  • What is the cat distribution system??? "The cat distribution system is a concept that explains how cats or kittens just randomly appear in your life. It's the idea or theory that sometimes you don't adopt a cat; rather, a cat adopts you. It's like the universe's way of pairing up cats and humans."
We feel so lucky to have found this special girl, or more accurately that she found us. I can't wait to keep sharing her journey with yall :)
UPDATE: since filming the video we’ve officially decided on a name, sunflower family, meet Tilly!

I have been told that due to the regular exposure to your own cat, your allergies compensate and you'll grow less allergic to your own cat as opposed to other cats. Great story
I had a 21yr old black female cat I raised from a kitten. One afternoon I noticed a thin black male tomcat wandering through my back yard. Since I have an affinity towards black cats, I tried feeding him.
I spent the next 3-4 weeks feeding & trying to befriend him, morning and night. It was slow, trying to get close, eventually he would lay on my lap in my wheelchair. But he wouldn't stay. Always left after a bit.
One morning he showed up with a swollen hind leg & his left eye had been popped. So I took him to the vet that day. I got him patched up, neutered & all vaccinations & he's lived with me for over 10yrs now. Fat & happy!
The reason for this story, a month after he showed up, my female cat got intestinal cancer & passed away. I strongly belive hee showed up here for a reason. The Cat Distribution System at work!

I had a kitten come to me from the distribution system last Tuesday! We named her Freya and she came right in, immediately bonded with me and my children, and my two senior cats have taken her in like their baby. They play with her, groom her, snuggle. Baby Freya is 4 months and my senior cats Dinah and Cheshire are 13 and 11. They all have been acting overall happier and healthier, almost as if my cats needed a young playmate themselves to remind them of their youth. It is so beautiful to watch!

Fast forward a few years and she just decides she's over being feral and wanted tummy rubs instead. 😂 of course there's a lot of ferals who will always be wild, but cats truly are domesticated and it's amazing to see how they can sometimes flip that switch when they find the right people!

    Road cat to home cat:
1.) access to sunbeams - almost all cats love warmth, and especially places in direct sunlight.
2.) multiple litter boxes - at least two, and far apart from her food and water. We had one inside the house and four in the garage which we kept closed.
3.) as you mentioned - access to being a “tree dweller”. Cats typically are either ground dwellers with prefer to “hunt” from a concealed spot, or from a tree. Almost every cat I’ve known prefers to be up high. You’ll find out fast if she’s a fan of high places.
4.) we had a storm door on the front of the house. This let us give “kitty see” time in the mornings and evenings. A cat favorite. If you have the option for a screen door on the front or back door - I recommend doing so.
5.) treat time - at first we just gave them out of our fingers and he was content - but when I started tossing them across the room/rolling them on the floor he was sooooo much happier. This gives cats the “chase” mentality as well as the reward for a successful “hunt”.
6.) a water fountain - cats will go far out of their way to have a source of running water. “Moving water” is almost always cleaner than a stagnant pond.
Those are the first things that came to mind for a new feline family.

Tagging this post because these are all good ideas and a lot of things I would've suggested. If you don't have a big front window, the screen/storm door is a good idea. My cats have never been outdoor cats, but they love to sleep by and watch out of the big sliding glass door, and my bedroom window. Both windows look out on to a big tree frequented by many kinds of birds.

It takes a while to take effect, but it strengthens the immune system on so many levels and contributes to overall improved health over time. I used to be allergic to cats, but not anymore. When I first adopted my current cat at 5mos old, every time he would smoosh his face into mine, I would get hives on my face and neck. I would have to immediately go rinse my face off and take a benadryl. I'm not sure how long it took, but at some point, I completely stopped having an allergic reaction to him. He's just turned 11yrs old, and if I had to guess, it was probably after the first year that there was a noticeable reduction in allergic symptoms, and a few years later that I completely stopped getting hives from him. I essentially accomplished the same thing as allergy shots, albeit a more miserable way to go about it lol :) (well, it was very cute and enjoyable when he smooshed his face into mine, it was just the itchy hives welts that sucked)

