  • Went to Minerva Mine hunting for fluorite again, this time armed with a black light. It was hot, and loud. Sure wish I knew where people are finding the fist and head sized pieces of fluorite. I'm still just hunting the small stuff all by myself.

4:46 That's the part of rock counting that I love the most. When you see that little sparkle in the dirt and you're like, I found a piece of crystals.

...and now Otis is looking for another banana!! LOL Well, at least you get to eat it all in peace!! LOL I was just about to remark if there is ever anyone else out there digging...yes there is! That really is amazing how those rocks are glowing in the black light!! Wow!! Now that would be very special and would be amazing for kids to see...kids of all ages!! Awesome times!!

Fluorite is the state mineral here in Illinois, so often times at rock & gem shows here, they have black lights for kids to see fluorite specimens glow.

Can you recommend a good brand of UV flash light

That UVBeast works well for me, and it doesn't break the bank. If you've got money to blow, Yooperlights are the best out there. store.yooperlites.com/collections/flashlights
