    I'd recommend a katana instead of a longsword to get much thinner and precise slices, that is why they took so much extra time. (seriously, maybe if they were thinner they would cook faster).

    • @theoriginaldylangreene
      @theoriginaldylangreene Před 10 lety +13

      Don't believe the hype. The vikings where making some of the finest blades in the world in the late 1st Century. The reason a katana is made from folded steel is because of the rarity of good steel in Japan. Once they found a design that kind of worked, they didn't change it. Where as the constant power struggles in Europe evolved both the Art of War and metalergy

      AgentTasmania
      I was replying to your comment about viking blades. Besides the fact that early Norse blades where based on the spatha, it's self a Roman longsword, and that as a general rule they got longer with time. But that's besides the point, you need to read more about Viking crucibled steel. It wasn't bettered until the industrial revolution. The Japanese didn't have this technology for another 800 years.

    That's a very nice microwave you have. Mine is an ancient, low-wattage relic that still uses knobs as opposed to buttons.

    • @PsylomeAlpha
      @PsylomeAlpha Před 8 lety

      I miss my old relic. Had it my entire life, it died two years ago and now we have one with a jet turbine for ventilation. It also sucks at cooking things properly.

    • @IVR02
      @IVR02 Před 8 lety

      PsylomeAlpha My relic takes forever to cook anything. For example, the other day, I put in a packet of popcorn. The packet said to microwave for 4 minutes. However, after 4 minutes, not a single kernel was popped, so I had to set it for another 4 minutes. In other words, it takes at least twice as long to cook as a normal microwave. But hey, it still works, and if it ain't broke, there's no need to replace it!

      mine only took about a minute longer than it used to. it also survived multiple explosions and kept ticking for nearly another decade.

    Wow, 2007? That's got to be one of the first food videos Ashens ever did. I didn't even remember him doing any of those until... 2012 or something like that?

      They'll still be slightly healthier even if you do use salt because at least you're not deep fat frying them, so less fat