You will never have a better cat than one who chooses you. And she looks SO happy! My husband and I both have cat allergies and we have 2 cats. Oxygen is overrated, lol. In all seriousness though, we take allergy meds and deal with the stuffiness and itching because we wouldn't trade them for anything. Our little ginger girl came to us through the CDS. She ran out in front of my husband as he was driving to work one morning. Thank God he was able to stop and pull over without hitting her. She was little more than a skeleton with fur and was so crusty. The poor thing was dehydrated and starving and I honestly don't think she would have lasted another day on her own. She was only about 5-6 weeks old but was so small that the vet we took her to that day initially thought she was only 3 weeks old. She was screaming for food, but as soon as she'd eaten, she walked right over to me and screamed to be picked up and held. I think my heart exploded and there was no way we weren't keeping her after that! The crazy thing about it all was that we'd just lost our last cat only a couple months prior very unexpectedly and were grieving so hard. We needed her just as badly as she needed us. Then not too long after, we adopted another kitten from the Human Society so she'd have a companion. Cats are quirky hilarious little characters but they bring so much joy!

Please put her back where you found her, she doesn’t want to be in a human home and you could use those resources on a cat who has nowhere to go and actually knows how to live indoors. Hi Tilly! It sounds like you picked a great family to spend your life with.
To Holly, it sounds like you are doing everything right with Tilly. With an outdoor cat, you have to have the patience, love, and wisdom to give them time to adapt to an indoor life. You can't force or rush it. Different cats need different amounts of time to make the adjustment.
I see you are already planning on this, it really helps to give a cat their own personal space away from you (and any the other pets). When the cat distribution system worked for us again, we put up shelves, and later, a hanging cat shelf on one of our doors specifically for our wild child and she LOVES it. This helps her feel safe and has been an important place away from everything when she feels the need to decompress.
One thing I noticed was how quick Tilly was to jump up on you and initiate cuddles. This means Tilly is not a feral; but, is either a previously owned housecat, a barn cat, or a community cat who received love and attention from several humans. Ferals just don't make the psychological leap from being wild to being a momma's cat within a few weeks.
You got lucky and I am overjoyed in your good fortune. May you and Tilly enjoy many years together.

oh gosh, tilly is soo sweet 😺💖 i saw your live & came back to watch this - i hope you keep her & that we get to see more of her!! also, i have a story & a few tips:
i adopted two semi-strays 6 years ago; a feral mama snuck into my neighbor's basement somehow and gave birth. i offered to help get them out & somewhere safe, intending to get mama fixed. she ultimately wanted to remain an outdoor girl, but of her 4 kittens only 2 tiny brothers had survived - i fell in love with them, and they wound up staying with me. so now i have a huge sweet tuxedo (galileo) & a mischievous brown tabby (davinci) who i love more than life itself.

She is gorgeous and so sweet!!! ❤
My first bit of advice as a life-long crazy cat lady is if she happens to be one of those cats that unroll or rip up the toilet paper- put a shower cap over it. It's easy for the humans to undo, and prevents her from messing it up. (Of course it depends on what kind of dispenser you have for the tp, but that tip works for almost everyone).
Secondly, I had a couple of formerly stray cats that would try to bolt for the door any time we went in or out. We stopped them from it by one of us being across the room and using a laser pointer to draw their attention, which they loved to play with and they would hear the click of it and get too distracted to worry about the door. Eventually they won't run for the door anymore and won't even look for the laser pointer, it just takes them some time to settle in and get used to loving that indoor life!
I hope you both do well enough with your allergies to keep her. I am not allergic to cats, but I've always wondered how well that food works for people who are.

My elderly cat Nutters stays in our fenced in backyard when we let him out. He'll go out to potty with the dog and come back with her! Harness training is great but remember, you can teach a cat to stay, just like a dog. The rewards have to be VERY REWARDING for a cat, though. Congratulations on your kitty, one is a slipperly slope to four! Welcome Miss Tilly!

I would recommend to harness train Tillie/Tilly step by step. Cats are super cautious and sensitive, so harness training them can take weeks. Putting on the harness and going for even just a small walk immediately, can be incredibly stressful to the cat, depending on the personality. Even though she doesn’t seem stressed or she doesn’t hiss, that doesn’t mean she’s not careful and stressed. Especially when you don’t know their body language well enough. There’s a lot of good harness training videos on CZcams. I have a can myself and are currently harness training him. Some of the clever cat people say that all cats have autism, which I do too, so that’s pretty relatable for me. You would do her a huge favor when it comes to the harness training, to just take it step by step.❤️😸

cats actually don’t need to be “potty trained”! just another reason why cats are the coolest pets, their natural instincts attract them to the litter box so even feral cats will use litter if they’re indoors. they really don’t get enough credit for how smart they are!

