Tomjanovich wrote a book about it that is really good! It would make for a good video topic for sure.
There's a bunch of videos and articles about it but I'd still love to get a video with some medical explanations. Because a lot of Tomjanovich's injuries from it have been kind of "mythologized" and exaggerated in the process, so it would be good to have a medical professional get to the bottom of what the real damage was. Plus, as someone who doesn't know so much about this stuff a lot of it needs explaining. I remember reading somewhere that he dislocated his face. And I saw a video of Tomjanovich in an interview saying he was going to surgery to get his tear ducts reconstructed. Like what do those things even mean lol

I believe the top is there for stability. If it was just on his mouth, it would constantly slide off.

I always though corrective goggles (Kurt Rambis, Horace Grant), were more strange than masks protecting a physical injury. I'd think 20/20 vision is pretty much a prerequisite for pro sports, but the story behind Tomljanovic's mask is brutal
"Iso Joe" Johnson who played for the Phoenix Suns could have gone on the list. He smacked the floor pretty hard with his face, and the fracture to his eye socket looked bad, but he had one of the more standard masks.
