I think they removed the 1971 Hawks because after Walt Bellamy died, they lost his rights via his camp and it made their team almost unplayable since they had 2 allstars but only like 4 players instead of 3 allstars.
If y’all wanna play with classic teams that aren’t in the official game I recommend playing with Mjwizards retro rosters. He creates the players that are missing from the current classic teams and he makes his own classic teams as well!
You forgot about the 08 Hornets from 2K18 & 2K19. Honestly idk how they don’t have more classic teams in the game and it annoys me that the Eras teams aren’t playable in Play Now cuz that could essentially add like 80 more classic teams. I seriously have made a list of like 60 or 70 fun historic teams that have at least 8 players in the game already and 2k could easily make, but for some reason none of them are in the game
Also I know Chris Webber isn't officially in the game anymore but I still was able to find his player model in the game so I could put him in if I were to make a roster but for the sake of making a list of teams 2k could officially add in you could easily replace them with the '19 Sixers

The 92 USA Dream Team with Barkley was removed. That should have been #1. They were included in 2k13 and 2k17. The 86 Rockets was never on NBA2k but I remember that with NBA 2k12 it could be easily modded and customized on any game system. There was a lot of hidden players in 2k12. You probably saw the 86 Rockets on a modified roster. That celebrity team was silly but I remember embarrassing my cousin with Justin Bieber, lol. Yeah as people mentioned the 84-85 76ers did not win the championship it was the 82-83 sixers who won it(wish that team would be included in future games tho)
Not that it matters to you but 2k17 had a bunch of Fiba teams (inc. the Australian Boomers), now that was a cool addition I wish they kept the rights to. Also NBA2k have partnered with the Australian NBL for promotion this year so maybe we will see NBL teams in a release one day?