As far as allergens, etc goes, in my case, for indoor/outdoor cats, I also have a degree of allergies (although it’s to pollen as well as cats), so I’ve found that even wiping my babies down with a damp cloth or paper towel can help until they’ve been inside a while and definitely don’t have any pollen embedded in their fluff

I'm pretty sure Im allergic to cats too. Or at least when I was little, I sneezed like crazy when I visited my cousins house, who had like... 5 kittens and 2 cats. But then even before that, I never sneezed when I was a kid and had a cat of my own. And after that into my adult years, I had a cat two weeks after she was born who stayed with me for nearly 10 years who never made me sneeze once either. I very much think 'cat allergies' are just temporary and your body just needs time to adjust and get acclimated to the fur. Anyway, very happy for you and your little buddy!

All of the cats that I've had were strays that we either found or wandered up to us. Being chosen by the cat is the best and none of then had any difficulty adjusting to life indoors. We've always had a fenced yard so allowing them to have a free run of the back yard was never a problem. We always put up a cat tree for them to scratch and climb so they wouldn't tear up the furniture. I would suggest getting a robotic cat box that cleans after each use.

My first cat was an outdoor stray who was taken into an adoption center. She use to get out of the house by slowly overtime nudging the screens in the windows open until there was a hole big enough for her to slip through LOL. I spent a lot of time repairing & reinforcing window screens in the beginning. It stopped after we moved to our new place.
The one thing I'd say is super important with cats is making sure they have enough water in their diet. Kidney disease is super common because most cats aren't hydrated enough, especially if they're only fed dry food. Water fountains are super helpful for this. After I finally put my water fountains not where it was convenient for me, but rather in the pathways the cats walked through a lot - both of my cats drink a lot more water! Also as someone whose about to get dental work done on my youngest cat - trying to avoid the costs of that by trying to brush your cats teeth regularly is something I wish I had done. My cats hate anything like nail clippings, teeth cleaning etc, but we're learning to get them used to it because it's so important to prevent worse issues down the line!

There is never a more pampered cat than that first cat people get, who have never gotten to have a cat before. I re-homed a hard to place cat, w/ an immigrant couple. I thought w/ her various issues that she would be hard to home. She was peeing in laundry baskets, needed to be fixed, was going into heat and didn't get along w/ my other cats. She was a tiny, beautiful little long haired calico and this couple fell in love her from her pics. Other people loved her pics too, but when I explained the issues, they changed their minds. They were undeterred and drove 2 hours to get her and she fell in love w/ them right away. It turned out she never did dirty around their apt. and they were prepared to deal w/ it. Seemed she just needed to be an only cat and it was all nerves. They adored her and she got a great home. Inside pets were not common where they came from, so they were itching to have their own cats finally, and when they set eyes on her, none of her special needs were going to stop them either. They knew she was the one.

I have a very similar story to yours :) I've had my Kitty McFeline for 9 months now :) Allergies should get better, I used to not be able to breathe well when my cat slept with me but it totally worn off now ^_^ He too used to have full access to the out doors, make sure she has sunny areas to bathe in and good windows to see the outdoors - better if you can provide a high place in front of a window like a cat tree, and when ever she goes to the door check her needs. See her litter is clean, ofer food and play-time; and usually that will get her mind off. She's a stray so unlike home cats, she will mew to go outdoor if she needs anything - that was were she knew she can find stuff. Once you set a catio and get her used that she can find all her needs indoors, the crying to go out will probably wear off, but either way, she will be happy indoors especially if you manage to get her on a harness (I am still failing that). My cat is already mewing way less and since I set my catio up, he maybe spends 5 mins in my flat stairs and that's all the outdoor time he needs! Even before I forgot my door open once when I was out, my cat was sitting inside looking at the door, waiting for me to return. When a cat chooses you, all they really want is to be with you. But sun spots and a good viewing area really help to satify thier outdoorsy needs.
For food I would suggest visiting Cats.com, it's where I check for the brands I find. They don't have all brands but have a good list of reviews with most major brands and a good amount of other more specific to countries brands, I think it's a good place for newbie cat moms like us. There are plenty of tips too there. This is my first fur baby too! ^_^ Best of luck to you and your new fur baby! She really is adorable!

I love the catio idea. And if you take her on the deck with you or in the garden when you do outdoor stuff (with her not necessarily on a leash), she will likely stay very near you because she's now bonded and she's found her furever home. My boy used to be an indoor/ outdoor cat, but when we'd walk the dog, my cat boy would follow right behind, no leash, and be right with us when we'd come back home. You may not be able to take the "outdoor" out of your baby completely, so just keep that in mind and be flexible with options for her. :) She's found a great cat mama.

