Would have preferred open cell foam insulation on that David Weekley home it has a higher R-value, adds structural rigidity and reduces outside noise. I'm with you on the power lines. No bueno!

When will these builders start building smaller, more affordable housing? Not everyone can afford nor want a big, expensive home. Rents are exploding and there are too many people facing the possibility of being homeless.

You can buyer smaller lower price point homes too in Alamar. Lennar is offering 1,400SF homes around 400K. You can go to a different part of the valley (Florence, Coolidge, Casa Grande and Arizona City) for homes under 300K, Surprise has 1,272sf homes for 325K, and Buckeye has 1,356sf homes starting at 325K. They are there.

@@royalnavarre1673 That's not true at all about not being safe. Check out CrimeGrade.org!!! As for investment...totally different conversation! I would agree that there are much better markets for bigger returns but you probably wouldn't like the areas I would suggest either. Investing is about making numbers work, even if it isn't in the safest area.

I gave the 'out the door' prices. These are spec homes, that means everything is already picked out, price has been set.

@@NG-sq1fr Ooooooooooo....they never disclose that, they being the builder. Only when they are ready to sell the home (after the rest of the community has sold out) so they list the home for sale. When they do list it, they will provide a list of all the upgrades and what the retail cost was at the time it was built. Assume that most model homes are severely upgraded!

I smell it more in Tolleson but anywhere near farms and dairies will definitely experience smells when the wind is blowing in the right direction. Don't want those kind of smells? Buy in the big city. Country is country.
