But I read Dance of Thieves before the prequel series and I absolutely loved it!! I think it's way better than the prequels, so I really recommend it to you!!🎀

i read dance of thieves before the kiss of deception trilogy and i LOVED dance of thieves but the kiss of deception trilogy made me in a book slump because i was so frustrated. i still think you should read dance and vow of thieves because it’s honestly SOO good

i read anna karenina this year and loved it-and the experience. it's divided into 8 parts, and to me it felt way more like a well written series of 8 thoughtful and empathetic novellas than one thick-ass book to slog through. ✨

If you would like to try another chess romance, I would definitely recommend the book The First Move - it's centred around chess but also has other interesting themes around mental health. I quite enjoyed the book and I feel like you would as well

I read the Dance of Thieves duology w/out reading the first series and there’s ZERO correlation.. the DoT books have references to the past but I don’t this The Kiss of Deception even covers that timeline!! AND there’s no mention of magic in DoT.. just stardust (magic space dust that’s used for two scenes and forgotten about) in the second book and some gods and mythology

I didn’t read the prequel for dance of thieves and even tho I rly liked the book I had no idea what was going on bc I had no background info😭 so I’d say read dance of thieves bc you’ll actually know what’s going on and probably like it

1000% agree about the playing for keeps series. i tried reading consider me and only got to the 6% mark before i had to dnf. that book was so cringey gave me the biggest ick ever. i really wanted to like it bc the book covers are soooo pretty.

of course!! so you can read the main 6 books without or with the novellas. the novellas don't add anything to the main plotline, so you are not missing anything if you don't read them, but we get a few more kenji scenes that are super cute so i still recommend to read them:

I hateddd the remnant chronicles and actually dnfed the last book but dance of thieves is one of my favorites if not favorite fantasy books ever
I think the writing and story are sooo much better in the duology it was like night and day for me

Ich hab Kiss of Deception zweimal gelesen und es nicht geschafft mit der Reihe weiterzumachen, weil ich es so mies fand 🙈 und Dance of Thieves bzw Band 2 davon fand ich auch so unfassbar schlecht - ich kann die Reihe leider gar nicht empfehlen 😅

I’m late to this BUT… Dance of Thieves/Vow of Thieves are actually amazing, if you haven’t read them yet. I feel like the plots were slightly dragged out (the books take place over a super short period of time) but I enjoyed them and the romance was very engaging. I definitely wouldn’t not read them because the prequels were bad!!
