BTW Ocean Bank (www.oceanbank.com) confirmed they open accounts remotely for international clients. As they're FDIC insured (largest independent bank in Florida) this could be a great option.

Hi, we are actually in a situation right now, we have an LLC but we don't have any operations in the USA and now Mercury has restricted our account. We can't receive funds nor make payments and its affecting our business. We have tried to explain our situation but nothing seems to help at the moment. The organization we use for virtual address isn't helping either
Any suggestions on how resolve this will help us a lot.

I would like to share my experience too, because with Bank of America, the fact that I don’t have an SSN or even ITIN, I still got approved for my credit card with BofA, as long as I had an existing bank account with them.
Did they ask for a US address?

Thanks! Which Account do you have with Schwaab? The international one doesn´t state anything about a debit card... but that´s the one you have to take if you select "No" when they ask if you are a resident of the US.
Its not an intuitive page but its there. The brokerage account will have the information of the account if you look for it and also the option to request the debit card in the help section.
I needed ITIN when applying for PayPal, also without SSN to open any physical bank, business or personal account, if have ITIN it's smoother, and less chances of rejection.

Amex is available in many westen countries, like Australia you can just apply from their Australian website

Please clarify, Charles Schwab requires $25k initial deposit or not? You mentioned it's not enforceable. I tried to open a brokerage account with them, filling up the application form and saw that "requirement", so I stopped.
Great content.. Also if you are a non-resident alien.. State National, use the ss4 form from the IRS and get an EIN to use instead of SSN, cheers!

FDIC doesn't mean your money will be instantly reimbursed. There are multiple cases of banks going under and small creditors being hung and dry. And don't forget the Yotta debacle. Also, Relay for instance isn't insured it is Thread Bank that is their backbone.
