables. They live in deprived conditions and have to work hard but they always smile when they return home and meet their families. I hope you can also feel their kindness 😊

FYI, sometimes they don't want to eat because some Muslims fast on Mondays and Thursdays, this is not a mandatory fast but only those who want to do it. Usually people do this fasting to learn to restrain their passions so they don't do bad things and as a form of gratitude for the good fortune God has given them, to remember that there are people who can't even afford to buy food or eat everyday.
Oh I did not know that. That would explain a lot why so many people refuse. But also many people refuse when I offer them food or snacks at a night market (and those people clearly go there for eating hehe)

Yes in Jogja people tend to say no at first to be polite, so you have to insist to give someone anything. However once you got someone to accept, everyone will follow.
Also those people recording are probably not CZcamsrs, they are just recording their interaction with you. Most of them don't get the chance to talk with foreigners a lot so it is interesting for them.
In Malioboro people usually speak at least a little English and tend to be friendly towards foreigner so you'll have a good time. Enjoy.

broo, finally u arrived at jogja, where r u stayin' at?, where is your destination?, you should go to bentara budaya tomorrow, there is a weekly event called "Jazz mben senen" (meaning Jazz every sunday) where u can watch and maybe jamming around with local musician here. The event usually starts at 7 p.m. I'll be there, see you!, btw you should try oseng-oseng mercon if u like spicy food, and you should try angkringan/nasi kucing, it's kinda common here in jogja

Man..for you who doesn't eat meat I recomend you to try eat at Jejamuran Resto it about 15 km northern from city. FYI,all menu (sate,rendang,soup etc..)at the Resto is masroom.
My hotel staff also recommended this place today to me. 25k reviews on google maps if i'm not wrong. I will go there 😳😀
