That attention to detail is greatly appreciated by Me, because body language is a genuine form of communication that people can’t hide (usually).

Ed Harris was perfect for this role. It’s not very often where the villain can be relatable, have a change of heart and sacrifice themself for the greater good.
Right? They're so eager to kill that they don't even care who, it's frightening. Hummel only sees them as fellow Marines as honorable as he is. That's his fatal flaw. It never occurs to him until it's too late that they could be psychopaths who only see the uniform as a means to kill.
Not sure what the general was expecting. The other guy was right. As soon as they took innocent people hostage, they became mercenaries (or more accurately, terrorists) and they were no longer marines.
They had to leave the place anyways. The island became a bombing target the moment they shot the first rocket, either hit or miss. Only one gamble was going to pay off and it was the Goverment's. Fault is on whoever of Hummel's men got those two captains on board.

There needs to be a company out there that teaches actors how to wear a military beret. Popping that thing on your head Girl Scout style, strips away military authenticity in a movie quicker than anything...it's ridiculous!

They want compensation while he was foolish enough to believe they would be loyal to him, as if the world revolved around him. The day ALL of them decided to betray their congress is the day ALL of them decided they would no longer respect the chain of command yet he was foolish enough to believe they wouldn't turn on him too. He used and lied to them the same as his congress used and lied to him therefore what was the difference?
