He was Sam Cooke best friend and his eyes were on Sam's wife, After Sam Cooke was killed, Bobby married his wife. He was blasted by the black community and Sam's other friends!
What???💔🥲
And Sam's brothers went after him and beat his a--.
Not only did Bobby go after Sam's wife, but he had an affair with and married his brother's wife.
They black balled him in the music industry after that.
@@bakercarl8518 I didn't know that, I knew that he married the wife and I knew one of the brothers married the daughter and they made music together but didn't find out about Bobby's situation with the daughter until about 2 years ago. He still made some good music. Mary Wells was married to 2 of the Womack brothers and she had children by both, people are only human and they make mistakes and we have to forgive. Thanks for the info.
This is both the coldest and realest song ever.
Fellas pay attention...The older artist spoke on EVERYTHING ❤🔥💯
Check out "If You Think You're Lonely Now" that's another Bobby Womack classic!
Oh, and check-out the OJ's "Backstabbers." Same song, second verse.
Shawn got some menacing looks on this here. Best not play, fellas.🤣😂🤣🥰🥰
Also, too, another Bobby Womack song is 'Where Do We Go From Here?' React to that one to see what it is all about.
"If you think you lonely, now wait until tonight"
Bobby Womack!
Please & thank you! G.O.A.T.
This was a real experience for him with the late great Sam Cooke.
The backstory is so crazy
Robert Dwayne Womack (3/4/1944-6/27/2014) The singer, songwriter, musician and producer Beginning in 1950 as lead singer for the Valentinos as Sam Cooke back up guitarist. His career span some 50 years. His style was R&B,SOUL ROCK AND ROLL, DOO-WOP and GOSPEL. Some of his hits:"THAT'S THE WAY I FEEL ABOUT CHA", "WOMAN'S GOTTA HAVE IT", "HARRY HIPPIE" He also has a cover of Neil Diamond's "SWEET CAROLINE "
Across 110th Street is awesome.
@@DawnSuttonfabfour Oh yeah forgot about that one! The jam!!
That " Harry Hippie" ..is Truth! One of my favorites...
This is a true story Bobby said so himself.
It's just a song ya'll, my generation didn't get overwhelmed over songs we sung along with them. Love Bobby, go down the rabbit hole please.
One thing I’ll give to Bobby: He was VERY transparent about his feelings lyrically. Never has being underhanded, lustful, and covetous sounded so good…LMBO!!! Respect and RIP to the Poet…and he know it!
well said.
Dr Hook - "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman" tells the story from a not too trusting husbands point of view and is well worth a listen.
One of my favorite soul singers. What a voice. Wish the brothers would bring this kinda back. 😊
I love their reaction to the songs they play! ❤️😂
Thank you so much Mary😀❤️
I’ll #NeverForget their jaws going slack on the first few bars of Curtis Mayfields Pusherman 😭😭😭
My favorite of Bobby Womack is “Across 110th Street” (1973), the theme from the movie of the same name. Great tune. I first heard that song during my first watch of the movie. In 2010, Bobby Womack and Mos Def were featuring on the Gorillaz song, “Stylo” from the Plastic Beach album. Fantastic video for “Stylo”, too. 💜
Bobby Womack , is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "If you think your lonely now".
Bobby Womack married Sam Cooke's wife after he passed away so the song is basically about them, Bobby was black balled from the industry for a while, but they couldn't stop his writing abilities, so he eventually came back with a whole bunch of hits.
The look on your faces was PRICELESS 😂
specially when he said "I can't help but hopin that he never comes home" lmfao he sang that shit with all his soul. 😂
Bobby- WE don't have a problem...YOU have a problem
He giving truthful about his feelings, he pleating how twisted he about it.
She also feeling the same as he was.
Peoples trust only go's so far before this happens.
Sad part about it this song was based on actual events in his life.
Real life song.
