Sorry for the wait in between episodes, I was gone all week up at my friends cottage and then playing in a volleyball tournament! I'm going to make it up by having a bunch of episodes this week :) possibly some live streams too during the week!

Svenalf needs just an absolute unit of a greatsword that's like 7ft handcrafted for his final weapon and if you have the mod that allows you to cleave through multiple enemies at a time, the fear this man will cause on the battlefield will be magnificent👌
The nice part about getting him some armor is we can start using a massive 2 handed handed and not fear getting shot or clipped by little hits
Just imagine the faces of all in the tournament! Vlandia just a few days(?) ago pretty much ass-whooped the Sturgians, imprison their nobles including their Prince and forced to sign very humiliating peace treaty. Then to add just fresh grind salt to the injuries Vlandians decided to uphold probably the most expensive and biggest tournaments in the keep they had just conquered, and the winner gets what must be the pride and jewel of Vlandian craftsmanship.
All the nobles and strongest warriors and nobles of their realm come to celebrate and win this magnificent prize...
Only to be absolutely embarrassed and annihilated by a naked and extremely hairy 7ft tall mountain of a man who just about has basic grasp of common sense.

I think with your rp for Svenalf you could rp that his entire family were all taken in that same storm that froze him but he didn't realise. They thawed out first and that was when his parents were killed and his siblings taken while he was still frozen, with both believing the other was dead. It was only when they heard stories of a big naked warrior that they knew it had to be Svenalf and that's how they knew he was alive.
My headcanon is that Svenalf found the family enslaved by raganos and when he saved them he pretty much said fuck it and just adopted them as his own family 🤷♂️

Started with this series. Glad I saw it in my recommended! Subbed and now binge watching your older videos. This game really looks like a lot of fun, and exactly to my genre style. Seems a lot like Lord of Magic, old 90s game that I still love to play. Watching you play Bannerlord really make me want to play it. I added it to my wishlist and hopefully it goes on sale soon. Are there any cool mods to the game? I like games with a good mod community to help keep the game fresh, devs don't seem to add much variety.
The modding community is pretty big, its predecessor Warband had dozens of total conversion mods where you could play in GoT, Warhammer, Medieval or Roman Europe, etc.
Those mods are still in the process of being worked on for Bannerlord, but the first few are starting to come out!
11:53 "Can I speed this up?" Grab the RTS Camera mod, not only lets you speed things up, but gives better control over your troops formations and directions. You can also continue playing out the battle as a companion or soldier if you go down.
hmmm I'm very nervous getting mods right now that could get outdated and corrupt the save like what happened with Ron Bearingsworth's series. But that one sounds like it shouldn't cause anything like that

God this series is so gooooood, so happy to have you back VMP. How was your trip? I was in Michigan this weekend actually. Just got back to my city today. Was the tournament a town-hosted thing or are you in a leauge? I know you used to play club/intramural in your undergrad right?
Here’s a tip for ya (just the tip) but once you get Druzhinnik Cav, dismount them in battle, I’ve found them to be far more useful as infantry then to have them run at the enemy get caught on a shield wall and die
Oh damn, yeah that would make a lot of sense...their stats/armor just make them beefy infantry
Just a tip, when you are fighting against a guy with a shield, use E at the moment when you block. then you will smash him so he cant block your next attack. Much easier to kill guys with a shield.

btw idk if you have checked out the modding for this game but its insane you can find a mod for pretty much of anything, there are mods that add nation like Roman empire and carthige or Gaul or something like that there is a mod that lets you play as a solider in a lords army and you can progress through his ranks eventually being a bodyguard and you are literally just a solider you don't command men you don't tell him where to go anything like that but with enough service he could offer you to become a lord in his clan so lets say there is a lord of sturgia from the clan varyag(made up i cant remember a name) if he promotes you enough you literally get invited as a lord under him you get his banner and everything, there is even a game of thrones mod that's really good with the GOT map and armor and races and everything, there is battle mod that adds the thing at the start that you get but you can access that in the middle of a battle, there is even a lord of the ring mod with ogres and other mythical creatures, i recommend watching jackie fish he spotlights a lot of these mods and has playthroughs on them.

that helmet value wise was probably the best I've ever seen from a tournament item.... that was insane i'm playing on 1.9.0 currently and haven't gotten anything close to that value only reason my weapons are even high tier is due to I think the earliest smith companion i've ever found and he's made some slightly broken weapons for me :D still wish there was a separate skill tree for woodworking/bowmaking and a workshop(ability to craft bows at a workshop) I've always been partial to bows in M&B but always felt they were heavily under used(except for pendor that was HEAVEN)
P.S. I'm both a higher level and have a companion with amazing trade skill and the best I've gotten value wise from a tournament win was a 5k item :( and I've wont 15 of them so far :(
It really is all about how many lords are taking part in the tournament. Later on in the series we summon an army and bring like 10 lords with us to a bunch of tournaments. It guarantees good drops each time 😄

After svenalf got out of the iceberg he was taken in by a small family (Nord family) and adopted as their son, but when their village was attacked, svenalf went on a rampage and fought the raiders instead of protecting his family, svenalf had Ben starved for combat and had lost himself.
Svenalf was devastated when he saw the home of his adoptive parents destroyed, he thought he lost everything again, but his father was still drawing breath, his father entrusted him with finding his brothers who turned out to have been kidnapped.
Svenalf full of regret, embarks on a journey to find his siblings and become a true NORD!

Next time you get a raid quest make sure your men are ready to go at the beginning so you can finish before they make peace. And the quest timeframe isn’t set in stone so taking too long cause you think you have time will almost always end in an unfinished quest, no payout, and lost relations.

Incase you didn't know when you are in a tournament the arrow on the skip round button lets you skip straight to your round

I think if you wanted to include your family in the lore of the run maybe it could be like this: You are your dad’s biological son. Both of you were frozen but his ice melted 20 years sooner. He built a life in this time and you now have half siblings and a step-mother (hence why they’d have a different appearance than you).

Old news now probably, but medicine and tactics are busted skill trees. You lose like no troops because of medical and tactics lets your troops get enormous amounts of damage in battles. No brainer every time for when you know you are going to rely on your army. Also, don't snort at archery, for players it's a bit lackluster at times, but archery units are very good!
I know it’s really early in this series but do you have any plans for future series?
I want to do a series on Prophecy of Pendor as Ron Bearingsworth. That's definitely up next, probably start that in the next couple weeks. Besides that I want to check out some of the new Bannerlord mods, especially the total conversion ones like Land of Sika, The Old Realms, and whatever game of thrones mods are out there.

I dont know what you intend, but make sure you don't jump straight to full plate mail. Someone in his shoes would not be comfortable wearing all of that immediately. Start with some cloth shirts if you can. Maybe some light leather. Someone like Svenalf would not like his vision being obstructed so a big heavy helmet is an issue.
VMP have you considered a Crusader Kings 3 series or livestream?
Definitely want to try it out at some point! Paradox games just take a time investment to learn how to play lol
