Do you hope for a return to Alara? What was your favorite shard? Which shard should I cover next? Most replies below wins!
Alara is one of my favorite planes. I hope we'll come back eventually.
Please do Grixis next!
Grixis!
Jund is cool
Grixis is the one I know least about!
I love Naya and Mayeal
And I still try to make her deck relevant but every it gets more difficult
Happy I could add something to this awesome video. Can't wait for the rest
It was great having you. Thanks for adding your insight!
My first set, and still one of my fav. How it never got a revisit is just mind blowing
IT REALLY NEEDS TO BE REVISITED!
Oh I am sure they will probably only way to get the friendly fetches back into standard.
Since Kamigawa is being revisited, I think it's only a matter of time before alara is too
Welcome to the "Why isnt this set revisited club". I will leave the club soon, since i was in the same place as you but with kamigawa. But i hope you dont get the gut punch feeling i got when i saw the set would have a neopunk asthetic instead of the medieval one. Still i want to see what they will do.
@@AzoiatheCobra I don't personally care anymore, until WotC gets their shit together and bans half the crazy crap they've unleashed upon us, I'm done with this game, outside of casual formats.
Oh yes my favorite Block in Magic history!
Bant was one of my favorite shards. Which was yours?
This was a good deep-dive into the history, culture, and colors of one of Magic's most interesting factions. Good job guys!
The art of Alara was so strong and Bant has such a distinct and recognisable style! I love it!
These in-depth videos are always so good. It's unfortunate that, these days, WOTC doesn't give you the same caliber of lore to work with. Great video, about halfway through now!
Omg this was so good. Bant is my favorite shard and place in the mtg universe. You did it justice sir, I tip my hat to you.
I appreciate the comment. Share it with someone else who may enjoy it :)
Thank you for these deep dives. Alara came out between rounds of playing Magic so it is a plane I am unfamiliar with. I always look forward to these videos.
Don’t let stupid internet stuff discourage you
Keep making content you’re passionate about, and nothing else
I love story telling. I just love being in front of an audience making content. But if the audience isn’t there, it’s like putting on a puppet show alone.
Never have I wanted a return to a plane as much as Alara. This is the set that I started Magic with, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I love the lore of Alara and how the shards warp in the absence of different colors of mana. It is one of the most compelling planes to me and I can't wait for the rest of the lore videos!
Thanks Seiben for being so consistently quality mate. 🤗 I'll make sure to share with my MTG friends, and sorry your videos aren't performing like you hoped. Fingers crossed the Kamigawa release hype will bolster your vids in the algorithms. 😰
Such an awesome place to start this series. Loving all the card pops.
Captured the Bant tone really well. My Alara knowledge is spotty so I'm looking forward to a lot of new stuff in the others.
This breakdown was amazing. I usually have a hard time choosing between Naya and Bant as my favorites, so seeing Naya next would be great! I really loved this video, keep up the great work Sieben!
Man these were my favorite planes as a kid, I remember forcing my parents to drop me off at my local game store to play. Wish they had lore books back then, the art was great 👍. Keep up the great work 😄
Awesome to see you and Dice Try working together more! Both of yall keep it up!!
I absolutely love this video and the attention to detail in the lore. Can’t wait for the others!
Thank you for doing Alara. Other than the Urza’s block Alara was my favorite in the history of Magic. I will be salivating for more until this cycle of videos concludes. As always, love the content and everything you do for the wider world of MTG.
Great work! You made my day with this video. Thanks!
Looking forward to this, love all the shards and your deep dives so much
your videos are always incredible and I wish more people would finally realize that. I keep linking to your channel in different discussions but I always see worse lore channels referenced. Great voice, I like that you show relevant pictures about what youre talking about, and aren't afraid to go for almost an hour on a topic.
Great video. I love your Complete History videos. I'm looking forward to the rest of the shards
Awesome job! Baby is definitely one of my favorite shards and I with this video it’s sparked my like for it even more. Thanks for making this and I look forward to the next one 🤘🏻
Please do the rest. This is my FAVORITE set. Thank you for it!
Great story-telling as always! More power and motivation to create great lore videos.
Hey, I just wanted to say I love your videos and really use them for my fanfiction and general story-building fun. This is a very informative and useful channel. I understand if burnout is getting to you but I just wanted to make sure you knew how important your work is. I can't always watch them all the way through in one go because of life. But I do return to them the next day and finish. I will be a successful author one day and you're a part of that (among other people), so thank you. And stay tough, man. You're awesome.
Awesome video; love deep-dives into magic lore.
I was completely out of the game during this time, so I really appreciate this form of catching up, and look forward to learning more about the rest of the shards.
You’re very welcome ☺️
amazing storytelling mister, i love it, thank you for all you do!
Even though Bant was my least favorite shard in Alara, this in depth review of the story was amazing!. Alara is my favorite set, and even to this day, the set I have the most cards of, due to the amount of draft I went to. Thanks for bringing up those memories again.
The Aven were the first thing introduced to me about MTG. Glad finally got lore on them.
Great video dude! I love your content. Thanks for making these amazing videos for us!!
i didn't know much about alara so it is really nice to learn about it you are doing good work
I would really like to see more of this kind of deep dive, Alara has always been incredibly mystified in my Magic journey and I’d love to know this much about all the shards. Personally I’d like to hear about Esper next or Grixis please!
This history is far richer than I ever knew, thank you for sharing!
Amazing stuff! Looking forward to more.