That’s absolutely correct. Bobby Womack was talking about Sam and Sam’s wife in that song. Matter of fact, Sam was murdered. Bobby did say in his song ‘I hoped that he(Sam) never come home.’ Bobby came to Sam’s funeral with Sam’s wife. He was wearing Sam’s suit and driving Sam’s car. Bobby married Sam’s wife two months after the funeral.
WOW!!! Speak the truth Bobby...so many people are unaware!! 💯
That's The Blues. We share OUR pains, problems, heartaches & misery thru the tones and tunes of OUR lives thru The Blues. This is case in point!
He giving real truth here 💯 percent,
This song is so well written. My cousin asked me to go by and check on his ole lady while he was out of town. I said boy!!!
They could tell a story in a song back then! Check out anything by Johnny Taylor as well. Jody's got Your Girl, Wall to Wall, Cheaper to Keep her, just to name a few.
Pretty sure Bobby wrote this about him and Sam Cooke's wife. Cos Bobby married her just months after Sam Cooke was murdered. And Bobby was Sam Cooke's lead guitar player. I know it really hurt his career, cos everyone was outraged. He and Sams wife eventually divorced. True story.
Bobby Womack can outsing most of the soul greats. It's his growl and energy that gets me. I believe he's one of Rod Stewart's favourite singers. Please react to his duet with Patti Labelle 'Love has finally come at Last'. Probably the best duet ever, better than Patti and Michael McDonald's 'On My Own'.
BROTHERHOOD BABY!!!!
“ME and MRS JONES” by Billy Paul.
Or ... “(IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG) I DON’T WANT TO BE RIGHT “ by Luther Ingram.
Check out , A woman's got to have and That's the way I feel about you and Stop on by. Just to name a few, he has quite a few.
He even wore sam Cookes suit to the funeral... and years later he started dating Sam's daughter too
It's a true story!
Yeah its all true about him and Sam Cooke. But this man became an R&B legend in is own right. He was a brilliant guitar player and a hell of a song writer. He gave us songs like A woman's got to have it, Stop on By, Thats the way I feel about you, If you think your lonely now, Harry Hippie, Games, and No matter how high I get I'll still be looking up to you. RIP Bobby
I love Bobby Womack! Especially, “That The Way I Feel About Cha!” Some trivia regarding Bobby Womack. He married Sam Cookes, widow. Yes! Sam Cooke was shot, & soon after, Bobby married, the late, Sam Cooke’s wife. Now, what does that sound like???!!!!
All his songs he lived it
"You're Welcome. Stop On By" by Bobby Womack is my favorite. Try it for yourselves and see.
B.B. KING made a song in it that says : Don't let the milkman in when I'm not home.
Yes! It really happened to him!!
Bobby Womack was a genius ! His best songs that you need to hear are …. If you think you’re lonely Now & No matter how high I get I’ll still be looking up to you !
A woman's gotta have it...and Harry Hippie by Bobby Womack
The one's closest to you become the most envious 50 Cent
It’s known that the song was about Sam Cooke and him getting with Sam’s widow.. but fun fact, Bobby Womack pulled up on Sam’s older brother, Dale Cooke, so that he could try fixing the situation. He knew Dale wanted to beat his ass, and once he saw Dale, he told him to do what he needed to do.. which led to Dale knocking him out
I heard that this was a true story. But it does happen, alot! It shouldn't, but it does.
On a happier note, I'm loving your hair today Mel. ❤🎼🎤💃
Hey Kim, you’re right about that. Thank you❤️😀
LMAO! Bobby Womack is a bad bad man. You guys should check out his song, "If you think you're lonely now" .
No wonder why bobby Womack said we have a problem.
Love it

about you
Sam Cooke is my Dad's all time artist and you can't tell him other wise. Bobby was s......... and put out a song about it. R.i.P to SamCooke
Bobby and his brothers had a group in the 50's or early 60's called The Valintinos and they made a song called I'm looking for a love check it out. He later became Sam Cooke's guitarist. I don't know how many songs he had with his brothers that's the only one l'm familiar with.
Bobby took this song from his own life.
