Oh no you don't get money for taking clips form movies oh no what are we going to do
Love the popular theory that Mason was really James Bond and that this was his last mission.
Its not a theory its confirmed 👍
@jamesmcstein6758 thank you...came here to say that....and JASON BOURNE IS REAL
@@jamesmcstein6758 Can't be. James Bond would never have been caught. And even if he was, Felix would have intervened.
@@specialk9424 bond wouldn't give up felix
Not a theory if you don’t want it to be.
Personally I Think You're A F**king Hero for this 4K quality.

RIP Sean Connery, man I love this movie, I have rewatched it so many times
Sean Connery is a legend
The minute Mason mention Her Majesty’s SAS, damn proud to be British 🇬🇧 😅
👏🏿👏🏿
+10000000000000000
They baddarse indeed.
Soon you shall have to be sorry because you're prideful about it.
Should addresses the General "General ,Bruv, innit"
Mason's subtle express when Baxter tells him to address Hummel as "general sir" was hilarious😂
It was something along the lines of what a kiss ass
Yeah, even the most patriotic flag-humping British squaddie would be like "Seriously? He's just fuckin' General, mate
I've never seen someone convey the "jerk me off" motion with just a subtle movement of the eyes before
I want to ressuruct these times in movies when these legendary actors were still active and alive and making these badass movies. Sean Connery, will always be the king.
He's dead, let it go.
@@Cowcow211 One never forgets a legend. That is if you're a millennial
@@eramos8916 🤣🤣🤣
You can tell Sean Connery is such a good actor by the way he was able to deliver the line "Her Majesty's SAS" with a straight face.
“Hi Sweetie.”
😂 that made me laugh so damn hard when I was a teenager watching this epic movie.
Jesus Christ, Sean Connery Sean Connery is so cool in this Movie it’s off the scale! … He owns every scene! RIP to a true Legend 💯🙏🏼
I bet Hummel got a bit nervous once Mason mentioned he was a SAS vet. As if he was no longer the uncontested top dog in the room.
Literally you can see that in this scene.
Nervous? Nah... respectful.
R.I.P Sir Sean Connery..The greatest James Bond ever!
This soundtrack is so underrated.
I've been listening to Hans Zimmer like two decades now
I love this movie. One of top favorites for sure. The sound track is amazing
'Of Her Majesty's SAS!!' He need say no more
I wonder if he accidentally saud of Her Majesty's Secret Service during the takes. Just cause.
This is one of the great movies released in the 90's. It had everything. RIP Sean.
Connery, Harris, Cage! What a Movie!
I always feel goosebumps when Mason walks down the aisle. No hesitations, just pure bravery.
Love this movie. Usually not a fan of Mr. Bay but the actors made this movie, especially Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage. And despite being Hans Zimmer soundtrack, this one is actually very good too.
So this is what happened to 007 in his old age 🙄
Better than being blown off to sea on a Japanese poison island, eh?
There's a theory that James Bond/007 is an alias assigned to MI6 agents and that Mason was one of them.
The last mission of Mr Bond 🙂
@@Mrraugut Not a theory Sean's character here was indeed inspired by his 007 character set after his last bond film
@@Mrraugutso true. They should’ve offered John
Mason a different drink instead of coffee.. martini. Shaken….not stirred 😂👍
This movie is peak 90's right here! Love this movie, saw it in the theater with my Dad when it came out as a teenager.
Sir Sean Connery's last Bond movie ..... even down to the Bond British accent, he hasn't done that in a long time
He literally has the same accent in every movie.
The accent is Scottish. Connery himself has stated he never hides his accent in any role.
@@eugeneenegue3648 he did while doing Bond
@@eugeneenegue3648 Scottish is a British accent, as are English and Welsh accents. Scotland is in Britain, so is England and Wales.
I'm an Englishwoman, my friend is a Scotswoman, and we're also both British as we live on an island called Great Britain. Hope this is of help.
