- A contestant wins $40,000 on The Price is Right salutes the U.S. Army in 2002 to become the biggest Plinko winner ever, daytime and primetime, a record that was held until May 7, 2008 when someone won $41,000 on it.
So im the one who won and I just love telling my story over and over and over!! This was a great moment in my life and I wish I could go through it again!!
So happy for you!! Thanks for identifying yourself and a big thank you for your dedication to this country! Hope everything is going well for you!!
@@joanwatkins3022 everything is going great! Thank you for your kind words.
@@fredrickran19 So nice to hear from you! What fun memories you have! and you have CZcams to prove it!!
Thank you from my heart for your service to your country, and subsequently all of us as well! It is sooooo cooool that you were able to have this experience!
Bruh, I would be telling this story to any and every person for the rest of my life. You did good, young man.
We went into Iraq one year after this episode. I hope this guy's all right.
WOW way to go Soldier...You DESERVE every penny! My husband's cousin used to tell me that he (true story btw) used to have frequent dreams of being called to come on down, get on stage, play Plinko...Get ALL 5 chip's....And EVERY last one ended up on 0!!!! That's messed up!
Bob Barker has always had a special place in his big heart for the Military. He has always made sure that the audience was filled with them so they could have a chance to come on stage and Win !! Thanks Bob for that !!
Hope He enjoys his winnings, He deserves everything for his service too our country
Do not forget! Drew Carey served in the United States Marine Corps.
Bob Barker was the best!
***** No it doesn't.
He sure was, I agree.
I miss Bob Barker.
Me too.
Every about miss Bob Barker you got to remember he retiring
At the end, he just walked away like a boss.
*****
Why do you talk like a witch?
+Karma Android why are you so rude?
@@Allison-ti5vv Because we don't like it when people make crude comments (although I'm not sure what the deleted comment was).
Thats what you get for serving our country! Thank you sir!
He's no sir. He works for a living.
@@tomboard1 Yup! Enlisted.
Not really. Most Vets sadly get squat. This young man lucked out. Great job Sir! Thank you for your service.
I wish Bob didnt retire! X.X
My Favovrite Price is Right game!!
2:34 I love Rod's voice when he talks the last item!
Bob is the best game show host ever.
Alex Trebek disagrees...
@@tomboard1nah. Bob was #1. Alex was #2.
Well deserved for him!! Although no amount of money can't come close to the amount of bravery these men and women have. Thank you US Army!! You rock!!
Bob Barker and Rod Roddy made an immortal pair.
Great haircut on Ryan!
That's a horrible haircut
I remember watching Plinko as a kid. I freaking love it lol
i actually really miss bob barker. i havent watched this show since he left
+Brandon Jones Ha...I haven't either... Bob was the best.
yeah he was. and its nothing against drew, i actually love drew carey, love the shows hes been in, loved him as the host of whos line is it anyway, but that is bobs show as far as im concerned, and it just wouldnt be the same
bucky468 Sorry, I'm not at all familiar with that incident. I just miss him as the host, I have no idea what he's like as a person. But to your point, I think it would be worth looking into the circumstances of why that individual was let go...pregnant or not, if someone isn't upholding their duties they should be let go.
bucky468 And? Who wants to look at a sexy woman but all you can notice is her belly. They shoulda been fired.
bucky468 Its a proven fact that pregnant women cost companies more then most of their employees combined, thats why im glad paid maternity leave isnt mandatory.
why the fuck am i youtubing old daytime television shows?
what has my life become?
A life that loves to relieve classics !
Jagethemage Could be worse. You could be looking up America's Funniest Home Videos. That was the show that PRECEDED CZcams! Before there was the "Cat Videos" meme, there was AFV. Back then, there was no website to post your videos about your cat. That's what AFV was for!
MonguinAssassin Is AFV still on the air?
+Karma Android It is!!
There was a new host last time I saw it like a month ago and it was really strange though.
I am more amazed the chip balanced than the fact he won 40,000 dollars
so true .....
I miss Bob
Yeah me too, especially Jacob Richardson
He was 15 months into his service at the time. So was I. I can imagine his First Sergeant when he went back to his unit, "Oh you think you Big balla now, PFC? You're gonna knock out one push-up for every dollar you won. now start pushing , Richie Rich!"
Hahahaha, you would think top would've come up with something like that but I was left alone. Thank God.
MISS YOU BOB!!!
Everytime I see Bob Barker hosting this show. It saddens me that he is retired in a way. Though he busted himself hard for his retirement and I will forever wish him much peace and happiness. I cant even watch Drew Carey for more than 5 minutes without changing the channel. Drew does not have that enthusiastic voice that makes a contestant feel like they won, nor does he really focus on the game. I really think they should find someone with more game show material. But Bob is the true legend!!
And Drew dresses like a slob. Bob was an impeccable dresser. He took an interest in every contestant and was funny. Drew is forced, and not funny and a slob.
Yup, Bob is very very passionate for the military. He served in the Navy afterall.
