- Investigating & Fixing the Engine warning light on dash & P0171 Fuel trim system lean fault code stored in engine ECU. Fault fixed by replacing the purge valve. This fault is also common on the Vauxhall Adam , Astra & various other models.

my corsa 1.2 from 2011 gives the same p0171 code but also the car goes up in rpms randomly. the rpm increases en drops down especially with the a/c turned on. do you think does could also be because of the leak?
Follow! Hi mate, i have an opel corsa e 1.4 gpl 90 cv, after i had code p0171 i changed the pcv valve like you did. The valve was broken, but the p0171 code is always there. I changed both lambda 50k km ago but they, it seems to me, are working. The second lmabda has 1.250 value when motor is cold and 0.6 0.7 when its hot. The first lambda goes from 0.1 to 0.75 periodically.
After i fixed the pcv, the motor has a better idling, but i guess it's a bit too much rough.
1 of 2 error code goes away (both p0171, suspended one was fixed, the permanent one is still there)
I believe (i checked the parameters) maf is ok, map too. I didn't checked very well the brake servo but i don't feel nothing wrong while braking.
The air doesn't spill through one way valve of the camshaft cover.
The short term regulation is around 0. Long term about 8-10, so i believe lambda are working and there is some air after the maf sensor...
What else i have to check? The intake gasket? Would you want to help me 😂

Could be the same thing or lambda sensor , hard to say without looking
I can't seem to release my valve on the Meriva B it seems welded to the pipe any suggestions how to release it with out cutting the pipe sheath please
Some of the later ones come with the pipe attached , it’s not meant to be removed 👍

Question for you I ha've a vectra c 1.8 z18xer petrol vvt.i have a slight issue were the rev needle fluctuates every now and then not all the time.i have smoke tested the intake and see smoke coming from the throttle body.heard these don't have a gasket on them ?was thinking of removing it and adding my own gasket or some sealant to see if that helps with the idle.any thoughts .Thanks in advance.
Thanks , I’d check with the dealer about a gasket.. I’d of thought it should have one .. if it doesn’t I wouldn’t use sealer though tbh , does it not have any fault codes?
@@diydaly Thanks for the reply. No fault codes cars runs fine no issues except now and again the idle will fluctuate .apart from smoke test which shows some smoke from throttle body.will check with dealer regarding a gasket .

hi there have the same fault code in my 2010 meriva 1.4 t could it be the same problem has done around 85000 miles thanks steve checksfield

Hi, does this fault occur on the 1.0L Corsa . Which would occasionally cause the car to cut out
Having an issue with a 2014 1.0L Corsa. Cuts out , looses power , then re-starts. Runs fine for a few days then cuts out again . Thanks
It doesn’t usually cause it to cut out tbh , might be worth checking your temp sensor
Once we replaced with new one, do i need to clear the fault code. I don't have like this tablet.

Hi mate will this probably also effect the car as in the engine cutting out while driving as if it had no fuel in it and when u try starting it again it just keeps turning over like there’s no fuel one minute then try again and it just starts up like there’s no problem? Hope this makes sense mate cheers

@@diydalyok cheers mate we’ll I took the valve off and could blow through it so it needs changing anyway and the light was coming off and on like you said but the car does cut out every now and then like there’s no fuel getting through and then will just turn over like there’s no fuel it does that a few times then try it again and it will start up straight away as if there was nothing wrong do u have any idea as to what it could be or I could try like is there air in the system or something do u think if so what’s the best way to go about getting the air out thanks mate
@@mikemarks8046 check the temp sensor readings , also possible crank sensor fault

Its a Vxr my cover doesn't have it
I’ve got a 1.2 Corsa. I got aa roadside, they diagnosed p0171.
Fuel correction.
Some symptom
- jerky driving
- high revving idle
- bad fuel efficiency
- acceleration not smooth
Someone please advise

Hey mate
It was a temperature sensor.
I changed two
Star line coolant sensor £10
Other one was thermostat sensor around £60 all on euro car parts .
Fan works normally
Winter and summer it regulates fine now