Someone pointed this out to me when you join the SAS if you're an officer you start at Lt. regardless of your previous rank. The fact he's a Captain means he has been in some tough situations and led men in desperate situations and more than likely has buried empty coffins. Hummel being a General would at least know this and you can see that he respects Mason as a fellow warrior of the field.
Um, everyone starts at LT. Everywhere, not just SAS.
@@user-zq5jd7ee9n yes but if your an officer in the SAS and you were a higher rank in the other regiment you were in that doesn’t transfer.
@@Hesitatedeye Gotcha. But that type of situation was not implied by the first comment. That is a really specific situation not seen in most other units. Is logical, though.
I believe the SAS and SBS are the only units in the army and navy that you can’t join straight away as a recruit. Have to have served in other units before can apply for the likes of the SAS and SBS.
@@sparky4878correct you have to pass selection from another regiment first.
2:35 I’ve always found this drop-dead hilarious… 😂😂😂
So many good actors in this movie 😁😁😁 One of my favorites
Love this movie. Saw it when it came out in theaters.
I actually noticed interesting small details in how these actors move their weapons. At 1:37, the dude on the right lowered his rifle so the Major can move behind Mason without being in a cross fire.
Such an awesome cast. Imagine if this movie had a GOOD director like John McTiernan.
I miss the Brukheimer/Cage movie partnership. They made so many great movies together. Still hoping they'll give us 1 more. National Treasure 3
I just love the contrast between Mason and Goodspeed's reactions. Goodspeed is at once overcome by the moral dilemma on his hands. Mason has absolutely no hesitation. Bad guy has told us what he wants? Immediately destroy it so there can be no negotiation or compromise.
Mason knew the greater. One hostage for potential trade for all of SF?
"Retired of course" 😅
Retiah'd of corsh
So many great scenes in this movie, but this is my favorite.
Bloody brilliant her majesty's SAS 🇵🇹🇬🇧❤️
Was commander Bond SAS? Got me thinkin now...is that a sort of easter egg. Wasnt Bond secret service
@@pinball2k6
Bond was a Commander in the Royal Navy Submarine Service.
From there he was recruited into MI6.
It's like the movie released yesterday. Keep up the god's gift you have.....
Sean Connery has aged gracefully. He looks pretty good for his age then. 👍🏻
I like the theory that Mason is one of the agents who uses the Bond legend identity, might have been fun to have a sequel with the other older actors in various camps around the world as well - perhaps Moore or Dalton in some Soviet gulag somewhere?
Roger Moore won't be possible for a long time. He has been in heaven playing James Bond for a long time since 2017.
@@moviesandpopcorn2958 that would pose a difficulty, but i had meant in the late 1990's when he was still around - seem to recall he was envious of Connery's payday 🙂
Connery himself confirmed in an interview that this was intended to be a follow up to Never Say Never Again.
@@kmoecubIronically, that's the one Connery Bond film it doesn't fit with.
Knowing that it's actually James Bond makes it all even better
I own this movie on DVD since forever and looking forward a 4K release of it on disk 😁 The visuals are stunning!
0:55 that music & that scene. Brilliant! I miss movies like these. Great plot. Amazing performance by actors. Good action hero male role models. Now it's terrible jokes. Teen drama. Go woke or broke.
woke is when teen drama and jokes
What a brilliant film this was one of the best
For those wondering the "thumbs up" Mason (Connery) gives Goodspeed (Cage) in this scene was a nod back to the Ancient Roman Colosseum days where a thumbs up meant LIVE and a thumbs down mean DEATH.
What a fantastic final outing for the original 007.
The Rock is basically a James Bond movie, John Mason is James Bond.
@@yokiryuchan7655 I'm revising my prior comment. The filmmakers should have gone all the way and had Connery state his name as, "Bond, James Bond, Commander in Her Majesty's Royal Navy, Sir." People would have jumped through theater roofs around the world!
@@rochskier Because Sean Connery already played James Bond, a character that's pretty much identical to John Mason in his younger days, it's very easy to envision what John Mason was like in his prime.
