- (5-24-2016) Well now I have the right tire for the scooter so today we get out on the interstate and open her up. I find the speedometer reads about 5 miles happy. When it says 75 you are really going 70 :( . Anyway enjoy this short video including a 0 MPH to cruising speed with wide open throttle. love the vid. I have a Honda Reflex 250 and it's the best scoot that I have ever owned. It currently has 70,560 miles on it and still going strong!!!
Wow.. I thought mine was high milage at 30k. Love my reflex nss250. Have 2006.
I rebuilt a Gator 150cc and got it to top out at 65mph, but it's built for city not highway. My good friend found me a 2004 Honda Reflex with only 510 miles on it about 2 hours from me. I thought it too good to be true but I checked it out and bought it. Best damn scooter I've had in my 10 years of owning and riding them!
Loved this video. The speedometer on the left is great. It was nice to be able to see your tachometer too at times. Yep, 80 at 8,000 RPM. Yesterday, my 160 lb son and I (220lbs) rode 2-up on the hilly I65 between Alabama and Tennesse for our 1st 2-up ride together ever. What a blast. Passed 16-wheelers the whole way. 80 mph indicated. That was a blue 2006. We were riding up to TN buy another one. A champagne 2002 . We raced each other on the way back. Pretty even. (neither modded) 85 down hill. 75 up hill. Passing them semis over and over... Subscribed!
if you are gonna down rate my video can u please give me feedback so I can improve them
I am have autism too.may i get a shoutout pls good sir thanks you very much it would make me hapy :D
I'LL DO IT FOR YOU, MY BUD

Elevator Finding in the US by The Elevator Guy And thank u for the showtout sir
I'm getting a reflex 250 soon and loved the video, thanks! I'm excited!!
You'd benefit GREATLY with a large GIVI Touring Windscreen.
Added one to my 2006 Burgman 400, total game changer.
I am in the process of buying an 03 model with less than 5,000 miles on it. I was curious as to how it would do on the expressway, and this video helped a lot, thank you. Now I am really excited to get this bike, it's the yellow and black model which I think looks pretty cool.
Glad to have been a help
Thank you for the ride, beautiful scooter and loud pipes too 😁
Been riding my 03 for a couple of months now, NO complaints at all. It is quiet, smooth, very comfortable and plenty of power for me. I live in the country, so back roads are what I ride mostly. Just over 5k on the clock so it should last a while I hope. Anyone thinking of getting a Reflex, I highly recommend.
The Reflex is a great bike. I have one (2007) and love it.
Great Video DieselDucy. When are you making more road trip videos. I love them. I'm from Puerto Rico and always wanted to see Road Trips like your trip to St. Louis and Texas. I've never been to the US and I love seeing the wide open space of United States.
If you aren't passing anyone you should be in the right lane
Must be a Vermonter. ;)
🤣🤣🤣
Really
I recently got a 2003 model, dang, I love this bike ..
Decent acceleration considering. About the same 0-60 time as my car lol (for which I have never even taken to 70mph yet).
Have you taken it 70 yet
@@kylek6575 nope
Mark Reaves pussy
@@kylek6575 I don't think the car can even do 70 without blowing up or something falling off lol. The guts of the muffler fell out about a year ago. The sway bar bushing keeps popping loose every few months causing it to make an annoying clunking sound over bumps. The steering rack is so worn that there is play and it too makes a clunking sound. The AC kind of works, it blows cold so long as the outside temp is below about 80F. Once it gets above that, it can't keep up. Can't find anything wrong with it. The engine sounds rough. It burns oil. It had a rough life before I got it apparently. The transmission shifts sloppy between 1st to second and hard from second to third. It only has three gear and it puts itself into 3rd gear by about 25mph. Oh, and did I mention it only has about 152K miles? It's a cheap beater that I have about $1000 invested in and have had it about seven years and plan to drive it until it can't drive anymore or someone smashes it and I get a nice insurance settlement to replace it. The fastest I have ever taken the car was 60mph and it was revved pretty high then. No tach so not sure exactly how much it was revving. I once had a Honda Civic with about 300K miles that was in better shape and had more horses.
Dude I've been watching you sense 2014 and you videos make me feel better about my life. You are the best CZcamsr on the planet you should make a comment video sometimes and read comments on earlier videos. Keep up the great work!!!😀😀😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much! :)
You should mount camera on chin area for better view and camera on very top of the camera cause wind hitting it and too much attention from people looking at the camera 🤙🏼
hmm never seen a Reflex over 75mph. Mine is bright yellow. i love the Reflex Great quality. Little slow from 25-40 mph though. Dont follow Semis to close....blow ya to hell and back. Trust me on that one!!
You must have an 03 model, just like mine.