You two have got to listen to Bobby womack's, "Where Do We Go From Here." If you can squeeze that one in, you won't be disappointed. 😁 The lyrics are simply beautiful, imo. One of my favorites from him. A true genius he was. ☺️
The Sam Cook song❤❤❤
This was the best reaction video EVER!
Owwwwww!!! FIRE! Never heard this song before ..... LOVE it :-)
I had to learn this lesson the hard way.
For some reason that little fist pump he does in the first chorus is just so damn funny
He married Sam Cooke's widow and his brother married Sam's daughter and they had 3 daughters that sing really well, check them out on CZcams.
He was sleeping with the same daughter that married his brother
@@37kdparker He did, the mother caught them in bed, the girl was only 16 at the time and she and her mother never spoke to one another again. Sad.
@LadyCharlie Stallworth yeah I know I hit almost by mistake lol thank u for correcting that for me
@@37kdparker I didn't want to add those bad parts, but I have said it now and can't take it back. You're welcome.
Bobby Womack, in my dumb opinion, is one of the best 3 vocalists to have ever lived. Love his voice.
Who were the other two🤔
@@tdjakes121 I tried coming up with 3 and couldn’t lol. I like raspier voices so for me it’s like Bobby Womack, Wilson Pickett, Don Henley, Teddy Pendergrass, Bonnie Raitt, David Ruffin can all interchangeably be top 3 for me.
@@tdjakes121David Ruffin
@@PhoenixRising82672 DEFINITELY!
Nothing happens by itself self ,it takes two.
REMEMBER.
I’m Looking For A Love, A Woman’s Gotta Have It, Harry Hippie, If You Think You’re Lonely Now, California Dreaming, Stop On By.

One of my favorite all time artists.
Hi guys! Please do a reaction to "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye. It is one of the sexiest songs ever written, and Mr. Gaye sang it so well!
Check out California Dreaming & Across 110th street by Bobby Womack

New subscriber here!!! Love love love your channel. Keep up the good work!
The Rolling Stones first gold record was written by Bobby Womack “It’s all over now”. It was going up the charts for Bobby and his band “The Valentinos”. Sam Cooke convinced Bobby to let the Stones record it. They got the gold record and Bobby got the royalties. Bobby sang it on the Letterman show with its “World’s Most Dangerous Band”. Please take a look! Such a talent: recorded at Muscle Shoals with the best of the best😎
Song suggests vulnerability is fragile
True story
Gotta listen to his soulful version of Fly me to the Moon!
ACROSS 110TH STREET. fo sho
#ShawnandMel ... Bobby Womack, This is the ONE right here... He has some of the most Direct Lyrics in his songs... His Back Story is Crazy also.... The story is that he was mentored by Sam Cooke when he turn from singing Gospel to secular music; after Sam Cooke was Murdered, Bobby married is Widow... Bobby says it was to protector from all the family that would be trying to still her inherited money... But the Family was mad and wanted to Kill Him...
So his songs and his life were kind of a Mirror to each other... LOL !!!
Wow!!! This is shocking
The song is decades old
Mel when your head stopped nodding in mid stream, I'm sorry but I couldn't help but laugh. Your amazing!!!
Hey Sis Tea, lol thank you so much 😀❤️
Someone has already mentioned this, but "When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman" 1978 by Dr Hook is a little bit on the same wavelength as this song. But it's still one of my favourites. & "Better Love Next Time" 1979 by Dr Hook, is also a great song.
Bro this the most classic reaction ever... Y'all really didn't see that coming... R O T F L M A O
Best friend
Listen to Isaac Hayes, I Stand Accused, this song’s story is similar to I Wish He Didn’t Trust MeTo Much.
As a man when I was younger and was with a woman I loved I didn’t even trust my brothers with my wife and in fact a so- called friend of mine who worked at the same company I worked at side by side one night got sick (or so he said) and left but he didn’t go home he went to my home.. my wife told me and I never looked at that guy as a friend again and my trust in males when it came to my woman was over .🤷🏾♂️
We definitely have a problem
You Me and He Mtume
Play Bobby Womack that's the way I feel about you