The first two cats I ever rescued I would let them outside over time and I live in the very rural mountains so I didn't think there would be any problems and I didn't have them at the same time but they both disappeared and my second cat was my best friend ever so loosing her was very hard and a couple months later a pregnant kitten showed up and she actually followed me in the house but I always check with the few neighbors I have to make sure they didn't loose a cat but a couple months later the pregnant kitten had 4 more kitties and I became to attached to adopt them and now they are grown I'm afraid to let them outside because I don't want something to happen to them, then one day I was coming home and a little feral kitten walked right in front of my car and had to hit the brakes hard and when I went to check on him I expected him to run off but he was walking towards me and he had very badly infected eyes so I picked him up and took him straight to the vet and the poor fella is permanently blind but he's such a great cat and can even jump up on my bed and the other cats treat him like family and that's how I have 6 cats.

We have a distribution center in on our property. Since 2020 we have had five litters of kittens by three mommas, one of which sadly was struck by a car and we had to save them and get them to a very helpful rescue in San Diego. Most have moved on disappeared or have been struck by cars crossing our busy street. One we did manage to bring in from the patio after he was deathly ill with some kind of respiratory infection that had him all gunked up and on the verge of his death bed. We treated him with antibiotics got him cleaned up and adopted him into the family. Lazarus transitioned from feral patio cat to in house pretty well. He still has the outside energy and annoys the heck out of his big sister from another mister Lil Bit. We are planning on getting him neutered and hopefully that will calm him down some.

I have a cat I received from the cat distribution system several years ago. He showed up as a kitten. We had a cat that liked to go outside sometimes and he came home with her one day. The twist: he looked almost exactly like her. :) I spent a few days sitting outside to get him used to me and putting out food for him. One day, he got close enough for me to grab and the rest is history. He wasn't a feral kitten because he didn't hiss and run, even from the day he first showed up and he didn't fight at all when I picked him up and brought him in. He is definitely my boy. The cat he followed home passed away suddenly a few years ago, and now I say she brought him home to us for when she's gone.

  • @nessunodorme3888

My wife and i had two cats who had been abandoned a couple of times and had spent at least a year outside before they came to us, a lot like your cat came to you. We fell in love with those cats and lived with them under some tough/adventurous circumstances that followed for many years.
    So, about harnessing your cat.
First, I _know_ how hard it is to entrust your car to the wild world but you should remember your car knows a lot about that world, too. She came to you for love and care and to share her life with you guys and you did exactly the right thing to gain her trust. Don't be afraid to keep doing that.
They say some animals are creatures of habit but cats are creatures of place. Shortly after we got our cats we had to hit the road and we had no "place" for them. Whenever we got to a new place they would immediately go out exploring and, the boy especially, wouldn't come back for so long it worried us sick. Eventually (I can give you more details if you're interested) they both came to see US as their place.
Cats are good at navigating even long distances and are naturally cautious like your cat. You don't have to worry about them as much as your heart wants to. You've already begun to show your cat you respect her freedom and she can trust you to give her love and protection without asking anything of her in return. Don't change now. If your cat doesn't like the harness, it still may be worth it to get her a little used to it for a time when it's absolutely necessary, (like being in a cat carrier). But otherwise, don't teach her the harness is the price she must pay to be with you. She will naturally miss roaming free and avoiding danger, hunting mice and all the rest of the cat life she led back when you offered her your home with no strings attached. Unless it's truly impossible for her to go out by herself (or she seems to no longer want that) don't push it. Cats can also leave their owners if the owner is being oppressive. I have an idea your cat is a couple years old already and, by her behavior, she's likely spent time among humans. I dunno how that experience went for her but she seems pretty delighted to have found you. And vice versa. The best way to "keep" her is to show her unlimited love and respect whether she's purring on your lap or out creeping up on a mouse.
PS -- my wife was also slightly allergic to cats (even "hated" them!) before those little guys showed up at door and captured her heart. I hope your allergies get better, too. Also, please don't take offense at this advice. I could talk your arm off about adopting somewhat wild kitties and I have no reason to think your not already doing everything right.

