    Dr. Samir V Parikh is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology at Ohio State University. Dr Parikh received his medical degree from the University Of Cincinnati College Of Medicine and completed residency and Nephrology fellowship at Ohio State. He joined the Ohio State University Faculty in 2011. He specializes in the glomerular diseases with a special focus in the management of lupus nephritis, thrombotic microangiopathy and monoclonal gammopathy. He is experienced in hypertension, general nephrology, acute renal failure, and chronic kidney disease management. Dr. Parikh research has focused on uncovering novel biomarkers of disease and optimizing the use of kidney biopsy to inform management decisions in LN. He has authored several manuscripts on these topics. Dr. Parikh is and has been the Principal Investigator on many trials of novel therapeutics for Lupus nephritis and other glomerular diseases. Specifically, Dr. Parikh was the site PI for both Aurinia Phase 1 and 2 LN studies and a co-investigator on the BLISS-LN Study. He is also the author of the Update on Lupus Nephritis: Core Curriculum 2020.
    This channel is the beginning of one of the many initiatives to be undertaken by the Africa Healthcare Network(AHN) in the domain of education, training and research in Nephrology in the African continent.
