    Another great job you done and what is the leather called that allows you to use rub off called.And also what thickness foams are used ,is there a thick foam then a thin foam.When making a diamond shape how do you know its not to close is there a certain gap for each thickness foam used many thanks chris
    i

    • @Johnhuntuph
      @Johnhuntuph  Před 3 lety

      Hi the leather is Rub off hide it’s comes in various colours.
      The thickness of foam is all up to the look you’re after the thicker the foam the deeper the buttons.
      Diamond shapes as a good rule are 2” difference as in 2” wide 4” up and down or 6 “ wide 8” up and down. It’s a case of measure and see which fits the best. Hope this helps thanks for watching John.

    I thought there would be padding under the seat, any advice to ‘stiffen’ the seating area?

    • @Johnhuntuph
      @Johnhuntuph  Před rokem

      Not without re-upholstery, you may be able to undo it all then replace the foam or add padding, but it is a risk ! You may damage leather trying to do so.John

    Don’t think it needed a re upholster with new leather a good clean sand smooth fine filler and repaint and condition would have got identical finish and the old leather would have been retained. Only my view but your skills are impeccable