So a cat also chose us and we are madly in love. Had no idea how cool cats were. I was allergic as well...but during the pandemic I had randomly ended up at the #1 allergy & immune dr. in our city because I needed to go to a dermatologist and couldn't get in and this person was the only dr. available. I asked her about my allergy and she told me "it may sound weird...but you will eventually 'eat' enough of your cats dander to form an immunity to that particular cat". It made so much sense and seems to have happened as I constantly cuddle her and have my face in her fur (because she is too dang cute...a calico). Anyways..I only get allergies now if she has been in the grass or other things I am a bit sensitive to. But I am not allergic to her at all. Just give it time. My husband also cleans the hardwood floors daily and I do wash her blankets often as well. This allergy and immunity dr. was one of only 2 in town and the best and I think what she told me makes perfect sense. Your little cat is madly in love with you both and so so lucky. What a beautiful story. Thank you for sharing.

Holly I'm so happy for you, your husband and sweet Tilly. I just saw this video and want to thank you two for opening your heart to this precious cat. She has definitely chosen you. You asked about food suggestions. I have had kitties my whole life and am 67 now. After losing 2 beloved babies to stomach cancer, others to kidney failure I did an enormous amount of research on the pet food industry. I thought I had been given them the best food possible. But I later learned this from a terrific vet in Spokane, WA who had his western medicine practice for 35 years and also became trained in eastern medicine and acupuncture. He told me that the major food brands you see in the stores - especially dry food - are full of fillers that cause inflammation, sickness and ultimately premature death. Cats that are given the diet they were designed for - carnivore - and fed raw, will live very long, healthy lives. Food that has corn meal, or any 'meal', by-products, wheat flour and a bunch of other vegies is not what they are designed to eat and especially highly processed food. They are meant to eat raw meat and the only carbs would be equivalent to what would be in the stomach of a bird or mouse they ate if they were finding their own food. I'm sure Tilly is used to eating raw having been outside on her own. Here is a brand I would invite you to look into. Small Batch. smallbatchpets.com/catbatch-frozen. They raise the animals, feed them natural food - no hormones, etc. and are humanely processed. They make the food into small sliders that you keep frozen until shortly before meal time or you can put a few in the frig the night before. The cats LOVE IT. Just thaw out 1-2 sliders for each meal and put a little warm water on them. Super easy! I thaw a days' worth by putting them in the frig the night before. Don't cook or microwave it as that destroys the enzymes and defeats the purpose. They will eat less, have less waste, feel better, have a beautiful coat, clean teeth, won't be overweight and have more energy. Plus you won't be dealing with allergies due to their dander. Don't give them more than they'll eat. You don't want it to sit out more than 2 hours so if they don't finish it all, just put it back in the frig. Then wash their bowl after each meal. You'll spend less overall for food and have a healthy cat that doesn't need the vet much. This vet told me their food should have a fat content no higher than 10%. He told me cats could live 30-35 years if given the proper food, a safe environment and vet care when needed. I have 2 21-yr olds and a 16 yr old currently that are doing great. As with any food change, do so gradually so they can adjust with ease. Unfortunately, the majority of vets in the US won't tell you these things because they are taught to sell the big brands and make money from it.
I'll look forward to seeing your new kitty living room. :) Best wishes for the future.

I have had many cats in a span of 30 years. They do belong to nature, so what I would do is to make sure you microchip her asap and install a cat door for her, so she can freely go in and out. You can lock the cat door at night. This will make her very happy, as it allows her the flexibility to be an indoor/outdoor cat. They enjoy nature so much, it is not fair to be over protective and lock them inside. None of my cats ever got lost or hit by a car, but then again I planned all my home purchases around low traffic areas to accommodate them.

My boy's favorite thing is this, a skein of yarn, with about 2 meters unrolled off of the end, and a little bitty mouse toy tied to the end. The skein is for grabbing and kicking hard, the string he holds between his paws and pulls with his teeth, the mousey he chomps on. For my other cat, I have a long braided paracord hanging from a nail over a doorway, with the cord through a tennis ball at the end; I throw the ball and he goes nuts, he jumps on the ball which pulls on the rope which causes it to yank away from him when he loses control of the ball. He loves it.

What a pretty cat! I know CDS blessed me with a Pregnant One Eyed Stray a few years back, and we kept her Kittens and then this winter we got another delivery from CDS when a kitten showed up. She is a Ghost Tabby names Bitzy Boo. Cats are so sweet!

Oh my goodness, we have her twin. She just showed up in our yard one day - two miles from the nearest neighbor. So someone had dumped her. And she also is a very sweet cat. Best wishes for you and TIlly. (We named our found cat Rayla).

