Orton Effect: How to add a dreamy glow to your photos (Photoshop tutorial)

Thanks Andrew, another really informative video! Nice example of how to selectively apply with the layer mask. A luminosity mask is another good way to restrict this to the highlights. I always hear about this effect for landscapes but, have you tried this with macros? I could see this possibly working with flowers where the center is sharp but the petals are softened with the OE glow. Looking forward to trying this out! Cheers.
