  • I have never welded in a patch pane and there was some rotted steel on the Coronet. I had bought a used quarter section from a guy named Scott, but I had to work up the courage to cut into my quarter panel.
Also, I had a big blowout of steel in the corner of the trunk gutter that I needed to work through.

That's funny. I wasn't sure what I could accomplish but I knew that if I took my time it would probably be ok.

The good thing about this is you can get to the back side. All you need to do is seal the back side with undercoating. That should keep the rust from coming back. Good job.

Thanks for the videos. I'm about to start on my '64, which I'm foolishly insisting i will do myself . I really wish I would have bought the rear wheel arch patch panels back when they were still available. I'm only showing a couple bubbles, but i can imagine i will need a pretty good sized patch once i get it exposed.

If you're working on a Dodge, I don't believe that they ever repopped the rears. I understand that Dodge was different every year for '63-'65, so don't beat yourself up.
I believe Plymouth is about to be repopped.

It's wild how the '65's almost all that have rust issues have them in EXACTLY the same places. Like @20:00 the wheel arches, mine, the previous owner's "bodywork" there is now "revealing itself" (bubbling) after 7 yrs. of my ownership. I can feel holes from back side of wheel arches.

Yeah I know it. Drew just finished his Demon and it has some rust creeping out from between a couple of seams that he missed. And that's just from washing it. Only way to keep them perfect is to keep them in a bubble.

Chuck I will buy that front corner of the passenger wheel opening if u still have it around. I found out Kramers only offers the 65 Plymouth quarter patch and they say there's a difference.

You know what, I still have it and it's yours. Now remember, it was from a 4 door. Send me an email and I'll send you a picture.

@@Chuck_House_of_Mopar Hey great. but I can pay you for it. I dont think theres a difference between 2 and 4 door. Wouldn tyou know that besides my sun roof issue that spot on the passenger rear wheel opening is the only place the car took a hit.

No one would see that trim gap, or think it wasn’t factory.
