Planespotting at Phuket Airport (HKT/VTSP)

Quick video to show how to get to the Phuket Airport Beach, and how fantastic spotting is at this paradise-like location.

Cool video! I'm actually staying at Dewa resort mid next year, I knew the airport was close to the beach but after seeing this I'm super excited to go plane spotting!! Thanks

Nice!! I went past the airport by boat, it was amazing to see the airplanes fly over the mast and land, unfortunately I didn't have time to do some plane spotting on the beach... Very nice airport, kind of like Princess juliana!

Wow, I was there 14 days ago, it was really great day, but in the sea was a lot of jellyfish ... I remember it very well, when started Thai 747-400, and the whirlwind of sand I was "thrown" into the sea, and jellyfish already there waiting :)

Yes, it is walking distance! Google Earth says it 2.5 kilometers. You have to go around the perimeter of the airport to get to Mai Kaoh Beach. Just walk outside the terminal, walk the big road to the right, to the second intersection, then walk right til' you hit the beach. Walk the beach up to the runway. Or you can walk to left outside the terminal and after 6-700 meters you'll be next to the runway. Enjoy!

@dodogolf1993 Hey, haha, that's very well possible. That must have been me! Was there Feb 8-20. By the way, the Gorillapod thing didn't work - was too shaky and the camera kept shutting down, so I had to hold it in one hand :)
