Baby Lasagna won Croatia's national selection show Dora 2024 with his song Rim Tim Tagi Dim and will head to the Eurovision Song Contest!

Marko (Baby Lasagna) was totally anonymous in Croatia before this competition. He created, wrote and composed this song himself in his bedroom on his computer. The song was inspired by the departure of his friends from his small town to big cities and other countries. So he sings about a young man leaving his home and everything and going away, trying to find better life, leaving everything he loves behind.. That is big problem in Croatia, many young people left to other countries because of economic reasons. Anxiety is mentioned since people leaving their homes feel a bit anxious and also because it's something that the singer himself is fighting with. Marko puts elements of tradition in his stage performance (like hose big sleeves which are part of traditional Croatian (Istrian) costume and Marko is from Istria). Also the dancers are dancing traditional dance. He is connecting tradition with his genre of music. 😊
The song wasn't even written for Dora (national competition), his friend persuaded him to send it to competition after hearing it. And then, he was only backup (reserve) song and entered contest after other artist dropped out, so he had only 1 month for preparation.
Marko had never ever performed as a vocalist before this competition. He was a guitarist for metal band and he is a songwriter, thus the inspiration.
Also, he is wild, loud and very outgoing on stage, but off the stage he is actually introvert, kind, shy and very humble person.
I would love Marko to win, but if he doesn't, I know that we will still be very proud of him. We'll enjoy seeing him on stage in Malmo and he will have our support, no matter the results. ❤❤❤ Greetings to all fans, let's have great show in Malmo and best of luck to all contesters 🎉🎉🎉

And the fact that the Baby Lasagna song was not even selected for the competition by our jury (very possibly corrupted), would make this victory even much sweeter and bigger. I get what you mean, but it was HRT's decision to add 2 semifinals to the national selection, thereby putting more contestants up for the public vote. And even then Baby Lasagna was a mere backup. This just shows how while some HRT producers have good ideas, others are quite bad at their job

His story by the way is amazing. This was a reserve song that was not supposed even to compete, he got on stage by accident because contestant dropped out,, he had only 1 month to shoot a music video and make a performance , this was the first time he actually performed on stage in front of a camera !!!! He had 50 spotify listens for this before Eurovision, not assigned by any music company . he wrote , produced and made this song all by himself in his bedroom . I mean his story is jaw dropping and incredible and now, he is on top amongst the best to win the whole thing.

@@luckypunk7006Well, since some of you keep posting the same thing, that melody is from Adrian de la Vega Espectro theme, I'll repeat myself again - this is absolutely not true. They both bought the same sample (actually, loop, because it's only few seconds of the sound) from the web page that sells samples/loops (or to be correct - sells rights to use sample). That doesn't mean that you own that sample, you can buy it only to USE it, and anybody can buy that same sample after you, again and again. What you do with that sample is your own thing. Those few seconds of sample/loop mean absolutely nothing if you don't know what to do with it. And what Marko (Baby Lasagna) did with it - that is pure magic. He build whole story with very strong, upbit and happy melody, while the theme of the song and lyrics are bit sad, at least to me, talking about young people leaving forever, hoping for a better life somewhere else, far, far away.
You have every right not to like this song, but then just say it's not to your taste, you don't have to spread false acusations of plagiarism.
