I bought VTOL VR because of drewski. Ive never regretted a purchase more. it has made my social life non-existent and i have spent more time in the past week sitting in a VR cockpit than in the real world. I’ve racked 104 hours in the past 9 days of owning this game. Please send help.
That was me a year ago, now I'm fighting high in the sky in my f-16 viper or f/a18 hornet in dcs with my hotus stick throttle and rudder pedels on the growling sidewinder server
You know it will be time to stop when you can no longer scratch your balls out of fear you'll accidentally eject.
How easy is it to get into, I’ve found this game (and others like it) cool but I don’t really have anyone to show me the ropes
@@brody810. Propably not that hard. I have never played VTOL VR, but I have DCS and I learned it all by myself. Just played tutorials and watched guides online. 180 hours later Im decent, but not that good in PVP.
@@brody810. super easy, the tutorials in game are fine, and i could nearly learn it myself, but i watched one like 13 min video and could easily fly from there, in multiplayer people are also good at helping you. Think i had it pretty good under control after like an hour and a half tops

@@howdeedoo Thankfully most 6 year olds can't afford a Valve Index to play on PC, but any game that has cross compatibility with the Quest 2 is a cesspool of squeakers lmao

I love the feature in this game where you can sync up the VR to your real life ejection seat and get sent straight into your ceiling. Would love to see this featured. Great video Drewski :)

Me and my dad picked up this game this weekend, both got quest 2’s. After crashing the AH-94 ~50 times we got our first flight in and dispatched all the targets on the target practice map

I've had my trackIR for like 10 years. I literally throw it on the ground when I'm not using it and I step on it all the time, I have no idea how that thing is so sturdy
I snapped mine trying to itch my nose....
I looked at mine funny once and the clip broke in half. Duct tape did a so-so job. Donated the second the CV1 arrived.

Don't think it can ever be understated just how good VTOL VR is! Imagine the possibilities over the next few years. Even simple immersive things like, at night, the moonlight shadows but the focussing on the marks on the canopy.

I like how while Drewski is just dodging missiles left and right the others are like "OH I FIGURED OUT THE MAIN BATTERY"
Try turning off the G-Limiter in the FA-26. Stay under 14 Gs (easy now that it shows on HMCS) and you won't take damage. This allows you to easily dodge incoming AMRAAMS and keep nose hot to guide your missile.
Honestly love watching you being emotive in VR, so funny to watch little VR Drewski's head bobbing around

I've done all the flight sims in VR, including DCS and IL2, and this is the only one that gives me complete immersion.
Il2 in vr is pretty damn immersive as well

YES, moar VTOL VR. I got into it because of your channel and it's one of the best games I've ever played. I heard about it before but I stayed away because I figured I'd just get motion sick. I picked it up after watching your entire channel's worth of vids on it, and loved it ever since. Keep it up my guy, the more popular this game gets, the more support we give to the Devs as a community.
This game is amazing, been playing it non stop and I can't wait to see it's future progress. Seriously hoping the Baha makes the enemey aircraft and bombers pilotable.

the enemy aircraft can't really be piloted cuz their scale is super ridiculous lol. the enemy fighters are like 5 times bigger than an actual fighter jet.
they're releasing an electronic warfare aircraft, and a trainer jet pretty soon
As someone who actively worked on the Warthog it’s nice seeing someone who appreciates it so much. Love your vids man. This sim is incredibly accurate to the real cockpit and warning tones as well.

glad to see i'm not the only one that plays this game with my screen blacked out from Gs about 80% of the time
After long times of watching, I pulled the trigger and bought this,and begun printing a 3d printed grip to hold the quest controller for better manoeuvres, this is the first game I've bought for my quest 2 and via airlink it's incredible and awe-inspiring
i love the cut at 15:45 ... its just from peacefully flying in the sky to intense aircombat

I just got my headset back, played vtolvr yesterday, and woke up to a drewski vtolvr video, life is good, life is very good.
I've been thinking about DCS for a while and going through the HOTAS line but I was unsure. This video was super helpful! VR might be the way for me to get into sim flying through this game, also, a freaking VR headset for every other cool game to boot. Thanks for the advice stuff at the start, keep it up!
Go for dcs, its completely different experience. DCS is a real simulator, vtol is just non-realistic arcade (GAME!), youll need hotas and powerful pc for vr sure but you wont regret. It takes time to learn all the weapon systems and avionics but once you learn them you will never look back.
I have DCS with all the equipment and many DLC's but play and enjoy VTOL more and find it more immersive in the feeling of flight.
I like when games don't focus on graphics, more focus on the overall experience, I miss some if the early 2000s ones something about those just hits different

Out of all VR games on the market, VTOL VR is the most Polished. The controls feel snappy and clean, the clarity of the screen is phenomenal and almost 0 lag ( which is very important with a VR game)
May not be the best VR game (but it is) but it's definitely the most Polished
People think “oh the graphics are so bad it’s not gonna be immersive”
Lemme tell u, flying in the night pitch, low to the ground, breaking the sound barrier, then you get a missile lock and launch and your trying to tell where it came from while firing flares while trying to evade and not crash into the ground, it gets pretty immersive, I think it’s one of the vr games that is a must have, beat saber, blade and sorcery, and vtol vr.

Just got this today man I’m glad I found this. As someone new to flight games this is just what I needed and on a budget.
In my opinion VTOL VR is the best VR game out right now period. It some how makes hardcore combat flight simulators accessable to everyone. I really want to get into DCS, but it so god damn complicated and expensive to get into correctly.
This game has given me the best VR experience yet. i love how everything works and you can stream yourself in the cockpit flying its awesome.

I believe DCS in the F/A-18 you can use VR with the controllers just like VTOL VR… I did some digging and you can also use VR gloves in the F/A-18 but that’s the only aircraft able to allow this

@@jonathanislikecool Oh, is it with the controllers or can it do with gloves to?
It's possible, but I can't recommend it to anyone. There is no tactile feedback and obviously cockpits of real jets are not designed for bulky controllers. For VR in DCS you actually need even more advanced HOTAS than for 2D as you won't be able to use your keyboard that much.

Just got off vtol vr, stopping for the night because it's 12am, saw a drewski video was up, I am plugging in my vr headset again as we speak, gotta make a video on this game its so good.
This intro is a very succint way to descibe the rabbit hole of this hobby lmao. Also I saw when you pulled up your Quest that it had the default head strap. I couldn't stand it, after a half hour it gave me headaches. Highly recommend an aftermarket strap, as well as facial interface. With both those replaced I can play VR comfortably for more than 2 hours, sometimes 3 at a time.

Hey Drewski, I love your videos and recently I just got VTOL VR so came back to binge on your videos on the game to see if I could pick up any tricks. I was wondering if you would consider making a video that goes over some basic tips and tricks for the game. Like how to notch a missile and why it works, some basics of using certain weapons, good practice for detecting enemies and staying undetected, that kind of thing.
Hopefully you see this, and if you do see this and decide its not worth making a video for then thats no worries. Hope you are having a good day and thanks for the content!

Got the game today and was flying within 5 minutes of spawning, it perfectly mixes realism with enjoyment
I got an oculus quest 2 after my windows i had for years and its night and day and i can't put vtol vr down now it is my favorite vr game
touchcontrols need to definitely be implemented in more flight sims
With little more modder support and more aircraft selections vtol vr will be one of the most epic vr/sim games ever.

The TrackIR clip is nearly 10yrs old and has yet to upgrade its apparatus, a velcro clip has worked wonders to remedy the dainty design.
