Dawn of the Dead rulez forever 💯👀🔨🍻🍻🍻 R.I.P. George a Romero + David Flyboy Emge 😢😢😢 greetings from Hamburg Germany 🍺🍺🍺
Ray… we lived on this side of Pittsburgh for a few years and used to shop here. Thanks for posting! Side piece of info for you: another piece of this property that is the same from the movie is the rear two level entrance and the hill where the bikers came down from, also the same hill when the trucks came down to block that rear entrance. Most CZcamsrs never capture that hill and the back out parcel. The out parcel building near the hill originally had an A&P grocery in the movie.
That's true! I kinda wish I put that in the video
Lots of cool history in this mall!!! Thanks for sharing.
After watching this vid I decided to watch Dawn of the Dead, someone said why are they coming to the mall, the response was that it's what they used to do, the mall was an important place in their lives, that was a good answer
These days, zombies would wake from unconsciousness, immediately shuffle over to iPhone, and stare at the hypnotizing glow for endless hours. Wait…
Thank you RAY .. this movie inspired me as a kid . I wanna visit the mall soon..
🤘💀🤘
it's worth the trip!
Hi Ray
That’s was great! Never saw the movie put pretty cool seeing the museum and the props from the film
Thanks for another awesome video. I've actually been to this mall fairly recently. I sure wish they'd kept the fountains and tropical plants, those pics were amazing!
I wish they were still there!
Thanks for uploading i love it
This was fantastic you made me contemplate making the 5 hour drive to go see this museum and mall. Love the videos!!
Its part of the reason I made a trip to the Pittsburgh area!
I saw this in theater when it came out in the 70's. I was blown away because I had never seen anything like it before. Back than the camera always cut away from the violence or minimized it, but here it was graphicly shown. People weren't used to seeing that back then. I would never have thought it would become so famous.
The film was a great advert for the mall because the people turned the storeroom into a really cool house with the furniture, plants and TV set that came from the mall stores, and they had loads of fun playing the retro computer games
Awesome vlog and filming location Ray! Such a classic film.
It really is!
Hi Ray another amazing video!! you never fail always the best thanks for sharing
Thank you so much!
This is great and awesome!!!!!!
Bill Nosley was in "the night" remake
Awesome,Awesome,Awesome, thanks for another amazing video Ray !!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for making this video! What a cool museum
The remake is spooky good man
Great video Ray! Love the fact that the mall is basically a museum!
I'll make sure to rewatch it with my wife over the next few days.
Then I can point out the parts I seen in this video.
I wonder what mall the remake was filmed in.🤔
I think it was a mall in Canada that is gone now
Always wanted to see the real mall, Thank You.
I need to go here soon! Awesome video Ray :)
You should!
It's great to see them setting up a museum of the movie that was filmed there. More movie malls should've done the same. Just maybe it would've helped save them, or at least prolong their life a little bit more.
You have to appreciate a mall that celebrates its history rather than erasing it
I agree. The malls where Stranger Things was filmed should be reopened as a tourist attraction and the mall where Back to the Future was filmed is a dead mall and the props are located in dead hallways.
Wow!
I have a peice of the metal elevator frame that is no longer there. To this day still a really nice Mall
Nice!
Definitely have to make my way out to that mall. I've already been to the cemetery. Seeing the mall and movie history was amazing. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! I would love to go to that cemetery, maybe next time I go out that way
@RayOutThere definitely a must next time you're out this way
Ray i love your videos and i just subscriber
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it
I wish Lived in this Mall , Geiles Museum , thanks for this Video ❤️🍻🍻🍻
Another movie with a mall used is a crappy 80s movie called Chopping Mall. It was a couple of mall employees that stay behind after closing and the robot security goes haywire after an electrical storm or something. It's been a long time since I saw it (I was a kid) so I don't remember all the details.
That's another good one! That was filmed at Sheman Oaks Galleria in California, which was featured in several other movies
My then boyfriend and his biker buddies were asked to be in the film. They drive through a store, stealing stuff. My girlfriend and I went along to watch. They asked us if we wanted to be extras, but we thought we looked cute, and said no. Lol we were idiots.
I bought a pair of And1 sneakers there on a trip in 2000.
That mall was on the Angry Video Game Nerd when he showed all of the areas where the movie was filmed in
Wow this is amazing that you actually went there!! Been meaning to go ! Love it! 😊😊😊
It's a great time!
I was completely oblivious to this... I miss that fountain😂
Spenser gifts is still in business i believe at the mall.
I heard you say you've only watched night of the living dead in b&w. They also have a color version. I'm not talking about the remake but the original remastered in color. Check it out.
I don't know, I think I prefer b&w
@@RayOutThere Yep. I saw an interview with George Romero decades ago, that they agreed to the colorization so those involved in the making of Night could get some money out of it - since the original film distributor left the copyright notice off the film prints, it was assumed by others to be public domain and was copied and sold by many later distributors, home video companies, etc. with no money from those releases going to the creators of Night.
Great video! I'm planning on visiting there next month. Would you know where the gun store was in the mall? Or where the loading bay area was where they bring the trucks?
The gun store was actually shot somewhere else because there wasn't an actual gun store at the mall. The loading docks should be visible from the outside of the building.
@@RayOutThere Ah that's interesting to know, wonder where the gun store would have been. I'm guessing somewhere near the mall. I also heard that their hideaway area was on the 3rd level of JC Penney's which I guess is gone now too.
Cool if they kept the car
Mr Rogers was filmed in PA and Romero got his start there. He said pretty much any film person in PA got their start on Mr Rogers
I've read that George showed a copy to Fred Rogers and he was afraid he wouldn't like it, but Mr. Rogers liked it and said it was pretend violence, like his make-believe land.
So is Eden Prairie next?
Maybe if I ever go out that way
"I want my cake"
Remake ok
