i really wanna play 3, i played it emulated, but it ran poorly, and looked poorly
MGS 1 integral for sure i just hope the trophies count on both solid and integral
@@abadyasfour291they do
I just beat mgs1 intergal and it didn't show end stats or let me save my completed game help
I think this game is worth 70 bucks.
Kinda wish they had the twin snakes in there also. I know its not the OG but i never got to experience twin snakes and would like to
Same but Nintendo owns that version 😢
I even bought the GameCube or whatever console it was on, but never got a chance to buy the gsne
@@Muthalickaa thought about doing that too
The Twin Snakes is like.. What if Metal Gear Solid would be made into a movie in the Metal Gear universe, ten you get Twin Snakes. Over the top action sequences that would make the Matrix go “Wow…” :P It was ridiculous and fun and a nice addition to the Metal Gear franchise, as long as you don’t view it as a remake. The original is still much better.
@GFX667 great synopsis! Thank you friend
Having played the integral version for the first time in the Master Collection; The ability to play the whole game in First Person Verson and the alternative (harder) guard patrol routes easily makes integral the definitive version IMO.
Can you confirm if the ability to change the text to English exists?
Yes. On the title screen go the "options" menu and you can change the text from Japanese to English.
@@retromaster6163The item descriptions seems to still be in Japanese though.
Funny how this has fps walking mode and Twin Snakes doesnt. Weird it took until mgs4 to have another mgs where you can walk in fps
@@JStarke2490MGS2 Substance much?
Man I still remember the first time we got to play as ninja after getting 100% on the VR missions disc, that was probably one of the top 5 times Iv been that hyped from a game!
So excited for newcomers to experience the MGS series for the first time 🔥
I’m now 34 and will 100% be grabbing this
Dog real shit, im 32 i still remeber being so hype for 100 vr
Been loving the mgs content man. Ty for your videos
Thank you for watching!
I think its awesome that Integral is included in the collection. I figured (if Integral was to be included at all) that it would be modified to be like Vanilla MGS1 but with all the Integral bonuses added in; much like when Mario 64 in 3D All Stars was based on the 1997 Shindou Edition.
perfect video!! explains the differences well, thank you
Yrs ago on PC by accident when i found out snake had a Silenced MP5 in his inventory.. it blew my mind.. im happy to say i own a Japanese MGS 1 Integral port with a Imported PS1
Dope video man learned a lot can’t wait!
Thanks for watching!
Greatness Awaits 🔥
Appreciate the videos and can't wait to revisit my childhood memories in this amazing collection!
Not too long of a wait now!
Honestly, since they updated text to match individual consoles (like when Colonel says "press the select button", on the Switch version it says "press the - button") I wonder if they updated Integral to have different language support when it comes to text.
It also would have been nice if they could have somehow took some things from the PC version like cleaner text, no texture wobble and better graphics and applied it to the Master Collection but with PS1 quality music and sound effects.
@@afevisnot really. perspective correction is the harder/heavier option (PXGP)
Pardon me, but that's bullshit. Anyone who actually buys that PR rhetoric to gloss over the fact that they did a lazy port deserves the garbage they get. I'm old as dirt. I was a young and avid player when the PSX was contemporary. I had both the PSX & PC versions of MGS in the day, and I was _never_ a fan of the PSX's trademark texture wobbling and texture clipping, and there was genuinely no good reason -- or excuse -- to "preserve" that crap. It was never even _intended_ to look that way, it was simply a biproduct of the quirks of PSX hardware that we all had to deal with at the time. Even then, in the late 90's when that stuff was acceptable, _graphically,_ I would have taken the PC version any day of the frikkin' week, as pretty much anyone else would. Nor was there any reason for them to "preserve" the resolution, and how muddy and terrible it looks on modern displays. If this was really about "preserving" its original presentation, then they should have sent me a damn SD tube television from the 90's to go with it. Apply their dumb logic to the two other sequels in the package, and it doesn't hold water.
The lack of display options here -- or pretty much any effort whatsoever -- is inexcusable.
@@AgentMorgan2010i grew up with a dreamcast and i think i agree. i still play games on my old HDCRT because it's all i have, but PSX texture wobbling is absolutely not intentional. there's a reason the PS2 doesn't have it.