I have a 2001
But all the Amazon fuel pumps are bad so I found one on eBay for like $100 / Young from a used but all the Amazon fuel pumps are bad so I found one on eBay for like $100 / 11000 on it used bike hopefully
My 03 will do 80, easy. Never tried to push it further though, 80 is fast enough for me.
Is there anything you can do about the wind noise?
great video by the way
Love your I have the same screw that you have but I have a problem for some reason won't start
How much Throttled did you have left? I've done 75 at half throttle just boght a 2003 yellow one with 7056 miles i also love this bike averaging real close to 80 mpg little over.
That’s really cool scooter and the gauges
what happend to your fino??
Would be nice if you talk telling us your thoughts
Got off on the Buchanan exit I see
Does the engine cry after that?
wow that moves
Mitch, the scooter guy rode Honda Reflex 250 years ago. 60,000 miles on it I think. Checking his friend recent bought same model but modded badly. Less than 4,000 miles on it for a decade old model.
Andrew. Thanks for sharing your videos. I enjoy watching them. What state was this video being taken? I'm guessing Virginia. Anyway, great job with your videos. Keep posting some more.
+Jeff Krezel thanks for watching. And yes VA
What's better the Honda Reflex or Honda Helix?
good job
Kewl beans. Searching scooter videos for couple years and yours was just suggested today..Where are the others? Need some scenery, poi, other people comments when you stop, bragging about mpg, etc.
Is there word from the vino with the work or is the reflex your only motorbike for now?
I am giving the vino to a friend that will fix it. this is my only bike now.
Hi buddy where did you get that top box was it made for the bike or a general fits most bikes . i just brought One have yet to pick it up have a 500 mile trip of the south island of New Zealand any tips . i think i travell at a steady 60 mph . i have yet to see the bike or ride it . so have no idea how she go shes a old bike 2004 model. my wife will only go on a bike with a passenger back rest she likes the look of the Honda goldwing My budget doesint go that far any idea if you can get a back rest that top box be as good..
If she is old and how she goes get a man bike.
I've been looking for something to putt around on. I just found one of these for $500, and I may get it. I used to own bikes, but now that I'm older, I'm looking for cheap comfort, and great gas milage. 👍
This bike got about 65-70 ‘mpg
@@DieselDucy wow. Thank you. That's a damn good selling point 😅
Great video! I am thinking of purchasing a Flex. Can it cruise OK at 70 like your video shows? I am struggling between a Helix or Reflex.
+un-masked man the helix and reflex are both good scooters. The reflex has more storage but the helix looks more 80s.
Thanks!
You sir, are the bravest man i know.
how so :)
Holy. Crap. How do you get a GPS like that on the video? That's mad cool. When I start filming my ATV adventures in the wild this summer, I will probably utilize a GPS like that.
+DieselDucy great video
+Specialty Elev8ors and UEE's by Technicalboy3000 garmin virb xe has it built in
***** I'll make sure I can find it.
You could straight pipe that beast and not hear it over 40 mph. Haha Cool 🛴 👍🏼
It’s amazing how scooters defend the wind better than my motorcycle
Yeah. I like scooters.
Boo Exxon! Driving 81 MPH on I-81, haha! I drive 64 on I64!
i drive 5 MPH on I-5...
I want one so bad
Hey man I have seen you use the gps reading on a couple of videos and was wondering how you manage to overlay that on the video? Thanks in advance and keep up the great work :)
+GARTON360 the camera I use is the garmin virb xe. And it has the gps sensor
+DieselDucy Thanks for the reply.
GARTON360 t
just got my own last week and will be riding it tomorrow. only thing is that mine is a 2002 model
Matthew..thanks for the vid... I'm looking at a 2002 (used obviously)... 31000 miles..he wants 1800. im in ct...worth it?
I like mine, though it had much less miles. they're pretty simple bikes so they don't take too much to fix and do maintenance on
I love my scooter.
Mine is a 2004, It had 13k on it when i bought it and paid USD 1700
Interstate scootin !
I see your bike is a sport model .
When this video was done what mods had you done to this bike? had you done the K-mod?. I have a 2004' ABS model in Red, it just turned over 9,800 miles
+Gary West bike is totally stock.
MY 2004 HAS 150,000 MILES ON IT
That looks scary.
Shine!
At 80 mph on scooter this light is it really stable comfortable? I'd guess 50mph max would be it
That would be down hill and that is the max Honda says in the manual. The stock tires are rated for 62 mph continuous. At 70 mph the engine is turning at 7,500 rpm. I have a 1997 Helix and run 65 mph. Very stable and comfortable at that speed. It does have a 17 inch front tire. The small diameter rear wheel ( 10 inch ) is to keep the cvt belt short. Have taken 1200 mile trips on mine and even in windy conditions is good with the fairing. Mine is the Honda cn 250 and they are only 19.5 horse power so do not expect that to move up hill all that good.
OOOOOOH MY GDNSS, I WUD LOOOOOVE TO HAVE A HONDA REFLEX SCOOTER!!?
