Cycling the Mont Ventoux - Tour de France ascent from Bedoin

A 2013 Tour de France recce with the ascent of the Mont Ventoux from Bedoin. A 75km loop starting from Beaumes-de-Venise, with the cycle to Bedoin then the 22km ascent of the Mont Ventoux.
Ridden on Saturday 6th October 2012 with Phil and Big G Waterfield.

I always love coming back to this video. The effort ascending, the beauty and contrasts of the mountain, the iconic weather station gradually coming into view and the wonderful Orbital music which seems so appropriate for this ascent.

Did this climb a couple of weeks ago 2 days befiore the Tour de France passed through. Untill you've done it you cant realise how emotional it is when you reach the top. Probably the hardest thing i've done on a bike. Seriously rewarding.

I was staying outside Beaumes-de-Venise in July of 2012 and did much of this ride except I didn't ascend from Bedoin rather from Malaucene. You were right..absolutely one of my favorite memories on a bike. Hard but rewarding ride.
And to think I almost forgot about that Mistral until I hear your clip.

Bedoin-Mt Ventoux (like Russel did) is the classic - and hard - way up. Well worth doing - but mind the traffic.