@@DonnyKirkMusic Erm. OK, zoomer. The wobble was perfectly visible on CRT televisions. Moving mouths are also perfectly visible on CRTs. There are PS1 games that had moving mouths, as well as plenty of Dreamcast, PS2, and GameCube games. So, dunno what you're talkin' about there. As far slime monsters in King's Field, that would probably the _only_ instance imaginable where the wobble makes sense, and the devs actually applied and used the quirk in an intentional way. Walls, however, are not _supposed_ to wobble, and that was never an intentional effect on the part of the developers.
"looks anything but muddy". Well, that's probably because you played it post-patch, where they actually bothered to upscale and clean-up the image in their "Remastered" port months after the fact. The PC version released in the late 90s and didn't have any of that stuff, so riddle me that, if all this was "intentional".
Thanks for this, I was oblivious.
just the video i was looking for, thanks
Nice vid man, what i really liked is that you don't talk too much like you are directly to the point, really nice vid
Thanks for watching!
Seriously the video I’ve been looking for for a long time. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I bought the pc version of MGS back when it first came out so this is how i've always enjoyed the game except for the very first time I ever played MGS which was on my ps1. I loved the first person mode where I could actually walk and shoot in first person.
Hey great video, so it looks like we are getting 3 versions of the VR missions in this master collection? Special missions, VR Missions and the missions contained in integral? Are there any differences across the 3? Would be good to see you do a video on this :)
Thank you for watching! As far as VR Missions go - every version of them is practically identical. The difference between VR Missions (NTSC U/C) and Special Missions (PAL) is the fact that in order to play Special Missions, you needed a save file for METAL GEAR SOLID on your memory card. This was a requirement. Due to the various languages spoken in Europe, the special missions disc would actually require a MGS save file so it could then load up Special Missions in that same language. That’s not the case for VR Missions as it’s always in English. Other than that they are pretty much the same in every way.
Special missions required you to insert an mgs1 disc before you could play as well.
I didn’t even know about Integral… Guess I’m not as big a fan of the series as I thought 😅
Thanks for covering this!
Not knowing about Integral doesn't make you any less of a fan!
@@PerfectStealth thanks for your wird's. I thought exact the Same. In the end only one Thing Matters: you ARE a MGS Fan
Its ok man. I didn't know about all that stuff either.
@@PerfectStealth Yep, if you're a Western fan that's pretty understandable. Its especially niche for the bits you did get for playing that version in the West (often untranslated in Japanese).
Not knowing everything doesn’t mean you’re not a big fan
I’m pumped to try integral for the first time, only 2 days till we are all wearing are bandanas and hanging out inside cardboard boxes
The unlimited silence mp5 is a must.
Kind of a bummer it never returned in MGS2, or 4 (but I can kinda understand that from a canon standpoint in 4)
I’m a huge fan of this game for many years and had no idea the MP5 was even a thing in MGS1 but I only ever had the US version😂😂😂
@@Pericles777 we only were able to get it on PC to enjoy that. I always knew the MP5 replaced the FAMAS, but I didn't know why until today
I had no idea it even existed, thank you so much, that makes the collection much more enticing than just sticking with my ps3 version 😊
@@danbigboss6484Most don't even know the difference between Sons of Liberty/Snake Eater and Substance/Subsistance and how this is the first time the originals are rereleased.

Wow I never knew intergral existed, I have mgs3 subsistence on PS2 but never heard of this. I wish they released twin snakes on this collection
Man earning trophies on the OG Metal Gear Solid is a dream come true. But then I remember the last time such a dream came true and I suddenly had to earn the Big Boss Emblem in Metal Gear Solid 4. Still, I'll gladly go for it.

why do you care about trophies? @@Ivotas
@@johnsotherside It just so happened that I developed a liking to unlocking them. Don't get the same feeling for completing challenges. There's really no deeper meaning behind it ^^
@@Ivotas So if all the trophies were just automatic from completing the game on easy you'd still prefer that than the feeling you get when you ACTUALLY accomplish something or challenge yourself?
