Tell the Whole Story: The Gabrielino-Tongva Nation

All Saints has a “Tell The Whole Story” Land Working Group whose task ultimately is to tell the whole story of the land All Saints Church occupies. The group’s initial task is to do the first stage of reconciliation which is self-examination, and they are still drawing the parameters of what that means. It will include but not be limited to the story of the Gabrielino-Tongva peoples (and perhaps others) who occupied this land and all others until the present. Part of the work will be listening to the stories of the descendants of those who used to be here (and still are), and to the impact of their removal from this land unto today - and we begin this week with Edgar Perez and his story.