Is this a stock Honda reflex or did you do any modifications to the clutch/variator?
Stock.
Very nice, I did a K- mod on my weights much better acceleration and downhill with the wind at my back I can do 90. Try it it's free!
I wanna git one myself
how is this able to go 80 when a Rebel 250 tops out around 70?
I don't know. I was running WOT
Cool!
So at about 80 mph I'm guessing that's riding wide open. Correct?
Yep
Ever thought about taking a road trip on the scooter?
YES :)
I got an idea. How about you ride your scooter all the way to Hotel Roanoke from your house? That's an awesome idea isn't it?
Only. Honda Reflex can do
This. Yea. Pretty damn good. I just sold my M109R. Injuries can't ride monster. Bikes any more thinking of this scoot to get around through the country Roads to get to my grandsons house 6
Miles each way. It I am 6.1 is this to small got one 4 sale down the road great price. Yea that's a good. Video road 350-250-1000 800-1800. But need some thing to run to and from as my truck is old
80 mph on this motor isnt goin to hurt engine or its destined for this speed?
it is its top speed.
Wondering what your height and weight is I'm 6 for 210 lb want to buy one but don't want to look stupid on a small scooter
If that is your problem then I would recommend you buy nothing. What does looking stupid have to do with the purchase of anything, if you are concerned about what other people think just stay off a scooter.
@@ohwell2790 well have you ever seen a bear ride a mini bike ? Looks pretty stupid to me
I'm 165 lbs. Made a smaller windshield..got rid of the box..mine hits 80 easy.
The Honda Helix is speed limited to 70 mph from the factory so if 80 is easy what is the top speed of your scooter?
Were you redlining at 81 or still in the safe zone of the engine?
Short answer it is not. That is the max never exceed speed in the manual. The safe zone as you say is 70 mph. I find mine is smooth and not at full throttle on no wind flat ground at 65 mph and for cruise that is the best for me.
That top case is knocking you down a few mph.
The trunk?
@@DieselDucy No the top casr
How much do you weigh?
Now 135. Then 220
Is this near Roanoke?
Yes about 20 miles north.
Hey man it looks like you’re not wearing protective gear, not smart.
DUDE!!! Bad habit jumping in the left hand lane and then cruising there. Do you think that's ok?
Nice scooter, liked very much seeing the 80mph. Almost got a thumbs down for the left lane thing, but I'll not leave a thumb and call it a push.
Wow!
Yep
How about getting out the passing lane? Who learned ya to drive?
I love how as soon as you see 70 mph you get into the left lane and stay there with cars passing on the right.
I know. should have gotten over.
Kewelll. I was curious as to if the Reflex topped out any faster than my Helix does. ( 75 ) Thanks for the vid. Would have been better if it just had music instead of all that wind noise. But still, , , thanks.
+coyote102076 I have gotten it to 82 on my gps. Rev limiter is around 9k rpms
Nice! My helix has went 85 MPH once. Sure did! I promise. It was on the trailer being pulled by my Hemi. Hahaha! Thanks for getting back to me on that. I have seen several Reflex's come up for sale and keep getting tempted to move up from the old Helix. Then again, I may jump 2 gens to a Forza or a Silverwing. Just depends on if I keep or sell the Harley 1200. :-\
I subed to your channel just now. :-)
+coyote102076 I love my reflex. I can get up to 70 mpg on it and it will go 75 mph all day long
do you have any videos of your helix?
Heck yeah, how's it on gas
Amazing. Regular work schedule 5 dollas a week ✌
I thought the video was very good. Your not the slowest vehicle, and you weren't holding anyone up so could drive in the left lane.
By the looks of you shadow all you had on was a T-shirt, you just might want to invest in a motorcycle jacket, gloves, riding pants and boots. As they are very cheap "insurance"
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Slow down dude your tires are to small the wind is going to blow you over ! They are to small not enough horse power these are urban commuters !
yeah, it was rough going this fast on a moped.
Here is my rating ........ You pull on the interstate and then go right for the fast/passing lane for no reason. Then as i suspected aren't even going fast enough for that lane forcing traffic around the right side of you ................... Great job LOL ! so i left this comment at watching a minute and a half of video and shut er down ! sorry not for me man .............. good luck, and i mean that
First and hi
250cc and only 81 miles? its something not right with your bike man. my friend can get up to 72 on 125cc
MrMarukas86 the bike is quite large and heavy for a 250cc 1 cylinder
Roundyghetto2 yeah I've had one for years and this is true. it's a heavy bike for it's class and engine size, and it's purposely designed to be a low stress engine making it last longer.
Its in its natural habitat in 60 - 80km/h cruising
Around 45mph I guess if you're American
Yeah I would agree. Mines pretty happy around the 50 mph mark and then around 65 to 70 my rpms start to run out.