@@johnsotherside Why do you care so much how a random bloke on the internet like me enjoys his games? I like earing trophies, you like clearing tough challenges. To each their own. Why would stop doing something I enjoy doing in exchange for something I don't? Video games are my hobby, not my work.
Iam one of the few people (like it seems) who thinks, we are getting a lot of content for the 60 bucks in this collection.
It’s only pc players with emulators who even care tbh the games work totally fine and are perfect for newcomers who want to experience it for the time
@@harambeepstein800960 dollars for an incomplete, flawed collection. If you people are ok with that, then you deserve to get shafted by this greedy industry.
You had me at playing in first person.
Anyone know if trophies unlock in Integral? It would make the initial set of trophies easier to get them on "very easy"
Is it confirmed there will be no translations on integral?
Wait…. MGS1 with the original Japanese audio! I’m in. Always wanted to hear the Japanese version. But, able to change to English text, and subtitles?
Mgs1 has the original audio track on an English language release, finally, and that's going to be the bomb
Will integral be fully translated in the new collection? Like the commentary, etc?
Unsure on that for now. Won’t know until we have the game in front of us unfortunately.
@@PerfectStealth really hope it will! Keep us updated on this bro!
i wish i had seen your videos before doing my play through on the "classical" version, well I'll do my big boss rank on the integral one, after a quick test it seems a bit more responsive too (not really sure tho).
Looks like I'll be doing Big Boss runs on Integral
So does Very Easy mode in Integral only add the silenced weapon? Does it make the torture sequence easier and give the bosses less health than on Easy?
It's identical to Easy as far as I know outside of the MP5. The torture sequence is always three rounds on Integral even on higher difficulties.
Do you think the next one will have peace Walker I fancy playing that and people say good things about it.
I think it’s definitely safe to say it’ll be included in one of the volumes and it probably will be Vol. 2, yes.
Oh. I didn't know Integral was included! Definitely the first one I'll play. I'll beat regular old MGS hundreds of times.
I’m getting this collection for the PS five and the switch I’m happy with it what I’m seeing?
3:33 cool behind the scenes codec
Part 2 is my all time favorite mgs. It I will be playing the original first and probably not at all snake eater. Be sure to get a physical copy people!!!!
I have the essential collection for my ps2 lmao but im happy to get this collection for my ps5 when it comes out
Minor mistake in this video, the language option is for codecs captions only not VO
Wrong. Voices are in English as well as English codec text, but item/weapon descriptions remain in Japanese text.
The European box art is so much better than the other ones. White background with a black text? We got Snake!
For some reason mgs integral didnt let me save game after completing the game did it twice but didn't bring up the save menu or the codename completion stats
I remember there was no Ninja missions on the Integral VR game despite I completed them all.
to be fair integral on PC allowed for FPV mode by double tapping the first person view button, all VR missions are unlocked when launching the VRexe, and the PC allows for hot swapping of weapons using 0-9 on the keyboard, this of course can lead to some game breaking glitches such as a much easier weapon swap glitch that doubles as a god mode in most cases. Honestly the GOG version is probably the most definitive version despite it being an older release.
I wanna do it for the first person mode now. It's clunky in the sequel's VR missions, sure, but it seems like a true test of skill. Though the bosses are way harder than I imagined them to be
Hey man!
Do you think i can play the collection on a 1060 Gpu + i7 8750h Cpu?
Should be plenty imo. They haven’t released any info on requirements for PC but I’ll keep an eye out.
5:40 Fans have beaten Konami to that punch years ago, look up RetroAchievements , Achievements created by fans that you can earn in both MGS and MGS Integral.

Cyborg ninja in VR missions runs like Steven seagal
From what i seen the master collection is the HD version of the games if you want all the extras got to find the ps1 and ps2 versions.

Thanks!
My English is not so good
Is the intregal better or not??
I have the intregal version sealed
It's better in some ways, yes. It includes bonus content not in the original game.
So We also going to get the integral edition in the master collection?
Yes
Is Integral only available on the Switch version or will the PS4, PS5, and Xbox versions have it too?
All the versions of the Master Collection will include MGS as well as MGS: Integral.
@@PerfectStealth Thanks.
So does the Master Collection version of Integral have English text?
