Let's paint a loose watercolor flower. This Watercolor tutorial will go in close to realtime while I walk through everything I was thinking about while painting this flower. I used techniques like wet on wet painting, sketching, edge control, water control and watercolor washes to achieve a fun loose watercolor flower and bee.

Wow...amazing! I learned about you through Emma Jane Lefebvre.
I like the longer detailed teachings.
You made one little balm flower into a work of art. Lovely
Thanks!
So HAPPY that @emmalafebvre recommended this channel! Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of WC knowledge and skills! ❤❤
Welcome!
Good explanation of why you do what you do. thanks.
Helpful. Make more. Teach more. Me wants to learn
Yes, the longer version is helpful.
Wonderful!
Love when we see your reference. Love your style
I'm really happy I found you! I just started doing water colour as a way to destress and I never understood how different tones interact to make something more vibrant. You make it very easy to understand 😊
Glad it was helpful!
You really know your stuff. Very helpful. I like the split screen presentation and commentary on what you did. I haven't seen that before. I love the purple underpainting. I'm gonna do that! You have a great face and really nice speaking manner.
Hey, thanks!
i love watercolour and this channel is just, wow! howwww do you watercolour so good!
Thanks! Welcome to the channel!
this is soooooooooooooo good keep going love your videos!
Oh my god…..thank you lol this is awesome
Lovely
Excellent explanations and techniques 😊
Love the colors❤
I LOVE the final result!
Quick question: if you wanted to do the background too, it would have been better to paint it before the flower, or is it fine to add it after too?
Depends on the subject?m, But usually you can add after, just have to be careful with the edges
You are brilliant! Thanks for the insightful tutorial
I like this painting a lot.
It’s not an easy one.
Painting big petals are fairly easy to learn, but this type of flower is mega detailed.
Good job!
- I doubt that I could do it without wc pencils. Lol
It can be tricky!
Thank you! Very helpful tutorial.
Going to try starting out my paintings like you do! So interesting!
Would you do some more large flowers and plants😊
Lovely! What brand do you use?
Is this considered under painting?
Thanks for this, it is beautiful, loose and lively. Your choice of leaving this without background gives this more volume, the right decision. I like the commentary -and wow, this took 1 h. Time lapse can be tricky. I am curious to learn more about your colour choices as well. Some unsolicited and well meant feedback: I find having a three way divided screen somewhat distracting. I would prefer a bigger area for the painting and the reference photo instead. I find that having a section where the artist includes him/herself doing the voice over while painting does not really add much to the process itself. Instead, an opening and closing segment where you offer an introduction or a closing statement might be another way to keep you in the picture (pun intended) and maintain focus on the painting. I appreciate the time and effort it takes to film and am ever so grateful for these videos, as a recent subscriber to your channel.
This is super helpful feedback! I want to keep it somewhat more lively, and it feels like pure voice over can get stale. But I’ll keep experimenting!
Thanks for subscribing, I appreciate it!
@@dannydrwing Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am now going through your back catalogue and getting lots of ideas for new paintings. Thanks again!
Awesome! I’m always open to suggestions as well! :)
