- Ira - Many kayaker’s first time in a whitewater boat is on the Lower Green River, a mostly class I-II run. With a few exceptions due to private property, it is all roadside & accessible from multiple put-ins & take-outs. The typical 6 mile run is from Fishtop Access to Big Rock Access Area. The river is popular with fisherman & tubers in the summer months & can be crowded at times. But it is a forgiving river that is great for those looking to dip their toes into whitewater Kayaking.
While we typical reference American Whitewater when making our river guides, AW does not have any rapid names or classifications for this river. The rapid names & classes were taken from the Pisgah Map Company Green River Game Land map for reference.

The Lower Green is where I got my start. It is a great intro to whitewater.
Love the sounds of the water, beautiful place, great job, ❤
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching! :)
Class II perfection
This was my first year kayaking and I spent most of the summer 23’ on that river. It’s only 45 minutes from my house.
It's a great spot to start out for sure! Thanks for watching! :)