*Releases Metal Gear in Japan*
Very Easy difficulty added
*Releases Metal Gear in Europe*
European Extreme difficulty added
I think they had it out for us
I played nearly every metal gear solid game execpt for 1 & 4, So which one would you recommend for someone who's never played MGS1 before?
Depends really. Since you’re familiar with other METAL GEAR games you’re probably be fine playing Integral even if the item/weapon descriptions are in Japanese. Integral is worth playing to see all the bonus content if you’re into that sort of thing.
If you’re just planning on playing through MGS once and not really seeing/unlocking anything else, the original MGS is fine.
@@PerfectStealth So they aren't planning on making the item/weapon descriptions be in English for Integral in the Master Collection even if you have everything set to English in the options?
@@PerfectStealth Thanks for the response. I appreciate it.
Do you know if there is an overlay or filter to have that old tv screen look like most emulators?
Will help for jaggies
Like dithering? I don’t think so unfortunately. I think the only thing they’ve added is a bit of smoothing judging off some of the footage out there.
On emulators you can use overlays to get those scan lines from old crt tvs, makes it look better
I think it was a fail to not try to drop twin snakes
Hopefully we see it in a future volume.
@@danbigboss6484 yeah, there is, I rarely see anyone who genuinely wants it.
They'd have to remove the Nintendo Easter eggs
How do you choose integral, is it a seperate download?
It should be selectable in the main menu when you boot the game.
@@PP7Silenced oh ok, thanks
if i ever play MGS 1 again i wanna do it for the story.. so the difficulty settings are a nice edition to me.
if you want me to play these games for a challenge bring me modern graphics so i can stand it better these day.
Only video that explains integral !
I know about the new features in Metal Gear Solid Integral.
As for another Character getting a new outfit, it's Meryl. Not only she has a Sneaking Suit similar to Snake's, but it's complete with a Bandana. Because I guess her Policenauts counterpart also wore a Bandana.
Same with the Twin Snakes Version, she's wearing the MGS1 Sneaking Suit, but doesn't have her Bandana for some reason.
Unfortunately there's no Japanese voices in Integral for those who are into the Japanese language and purest. I tried it.
Apparently Kojima wanted to include the English voice overs in Integral, but when he found out that Jeremy Blaustein the localizer of the game changed his work including Psycho Mantis's last words, he didn't like it that he decided to let go of Jeremy because he wanted a literary translation of his work.
He intended Mantis's last words to be "This is the first time I've ever used my power to help someone... It's strange... 'Such a nostalgic feeling...'" or "I've missed this feeling..." Because of the nostalgia Mantis's mother gave birth to him. You can check out Censored Gaming's "Why Kojima hated MGS1's translation". : czcams.com/video/m1zXGMVZJbQ/video.htmlsi=UKGnQ4Vny0qvXl-F
I hope this new version of Integral re-adds the Japanese voices cause it's the definitive version of MGS1
@@DaHeis Maybe. Unfortunately Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes doesn't have Japanese voices even in the Japanese Version. Just like MGS Integral and PS2 MGS2 Substance.
Sneaking suit Meryl is a reference to the MGS Radio Drama, character art shows her wearing a sneaking suit.
"Use the MP5 to mow everything down stealthily" not a phrase I ever expected to hear 🤣
I played Integral in the Master Collection since I've played the original US version multiple times and the original Japanese version already. I beat it once and already have new ways to experience the next playthru.
Cool video, but you forgot to mention PocketStation support.
I have integral in my collection. I forgot that it was a Japan exclusive.
Whats the difference between VR Missions and Special Missions?
Pretty much identical when it comes to content. Special Missions is the PAL version of VR Missions. Special Missions actually forced players to have MGS1 disc/save files in order to play it as it would use the language you played MGS1 as the language displayed in Special Missions.
So wait…. Are we getting the VR missions in the MGS1 that comes with the master collection?!
Yup.
So, which version is better now that the game is out?
Also, what's the difference between MGS3 North American Version and the European Version. And I mean the ones on MGS Master Collection.
i think you should just play the original games through emulation, you get the same full experience, and higher resolution
Awesome, I guess I can sell my Metal Gear collection then. No need for it sitting on a shelf.
