Checking out an import lathe and putting on a 4 jaw chuck. Indicating the spindle. The Morse taper 3 in the headstock has a bit too much runout for me. The faceplate is very good.
Thank you Jaap, for this very good informations about the lathe. After watching the videos I've ordered one and as a beginner I'm happy with the accuracy I can reach at the moment. The biggest "tolerance" ist the person in front of the machine at the moment. Have a good time in your shop. best regards
Vielen Dank für den Tipp mit der Reinigung der Riemenscheiben und des Riemen. Auch meiner ist verschmiert und ich habe die Maschine erst 4 Wochen.....lg Holger
Hallo Jaap I have the same problems. In The first i sell an MK hohnig Tool an the first problem ist fixt. Then i mountet the Chuck and grind the arms vom the Cuck inner an auter. It wast a long time Job to kame in 1/100 mm Thanks vor the video
Hi there. I have a question for you about this lathe and if it's worth the money? I'm a beginner and I will mostly turn resin and small metal pieces. Will this lathe do and is it accurate enough for serious hobby work. Hope you can answer my questions best regards H
Hi, Im thinking about getting this lathe too ... have you since measured the outrun on a bar ? And did you get the tailstock offset fixed ? Would you recommend this lathe? Thanks for the info ;)
your ruler test doesn't mean anything, centers are not conical to the point. that is to say, the point geometry can be variable in the spec, only the cone surface behind the point is 60% between some tolerance. the point is not a critical dimension.

The lathe is o.k. for the price, but if you need a precision machine, you have to check for runout, linearity and parallelism, like I did.
where did you buy the 4 jaw chuck If I may ask ? Thanks
I bougt it from Ebay, I forgot where, I'm sorry
Hi Jaap,
where is the PART3 ?
Thanks!
