Hello viewers!
Let's visit a brand-new metro station in Paris. 5 billion euros are invested in the extension of the line E. Today 3 stations have opened its door to the public and 10 more are scheduled for 2026. Let's visit together one station among the three.
First 4 photos are taken from the web site www.rer-eole.fr

That backdrop is stunning, I wish my city had this kind of entrance to its business district
Thank you !
Wow, looks stunning. Wish we had more stuff like this in the US but there is more development around trains happening nowadays. No platform screen doors is surprising though
we still have 3 different rolling stocks with various doors placement on this line consequently, complex platforms doors with train recognition and sliding wall for adjusting the screens doors would be required and need modification on existing trains and at high cost. The solution exist in Japan on the newest Osaka station but should not be cheap : czcams.com/video/lmtFfWzf6sg/video.htmlsi=UQ_lgG58XtgtMU6t
When it comes to public transit, Paris is pretty much in the top 3 of the world, if not number 1. When it comes to design, it definitely is number 1!
I agree! Thank you.
I agree! Paris is #1 for the nicest public transit and Montreal is #2 (I love their Métro!)
I want you guy's to visit japan, china, South Korea lol
Wow paris paris yea I can hardly wait to go back there again yes next year
this looks like a hotel in las vegas
So Paris has a new RER Violet Line or 'E' Train. And the station's beautiful! It's so nice, it could double as a museum of contemporary art.
No, the line is there since 1999 lol theyve added 3 new stations
@@rayanefr2818 'k Thanks
Beautiful station, but the train platform is so far away from the entrance to the station. Looks more like an airport terminal.
I thought all new stations were getting the platform security doors now. I guess not.
It's because there are 3 different types of trains on this line with different wagon length. And also the electric cables are not on a rail on the ground like with metros.
RER is not the Paris Metro… RER is the regional service of SNCF
RER A ratp RER C D and E Sncf RER B sud ratp and nord sncf !!!! and yes it's the boxon my captain
I wish Kazakhstan had this
They should add protective enterances, in order to prevent weather related corrosion
Yes i agree
I can't imagine how much it will cost to clean that place and keep it maintained. It is fabulous , more like a museum instead of a Transportation Hub
Keep it maintained will be difficult but the responsability goes also to users.
@@xplore-634 That's why in the United States we can't have nice things! 😭😭
They really do transit better than any other country on the planet.
Thank you !
Normal ont est les meilleurs niveau transport
I.m surprised there are no protective gates next to the trains! The double decker cars are really cool! Inside is like riding in a rainbow!
The double decker train are a solution to increasing number of people taking public transport.
you don't have screen doors on RER only on subway because you have 3 materials for the moment with different doors positions
and it's less risky because the electricity doesnt pass on a 3rd rail
+ ti's heavy rail you can't have a precision break like subways
@@thunderbolt8409we say metro not subway. It's not America!
@@michelder6950 Nothing to do with "America." It's city specific. In DC, we call it metro. In LA and Miami, metrorail. In Boston and New York it is called subway.
@@liamhuges In France we say metro in french anyway. But as a french myself, I would sometimes translate it as subway because idk it sounds more english and I don't really know the difference in meanings between these 2 english words. I think it is probably the same for the first comment
Paris the best! So cool
I'm amazed by the beauty of the station!
@@xplore-634 wait for the grand Paris express station it gonna be as beautiful but 68 stations not only 3
Super ! Paris 👍🥂perfekt
Thank you !
Amazing!
Thank you !
Can't leap over the entrance like you can a turnstile. Also a pretty good size platform.
Yes I agree. In some station with similar entrance, if 2 people try to pass the entrance at the same time, the doors do not open. There is a detection of how many people trying to pass the entrance at the same time. A great innovation !
No English at the turnstile
Note that there is plenty of room for walking… keep fit, Parisian
Gorgeous. Too bad they haven't installed platform screen doors.
It was also my expectation. Some Parisien stations do have platform screen doors. Maybe they will install it later on a second phase...
Platform screen doors have been installed on the Metro line 1 long ago when the automated -driverless- metro trains were implemented on that line. The video showed the suburban train network (RER) that -as far as I can remember- will not be automated in the next years.
