Bill Gates Visits Caltech: Microsoft founder and billionaire philanthropist visited Caltech on October 20, 2016, to learn about research being conducted in several labs on campus; to catch up with former Harvard classmate Caltech President Thomas Rosenbaum; and to participate in a question-and-answer session, moderated by professor of English and Dean of Undergraduate Students Kevin Gilmartin, with Caltech students at the Beckman Auditorium. We caught up with him after the event to discuss science, giving, and the value of a broad education.

Government can only give what it first has taken from people. It's not sustainable economics. The US is 20 Trillion dollars in debt because of this reckless spending. I do love though that Gates (as well as Musk) know that the costs have to come down before change can happen. This will be ok if markets can be free to compliment each other. Carbon Taxes drives up shipping costs, and those costs hurt battery companies, manufacturing, and those that create 'renewable' technology.

Bill gates was programming in machine language when he was a teenager, he built a company that made personal computers ubiquitous and became one of the most profitable companies in the history of humanity, and because of the work his foundation has done there hasn't been a case of polio in India since 2009. He's been the wealthiest man in the history of the world for the last 20 years. There aren't that many people that are smarter than he is, and if you feel like watching him lecture is a waste of your time then it's as simple as not watching CZcams videos where he is prominently featured.