I love this series. I can't wait to hear about the other shards and maybe eventually the wedges too.
As someone who started playing MtG only in recent years, these videos are top notch. Thank you!
I love these videos! Keep it up please
Damn I missed this set when it was new I hope we return here thank you for covering this!
Just now got your notification from yesterday for this... CZcams is lacking on getting my content to me
Favourite upload Thursday!
Hope you enjoy ;)
This was awesome! I wasn't playing mtg at the time, but I love everything about Alara. And of all the shards, Bant is 100% my favorite.
Thank you for the video essay. A great video
My shard! I'm stoked to watch this
I started at the end of Alara mainly shards; very interesting and a great story.
The best explanation, presentation, everything oh my god don't stop!!!
do we have esper? id love an esper!
love that its all packed in one video, very organized!!!!!
Thank you for teaching me about my favourite shard ❤️
You are the Best Seiben...Thank you for the Always perfect content...
This is such a cool series, I hope it can continue
I absolutely love this block. I remember being super excited for it's release. Bant was the Shard I wanted to build a deck around before the first set even released. I still have that deck. It's based around the Exalted mechanic, of course. Speaking of Malfegor, I have two copies of the pre-release foil version. They are in excellent condition with a little wear, but considering how old they are, that's not terrible. They sit in my rare/mythic rare binder. Hellkite Overlord is another card I've had since release. All of my cards from that block are from the first printing. ❤❤❤
Keep doing great videos!
Comment for the algorithm! I love your videos and this topic!
Its so good to see Alara. It holds a special place in my heart. I started playing MTG in middle school and my first set was Shards. Im still a hardcore Jund player to this day
Been looking forward to some alara lore
I LOVE Alara. Thanks for this history!
This was a good reminder why I play Bant frequently. Rafiq may be one of my favorite MTG heroes.
Woo-hoo first one to listen to the lore!!
Congrats, hope you and many more enjoy the video!
Maybe we'll see a revisit before long. With the current theme of progress and planar development in the new phytexia plot, Alara would fit in well. We've never left a plane in such flux before or since, and it could be neat to see how it's changed in our time away. How the shards influence and change eachother with the merging
This was a very interesting video. I never really thought much about Bant before now, Esper and Grixis being more my taste, but their dedication to honour, nobility, and the good of the many over the few is admirable, if a touch short-sighted and naïve. Typical Black mage perspective, I know.
Really looking forward to the next video in this series, whichever Shard you choose next.
I love the shards. Can’t wait to see if the mobster set will be shards or clans
I really love those badass knights bant has and angels. I love Jund too because of dragons. We really need to revisit it one day :).
Cool new intro!
Watched this twice can't wait for next installment
Oh great. Another hour video I will rewatch 3 times in a week lol.
love these deep dives
Very cool!!
Oh wow I just commented about wanting more lore on this recently.
Love bant, is my favorite shard, and favorite colors are in it, blue, white, green, keep up the good work, I will share this with my friends because I'm bant, my ex is grixis, one of my best friends are jund and esper, there's a lot of alara in Us.
Good job 👍
THANKS!!! BANT IS MY FAVORITE
aaah yes Alara, the first series to come out after i joined the hobby, and so the plane of Alara holds a special place in my heart... but wait, it was my understanding that Bolas was the one who sundered it in ancient times? 🤔 and he only reforged it when it suited his plans
Bant, alongside Naya and Esper were always my favorite shards, especially lore wise Bant was 2nd only to Esper
Oh my vote is Esper! It has such a distinct personality in MTG lore!
Great story.
Love this! Just in time cuz I built a storvald deck lol
I'm an esper and grixis Stan but bant was my 3rd favorite and introduced a really fun key word
Oh my man. Thank you.
Hi there Great Video
Sorry I was late to getting to watch this. Got a lot of stuff in my queue. Great video, though.
I love the world of Warcraft music in the background
The part about color identity, and how its really the colors the shards are LACKING that really shape how the shard works, both in lore and in gameplay. I think MaRo said something like that talking about Tarkir, but imo its even more appearant with Alara. But I guess it's easier when the shards dont even really know about other colors existing!
I didn't know jack about Bant or Alara, but know my brain big I thank ye you are truly Bant
Here’s to helping you with the algorithm!
Will this series continue? Is it still in the works I feel going wubrg works so esper should be next😊
So, can we see a Ravnica plane lore video next?
Hey!!!! We want this for all wedges and shards!!!!
good one
36:25 Cue Bolas
Now that phyrexians can planes walk we could be on our way back. Alara and zendikar are my favorites.
Wizards seriously needs to revisit alara. Interesting denizens and locations without the focus on the damned gatewatch
I saw the community post first then with the recommended. If that is how the algorithm works, then for the next shard have trivia questions to ask on the posts. Each one an hour apart or however. Trivia questions such as: What is this? A) Leotau B)cat-horse C) hee-haw-meow-meow and so forth.
Next shard: Esper!
I didn't know a lot of this history so I really am enjoying this. I did cringe when you mentioned something incorrectly that I did know about. Elspeth actually first planeswalked to Theros where she first obtains the Godsend as a sword. Then she planeswalks to Bant.
I would love a deep dive into esper
The two colour philosophy guys in one place?! Great!
I love Rafiq and I love the Oblivion soundtrack:)
My boy making good lore videos again god yes, not the videos being bad that is, the lore lmao
When r we getting one of these for esper?
oh cool a new Trick Room video 😂😂