So you take the RER if you want to move faster over a larger distance within Paris or to its suburbs, you take the metro or bus if you must be somewhere in the very dense network of Parisian metro and bus lines.
@@aapje180 Thank you for the clarification!
Super 👍no 1
looks like a gaudy version of most of the new metro stations in Sydney Australia
I trust they have lifts as well
The architecture and design does not feel cohesive but a viewing IRL would be needed to really see.
D unbeatable Paris!
Beautiful! The French is always ahead in style and trend, but sometimes too trendy. I don't know how the wooden floor will sustain foot traffic over time. I still prefer the look of London's new Elizabeth line, though.
Personally, I don’t think the exposed concrete works very well aesthetically. It’s definitely very unique, though.
New York has had Santiago Calatrava's $4 billion subway stop at the World Trade Center since 2016. I bet that beats any billion dollar station in Paris.
That's not a competition though
the purpose of this RER E station and to relieve the RER line A because there are too many people at rush hour the station was built under a building which and remain open during the work the building is lifted on hydraulic jacks while he was digging the station it is a technical feat if the station has better weather but that is not the primary objective
I really like the work of Calatralva, he makes very beautiful buildings at the Orient station in Lisbon in Portugal and in the same style as that of the Wall Trade Center but much larger to see if you have the opportunity
Why do Americans have to always see things as a competition? This isn't a competition, otherwise your $4 billion stop is peanuts , as Paris is spending $42 Billion in doubling the size of its subway system in order to integrate the expanding suburbs with the core of the City and to accommodate the growing population. For Paris, it's a necessity, not a contest. I sure hope NYC didn't build their stop in order to win a contest! That would be a waste of money and quite shameful!
@@dominiqueroche4231 If you have any idea how bad New York's subway is, you would know how ludicrous the idea is of New York competing with any other international city. Of course Paris has a much better metro system and France has much better healthcare among many other things. For the time being most Americans are stuck in traffic jams and have been investing money in building democracy in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
Very "Pour le belle de jour" - I've heard of the "Paris end of Melbourne" - This must be in the equally famous "Melbourne end of Paris"
(Now let's see who gets more antsy - Parisians or Melburnians - Love from Sydney.
long live nice in France!!! in Nice we have the sea and the mountains!!! in Paris they have pollution
each are thing
eole works have durations of 8 years and not 10
Sorry. I was told by the people worked in the project who were present at the station that it took 10 years. Maybe they included the consultancy phase. Thanks for the correction !
Very beautiful and sublime, but also very French that it's not quite finished, lol, there will still be missing pieces in ten years guaranteed. Still an amazing project, keeping Paris in the game!
Lol you are jealous
actually the work is not finished the RER E line must go to Mante la Jolie in 2026 and the new RER trains have not all been delivered there is a delay
Rome was not built in a day and neither was Paris, the two most beautiful cities in the world. This is a $42 billion project that is expected to take another 6 years to complete. Patience please.
The interior design of the Terminal 1 of Paris CDG Airport is very elegent. I love it!
STATE OF THE ART PARIS 2024
Les couloirs, fait pas être obèses
All a bit over the top. Was this the best use of the money? Paris gets everything.
You need energy breakfast mate, you walk so slowly really 😂
In 10 years China made 20 of these with half the budget and theirs are done and running since a deade ago...

we don't have Uighur slaves
@@tomjugan7318 you have tons of Africans and still can't do shit
You start with La Defense. One of the ugliest inhuman spaces in Paris. There is even a great movie around this non-neighborhood
Not a big fan of towers and crowds uh?
The subject is about public transportation, not your architectural personal tastes.
As a young French, It's sooo frustrating to know that 5 BILLION euros of taxpayers money are now gone because of this simple extension. Why is the city of Paris so wasteful and inefficient?? Most likely lots of money got into the deep pockets of the politicians and no one is questioning anything and just accepting it, but in the near future we'll be one having to pay for it with our taxes! 😭😭
Ah, yes. Saint-Petersburg metro. Wait. Or is it Moscow?
Paris
