Every time I watch The House I shed a tear for our poor mate Paul, you were such a bright spark that burned out too soon.
Kind of eerie how at one point he puts a toy gun to his head in this video.......................whether or not that's how he died, it's still eerie. He is still terribly missed.

I grew up with Split Enz in NZ and then crowded House when I moved to Australia. The Finn Brothers are rock royalty! Love these bands!
Life on the road can be pretty lonely at times but listening to this is like coming home to your best mates no matter where you are
Wow, I grew up on this song. 1986 in Melbourne was a such a special time and place. This is the first time I've ever watched this video but it doesn't change the images I have in my head when I hear this song.

Never saw this before. One of the best lead tracks to an album ever, and a great album. Great a capella start. Very energetic and catchy. Love the harmonies at 2:15 (second verse). Very nice rhythm guitar part as well.

I remember seeing this video and going out the next day to buy the album (on cassette, natch) and then being somewhat stunned a few months later to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" become a smash hit. Still one of the few times I was on board with a band before they became superstars.

I've gotta say something about a song from Split Enz which lead onto Crowded House. "I walk away" was a forgotten track in 84 and still is. Its a brilliant song and very underated. Reminds me of a lovely girl from North Fitzroy I met on the CB radio in 1984. I should never have walked away from her.
Used to see Nick Seymour driving around the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne back around the time this music video was made in that very same car.
This guys were great musicians.

We all love Crowded House so much, I’ve only been to four concerts in my life and TWO of those were Crowded House in 80’s-90’s, living on the east of coast of the US. (Partially hearing impaired.)

except for when NEIL was a complete count at falls festival. this kiwi was there so proud and so excited there only to see Neil and his son and her Neil's Incredible voice and songs. and he was such an arsehole. take g the puss out of crowd singing John Farnham etc. BROKE MY HEART. I was there from the start with nail and Tim. took my sis to split enz concert for her 16th no better way to celebrate. my mum went to school with Tim. such moving music though so I can't let it go.

If this song doesn’t take you back to a childhood memory then are you really an Australian millennial? How this is in the soundtrack of every road trip when I was a kid I will never know but it’s always been there.

Always loved this tune especially. I can’t imagine how awful & uncomfortable it must be to be cornered by some potentially psycho fan. Although in all fairness, it’s quite a trip from the States all the way down to NZ, Australia & Oceania. So if you’re not crackers when you leave the States you could very well be nuts when you get off that jet. As you yourself must know from your trips from home to the States. My hubby & I have made that flight from Dallas to French Polynesia twice and nearly went nuts. And we’ve been to more than 15 countries. Anyway, from Split Enz to Crowded House, thanks for the 🎶!