I remember being a kid when the internet was basically non existent and we just had to be confused about japanese game versions. Thanks for letting us know
I still have the PC integral port (And Substance!), was dissapointed to hear Subsistence wasn't for PC, though... Regardless, wish I could experience JP Integral myself, a shame I am too broke to do so lol
i just want to play in first person
I did not know about extra unlockable characters
On integral can you get the stealth camo
Yes
Gog verison of integral version made me hate mgs 1 at first. But I really enjoy it now.
Yeah it's not the first version I would recommend to new fans to be honest with you. It works for the most part but it's nowhere near as good as the actual version of Integral or the original PSX version of the game to be honest.
@@PerfectStealth I decided to play mgs in october of 2023. I had pc and xbox so I could play Peace Walker, phantom pain and mgs 1. I didn't have much of a choice.
@@PerfectStealth there's a community patch that restores all the missing music, fixes the controls, and corrects most of the missing graphics. It also adds 4k widescreen support. Pretty much makes it the same as the psx version nowadays. It's on the pcgamingwiki under essential improvements, if I link it directly the post gets auto-removed.
Almost all of the issues can be fixed with the GOG version w/ a community patch. It's under essential improvements on the pcgamingwiki. Fixes missing music, the controls not being emulated correctly (only 8 directions work for analog sticks which is why sniper wolf is so hard, its correct to all 2000 degrees), fixed graphics, ECT. Makes it equivalent to the psx version except it also adds 4k widescreen support
Wait. So MGS Integral in Japan really has an option for English voices and texts? Even from the ps1 disc?
Integral has ONLY English voices with an option for English texts.
In the Integral version Johnny wears shorts instead of having his beautiful ass pixelated - play the original.
🤣
So on the original they've censored his pixelated ass...by adding more pixels.
Also I really hope each separate version of MGS1 has trophies, I would totally try to get them all on every version of the game
You didn’t tell us what’s missing from the pc port
"I'll let you unlock those and see them for yourself" Why bro just show them this game is 30 years old. They arent even that like crazy
i mean this video is directed to people who likely dont know anything about metal gear so why spoil
Have you ever thought of covering other games like Tenchu or Splinter Cell?
One problem tho. PS5 doesn’t have two controller ports. How will we beat Psycho Mantis?
Different guard routes.. interesting
Feels so weird hearing mei ling without an accent. Glad I played integral instead of the twin snakes
The unlimited MP5 is for DSP
Bahn bahn bahn bahn bahn
Honestly not sure whether I prefer Japanese dub or English. The latter is my childhood, the former would probably add a whole new layer of madness into this game that I haven't experienced before.
Good thing you can easily switch between the two thanks to the Master Collection. :) You could do a Japanese playthrough on the original version of MGS1 and then an English run on Integral.
Yeah the english dub is really it's own separate thing from the original release. The Japanese is INTEGRAL (no pun intended!) to the directi9n of MGS, and the English dub really doesn't follow it unlike many other aaa dubs (final fantasy dub for example). The voices are very different
Most certainly will be playing integral with Japanese voice acting just for the fresh take. These cutscenes are ingrained in my core memories lol
unless they're modifying the Master Collection version Integral doesn't have option for changing voices, you only have English voices w/ Japanese or English subtitles. You'll have to play the original Japanese release for the Japanese voices (apparently regional variants are Downloadable)
as always everyone, like the greek proverb says: _hold a small basket._ don't expect too much. hopefully konami did not mess up this time around with their new releases. hopefully.
Playing MGS1 with MP5 with silencer I would call blasphemy :)
Nope. They’re all going down. it’s personal after they took Meryl.
The cigarette shouldn't be missing, that's my opinion. I celebrate you boy
Play both at the same time, ready? Go.
SOLID breakdown on the differences mate. After 25 years this is still a top 10 game for me.
Agreed!
this year konami will release the master collection vol 2 , it will include the pc verison of metal gear 4 :D
Wasn’t first person mode in the GameCube version?
You could fire weapons in first person but the FPV in Integral is entirely first person practically the entire time.
@@PerfectStealth oh wow. Thanks for clarifying
