Meet Count Binface - the "intergalactic space warrior" challenging UK’s Rishi Sunak

- One candidate served as the United Kingdom’s most recent prime minister and currently leads the Conservative Party. Another claims to be from space, has promised to “build at least one affordable house, which is more than all the other parties can muster between them” and wants to force all former prime ministers to enlist in the army.
They are both running to win the same riding in England’s north - one of them more satirically than the other. But because of British election procedure, win or lose, Rishi Sunak will stand on the same stage on Thursday night as Count Binface, whose head is a silver garbage bin and who dresses in all silver, including a cape.
The procedure “is the great leveler of Earth democracy, and I think it is fantastic,” Binface told Global News. “It’s the wonder of democracy... I’m here to cherish it, defend it and celebrate it."

Count binface and the youtuber Niko Omilana are pretty great people. Neither of them are probably ever going to win but that doesn’t stop them from challenging the system every year any way. They represent young people in their own way

Sunak was given an impossible job - I'm not saying I would have ever voted for him, but I do feel a bit sorry for him. Ever since the disaster of Truss, the fate of the Tories was sealed. There was no coming back from that. One could well argue that its fate was sealed since Boris, but there was enough time to turn things around after him, and that chance was squandered. I feel the put Sunak in the role as PM as a sacrifice - they know they will lose, so put in someone that will take the loss, retire in disgrace and then the "serious" candidates will have the next shot at becoming PM.
How long until he gets out of the UK? He knows more than anyone that it's sort of a sinking ship, and with his billions, I suspect he will suddenly find himself a consulting job in the US or India or Australia.