Mason was SAS special Air Service not a commander in the Royal Navy which 007 was and also if you ask any britsh serving personnel they wouldnt' sully their service by saying they serve with a rival service.@@yokiryuchan7655
@@yokiryuchan7655Bond was the active duty cover name.
Thumbs up, classic!

Wow, this 4K UHD looks really nice
One of "the best" of all time!
0:57 Never gets old.
I love this movie
"Mashon shir, retired of courshhe"
HM SAS, holds so much more respect!!
Excellent movie
This movie made me love Ed Harris's acting
I’ve always seen this as an unofficial final “Connery as Bond” movie…
Watching sir Sean Connery may he rip walking between the prison cells to the sound of music by the great hans zimmer in my pov is one of the great scenes in modern cinema.
That's a great stroll he takes, with the hostages reaching out for him. Connery had that natural swagger that came thru on screen. Didn't have to act. He just was the real thing..One of the last old school movie stars.
I love the rock
This looks so good, jesus christ when will they release this movie on 4K?
The single best James Bond movie ever made ❤
Great movie
The real Captain Price!
Michael bay movie with hans Zimmer score
Bad ass action sequences
Damm i really miss old action movies soo much
Actually its a few movies villian ideas where right
General hummel
Ed Harris is Cool 😎
This is the original captain price
In my heart of hearts I know that in at least one take, after Ed Harris asks "who the hell are you?" Connery comes down those stairs and answers "Bond....James Bond."
"If 1.5 is the answer, what is the question?"
"Is is 'How many times does James Bond say his name when he introduces himself?'"
How do we get Michael Bay to make films like this again? I think he has to be put on a leash to do his best work, because when he's just let run riot we get Transformers, but this is still such a great film.
Retired , of course
This is under no circumstances a bond movie. Two different characters and backgrounds.
Hummel's opening scene of the movie set the tone I think. Hard to look at him and say "He's the villain". Ed Harris really delivered here.
I can only imagine how long Hummel planned this out, waiting until after his wife passed. Knowing he couldn't bear her disappointment in him if she knew.
Kickass move all around. I keep coming back to Hummel though. Knowing all this was him trying to do right by the people he lost over his career to bureaucracy and political maneuvering.
His actions were questionable but his reasons were understandable..he felt betrayed by the country he spent his whole life defending
dude the quality
Good movie
The most James Bond trope of all. Engage the baddie in a long truncated conversation while their plan unravels.
Womack tore up your pardon john
If OG Capt. Price was a movie character
Best Bond film, ever.
"I was trained by the best, British Intelligence"
Sean is so bad ass, so Alpha. We don't get to male movie stars like that now.
Rip Sean Connery
Best, James Bond movie around
Sean Connery stayed handsome
Sir.Cap.Conery...
Eterno 007...
For me the best Bond Movie 😉
It's a long held belief that "Mason" was a pseudonym being used by a certain member of Her Majesty's Secret Service.
There was a lot of machinery activity on Alcatraz considering the prison had been shut down for years and only open to tourists.
I wonder if the "high sweetie" part, got anyone to join the marines.
You want to fight me? Okay, I give up.
Marines would never cross fires the way the actors did when sean connery walked between them
Shaken, not stirred 😂👍
Oh yeah I forgot that The Rock fucking rules
Did he say "my name is Harry Henderson.?"
Dr. Henry Walton Jones Sr. aka Captain John Patrick Mason, General, sir, of Her Majesty’s Special Air Service.
Retired, of course.
This is 007 James Bond in disguise.
The clip ended just before that classic line:
"Personally I think you are a fucking idiot. SIR!"
It is been comented here, yet, every time i read it makes more sense that Mason it is actually Connery's bond. Even more, in Flemming novels he is captures abiut the same time Maons did
When you have to shoot, shoot, dont talk.
Bond, James Bond.
2:17 My name is Bond, James patrice Bond
