Tomb Raider Legend is one of the best in the whole series, the whole Legend trilogy is the best games IMO they are a must play!
Only saved the franchise. Not big deal...
The fact that they all have Platinum Trophies is amazing! They've even gone back and put the Platinum Trophy on Toy Story 2!

Tomb Raider Legend is awesome, my favorite from the Legend-Anniversary-Underworld trilogy, if u want to give it a chance I’d definitely recommend playing it!
I'm sorry but this is absolutely unacceptable. They didn't even bother to upscale it to at least 1080p. I can get a way better experience with the PC versions of these games or where the PC version doesn't exist I can emulate it. And that is at whatever resolution I chose (yes even 4k if that's what I want).

@@redhunnid5142Sure, we did come a long way but older games also look better at higher resolutions. Because I'm on PC, I basically have access to any game ever released for Windows and I sometimes replay older games. They look way better at 1920x1080 compared to 1280x1024 which was the resolution of my first monitor and what I played those games on originally.

@@redhunnid5142 It doesn't look the same bro, I play these at around 1440p on my Xbox Series X and it looks a lot cleaner, I could probably push 4k at full speed but my tv is 1080p so i settle for super sampling down from 1440p. I also have achievement support along with the PC players via RetroAchievements.
But I'm not gonna put to much of a downer on this, it's nice to see an official way to play one of my favourite platformers on a modern system in Sly Cooper, so if you got a PS4 or a PS5 enjoy. I also bought the ps4 version on my ps4 pro and honestly while it's not perfect it produces a much better image than a native ps2. It's not perfect but it's good enough.

My childhood games i remember playing tomb raider legend and i was stuck at the king Arthur's tomb puzzle after so many hours trying to solve it i managed to beat the level
There's an option in the emulation settings, you can change anything on the controller, I just swapped right/left to left/right on the right stick for the camera in Sly Cooper, fixed that inverted bollocks
I have no idea what "enhancements" is supposed to do, it did nothing and obviously broken
480p resolution... Where are the up-rendering features?! A free emulator does a better job then this.
And xbox series x does better
You can run theres games via the original PS4 emulator ( assuming you have a jail broken one) and they're 720p , so there's no excuse for this.

The ps2 games does look like it's running in a 1080p or higher resolution, then the normal native ps2 quality.

The fact we waited this long for PS2 emulation and this is the quality we're getting? It's very underwhelming. I'd rather emulate it on PC.
You don’t even necessarily have to emulate, at least Tomb Raider Legend, since you can just buy it anyway on PC for a better resolution as it’s own version
@Spoon_Loves_Nutella My point still stands. The PS5 emulation is not good enough. And the library is drip fed by 3 games a month usually. PS3 is going to take years for natively running on PS5 or more realistically PS6.
The emulator is still new, free one had years of support

The physical price for a ps2 game at comic con etc is about £25
If you go on ebay or a used store, Sly Cooper costs roughly $25. I could bring up Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is around $240. Toy Story 2 PS1 is around 25-40 dollars.

the recent trilogy has been on sale for probably less in total lol, I love legend but I'd just as easily play 2013 and Rise in place of it.

Your right about that price for TR Legend, that's insane especaily since the verion on the PS3 collection is better than the PS2 version.
If I can't unlock it with a disk copy this is a step back for backwards compatibility
Get a ps3 backwards compatible Frankenstein. That’s what I did. Got all the generations of PlayStation in two systems all running in HDMI.

The bare minimum while their previous effort upscaled PS2 games to 1080p with trophy support before they neglected it.
But still, save states on games that don’t need them except for a few early games.😄
you can use save states to completely skip boot up and initial load, so that's pretty neat

the 480p is disappointing and I wish they atleast upscaled the game...there is an enhancements option in the games but it doesn't seem to do anything right now...hopefully it gets patched in. That said, when I booted up Sly and added the CRT shader it actually didn't look bad IMO

I don't imagine you can use your PS2 discs like you can use XBOX discs on XBOX1 to get a download.

Microsoft doesn't do real backwards compatibility either. This is actually similar to what Microsoft had been doing. Only, Microsoft made it a lot more consumer friendly since you could use your physical disc to download the emulated copy. Not saying Sony is doing well in this regard but Xbox did not have real backward compatibility, there's a reason games got added over time and the vast majority of the back catalog is still not accessible.

@@Deadhead-kq4hr I believe for Xbox 360 games they are using some form of emulation, which is why you have access to the 360 dashboard. But even it they were all ports, it's still not real backward compatibility.

I must've completed TR: Legend about 50 times. Played it on PC, GameCube, GBA, DS and PSP, I really love that game 😁
Is this truly considered a victory? Because this older Tomb Raider game and its sequels have been available for purchase on Xbox Series X and on Game Pass with the DLC for several years now. They should have released all three and all the previous God of War games a long time ago.
Never played Sly either, have played TR: Legend though and I do recommend playing it, Lara can kick off the enemies too during conflict by jumping off them. Keeley Hawes was the best voice too imo for Lara Croft.
I’ve been playing that game on backwards compatibility on Xbox for years that’s awesome. You can play it now PS five

PS2 Emulation on PS4/PS5 isn't a new technology. but i'm glad there's more games. there should be A LOT more. they missed hte mark with PS2 on PS4 program back then. PS1 on PS3 was a fantastic experience.
all that said , if i already own these games i am 100% emulating them on PC instead
I hope they add Tekken 5 PS2 on ps5 just for trophies, doesn't matter since its easy to just play these on an emulator now lol. PS3 seems to be a little more difficult to emulate for some games

the rewind feature is so you dont have to save (unless you exit). that way you can just rewind

As an xbox gamer that still dips into ps games every now and then. Why is Tomb Raider legends running on a ps2 emu game an not a ps3 which had trophies to begin with? I understand the trophies but... Og xbox never had a emu of the game on current but had the 360 version available to play with achievements. Could have at least had a ps3 backwards compatible version running 1080p with original trophies in mind. Just doesn't seem fair honestly but that's just my opinion.

I still don't like the fact that you can only play the classic games if you've brought Playstation+ premium which is the more expensive tier, but if you can buy the games & play them without having premium, then I guess that's a positive.