We had a cat that moved in with us after 3 years of living outside. He would come and go and sometimes he would be gone for months. One day he came and he stayed. He had his ear trimmed, which means he was fixed. We had him for 4 years before he passed away from heart attack because he was obese. He was very food oriented. If only I could go back in time and change my way of feeding him, he would still be alive. He was very loving and loyal. He had a hard life outside, I could tell by many scars on his face so he appreciated his new life. My advice to you is, don’t over feed your cat. I had more than 30 cats in my life and the journey isn’t over yet. Enjoy the love you get from that beautiful cat wile you can.

Keep her out of your bedroom. Hepa vacuum. You said you have an air purifier. You can wipe them down with a damp paper towel daily. Plus a few times a week use a flea comb to comb her. It helps keep the dander down.

I have three cats so if you don't want anyone to deal with them scratching at the walls and get them these little cat like claw covers and it helps with it and you can get different colors but that's what we used for our cats when sometimes but it's kind of hard to put on if you're not like experience with it then don't do it just got it but got their nails but if you want don't want them to like be super scratchy then use the keycaps do you work like magic that's so my advice and also cats are very like loving and stuff so sometimes they go a little crazy don't mind that they always go crazy again those are my cat tips and I hope you have a good time cat parenting

I was super allergic to cats growing up and all through having my 1st cat. It got better and better over time. I have TWO tuxies now and I do a spray of Flonase every day in the nostrils and let me tell you girl… NO ALLERGIES! I am only bothered if I touch my eyes directly right after a petting session. Then I use Visine allergy and in about 30 seconds the irritation is gone. Even my parents were shocked I can live with cats after almost being hospitalized as a kid after a full body hives reaction. The body adjusts. Adorable baby and glad you’re keeping her ❤

Hi, new subbie here. The Cat Distribution System finally found me too! I rescued what I thought was a stray, turned out to be feral cat. She was hunting at my bird feeder so I started to feed her. Then one day I opened my front door and she walked in my house. Turned out she was pregnant with 5 kittens! We have named her Luna. She is all black. 😊

What a sweet vid....such a sweetie! I had a cat follow me home many many years ago. I had to go through something similar, but LLS, he was around for many years. Unfortunately, he got out and we never saw him again. But that is to your comment about letting them out......harness OR NOTHING would be my suggestion. Cat's have a mind of their own. As you already know, they can be hunters and that instinct is for their wild-side. It's natural. Poor Max, I hope he's ok.

I am so happy for both you and her - she's so sweet, and you talk to her just like I talk to my cats!
I don't know if you've had any issues getting her to use the litter box, but if you have, I highly recommend:
    Dr Elsey's Cat Attract.
It is a clay litter, which I don't love because they are not great enviromentally, but it helped me train a feral kitten to use a litter box - then I gradually switched over to a grass based litter once he was completely comfortable.
Other litter tips - get a big enough box, you want to make sure they have plenty of room. If she's used to going outside in the open, she might not like a covered litter box, because it's a vulnerable position for cats, and they want to be able to observe for danger.
A lot of caring for her is just going to be about giving her time to adjust to her new situation, and getting to know her - her personality, her likes and dislikes - every cat is different.
As far as a name, I keep seeing Tilly in the comments, and I think that's pretty cute! I usually write out a list of names that seem to fit them, and then see what they responded to best!
I am sorry for how long this comment is - I tend to get a little passionate on the subject of cats!

For her wanting to go out - make a Catio on the Patio (an enclousre where she get to be outside, but protected from Coyotes and owls). It need to be taller than wider.

biggest tip i can give is read your cat.... they don't speak our language but they are like a book and even the noises they make can be a big help to tell you how they feel... maybe ask your doctor how to help lessen the affects of your allergies as well with medicine, i remember my nana had to get some kind of shot so she didn't have any trouble breathing or what have you when she had her cat Sophie... may she rest in peace... i was little at the time she ad this cat but she would periodically go to the ENT and allergy doctor for this shot and dragged me with her a couple of times which is how i learned about this... also there are multiple youtubers who do video's on cat behavior to aid in learning how to read their language displayed through their body and actions

Awesome story 🥰. If possible, try to feed her natural food vs typical kibble that is made with a bunch of filler like corn and wheat or rice that cats cannot digest easily. When you make eggs cook one up for her over easy. It’s good for them.

I had a feral cat that was not full grown went I got to know her in my yard at the time. I found bathing her in a bathtub, although I did try that with an older feral cat, not good, but it worked wonderful with my blind cat. The feral cat always wanted to have a way to get outside.
