Never too late to start the guardhouse box challenge! I do watch those WMW gold gram videos as well. So far, I have avoided that for the 1/4 ounce gold I'm stacking but I like what he's doing with the gold fracs.

I love reverse proof finishes. If u open them, I agree, u should grade the whole set. If u just wanna grade 1 or 2 it would, in my mind, be better to just find a couple loose coins to send in and leave those in the case
Probably humidity. Anything above about 35% can slowly cause damage.
Store them in long bags or extra large zip locks or an airtight container, with 1 or 2 silica gel packs inside. Change the silica every 1 to 3 years, depending on size and container.
Toning is a touchy subject. Some ppl seek out specific tones. But a lot of ppl obsess over luster and originality (hence cac premiums). Some types of toning is also the beginning of the loss of luster.
U can do your own tests. Seal a few. Leave a few unsealed. Put one in a drawer or cupboard near your shower or in your bathroom, or in your garage, if humidity is over 65% where you live. Wait a year and see how you feel about how they turned out. Maybe try selling each sample
The same thing happens to Morgans in Dansco albums. The toning does not affect the grading at all. I think the plastic is reacting with the coins. Yeah leave it in there and let it help tone the coin.
I have seen that toning on proof coins, that should not have any lower grading, it’s about any damage. To me, toning is not damage. Thanks for the video, keep it up.

Maybe you need more moisture absorbers in your storage area? Or it wasn't stored properly before you got it?
the 1st one I got it came toned a bit, this 2nd one im not sure if It came like that or is actively toning so not exactly sure. Thank You Lakota!
@pajamastacking someone i know gave one of the silver sets to their kid who plays a bunch of sports. The kid had it in his room for 2 years and all that sweaty laundry and air really did a number on that set.