This was the best game show EVER. And the reason I say was is because this show will NEVER be the same without Bob. Doesn't even seem right Bob not coming through those doors at the start of the show.
i love the price is right i use to watch it all the time i watched it when i was younger too.
RIP, Bob Barker, December 12, 1923 to August 26, 2023.
So close to $1.00 without going over…
A toaster and a water filter. Amazing prizes!
Man, times sure were different back in 2002.
And don't forget the crushed ice also. Lol
Bob Barker was a really smooth and professional host, even though you could tell that he didn't give a fuck if you won or lost.
Ahh back when game shows were recorded with potatoes
MAN. Bob Barker is so entertaining to listen to... XD
I miss bob barker
If someone was going to win it no better person to win it than an American Soldier.
Actaually, I've just always been obsessed with the plinky noises, lol
The highest Plinko amount is now only $10K rather than the $20K here. What's up with that?!
First, Marine go through boot camp, second he said basic training wasn't fun even though it's not hard
And he won 40,000 despite only winning 3 out of a possible 5 bonus chips.
Chris Kreager because the middle spot was 20,000 instead of 10,000. If it was the old game it would've been 20000, which would've still been good but not the record.
That man deserves every penny of that.
Wow $40,000 that’s pretty good. Way to go.
Who else plays Cleveland's laugh in their head when the chip falls?
You right about that retirement is great aint it. Ha ha MR. Chess.
I was just telling this story to a clerk at the store today. This guy and I were in the same unit (Dragon team, Operations Group, Ft Irwin) when this happened. The money he won was probably gone in a month. He did a bunch of stupid crap that, for awhile, Blue Falcon'd the rest of us on the team.
I did, please elaborate?
What's your name? You have the unit correct but your allegations are kinda ridiculous lol.
2002. All the Primetime Specials saluting the Armed Forces were in 2002. The Million Dollar Spectaculars didn't come until 2003.
everytime i see bob i always think of happy gilmore
A better way to word it is if you are in the audience, you have a CHANCE to become a contestant
Exactly what i was thinking - best of luck to him!
3:25 dab
Ok it looks like a dab but it’s not thankfully
lol @ Bob saying "bummer"
This video was recorded in Northern Michigan, I recognize the 9&10 News banner
his name reminds me of the movie saving pvt.ryan the movie with tom hanks
Its last appearance was on December 5, 2003. The next time Plinko was played (December 12, 2003) and every subsequent playing, there has been no sign. The given reason was because it was difficult to catch the contestant's reaction and the Plinko sign all at once (and apparently a split-screen was out of the question).
This is the best game in the history of this show...although the Golf Game where Bob ALWAYS sinks the putt is cool too.
Dude, this fulla looks like Chris Evans
i love Bob Parker!!!!! he is my favorite gamehost. i was pretty sad when he retired:(
i wonder what Bob Parker does now. He was awesome!!! :)
I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
neither did bob back in 73 or whenever this game came around, but he adapted and so will drew
The record in terms of performance (adjusting for the raising stakes) is $21,000 in the $25,000 era.
This comment deserves a thumbs up from me.
how can you dislike this
Thats Gods reward for serving the U.S right.
Best Comment on this board!!
My dad used to put nails in a board and attack elastics to them. I used to drop marble down there and i could move the elastics which was cool
Claudia Jordan modeled that $100K Plinko sign BEAUTIFULLY; they need to bring back the sign ($250K for daytime, $500K for nighttime) with *her* in front of it and the horns after the harp sting.
Amen brother
Awesome!
He isn't a Corporal. He's a PFC (Private First Class).
Everyone loves PLINKO.
Escaped from certain doom there, BEAUTIFUL!!
Am i the one that said wth?? When He just walks away while bobs talking to/about him??
This record only counts for nighttime due to a higher cash award. Divide his winnings by 2 (daytime:$50,000 , Nighttime:$100,000) and your only getting 20,000 in daytime terms, so this isn't a daytime record (although $40,000 has never been reached on daytime).
He got two wrong and his heart skipped a beat! Someone save Private Ryan!
@Astrithor Sault Ste. Marie is in both Canada (Ontario) and the U.S. (Michigan).
@mgtoney. No my financial advisor did, then come tax time it was finalized
I'm distracted by the fact that he can't stand still in the beginning.
Well folks this record that was held for six years was just broken last night. A contestant won $41,000 on it on last night's TPIR Million Dollar Spectacular show.
3:11 - just like in Frozen
A video with the vocals would be nice🤦♂️
That guy won't stand still. Makes me nervous!!
I love plinko
Bob Barker should do a cameo in the next big animated film
@btn2271984: many us stations also reach well into canada....some examples include wroc (rochester, ny) which can be watched from belleville and trenton ontario, wivb (buffalo, ny) who has a substantial signal reach into southern ontario, including toronto, and woio (cleveland) also stretches across lake erie to viewers in london ontario....
Video starts at 3:08
This is the greatest comment I've ever seen.
Yeah, thats true I guess. Perhaps cause I among millions am so use to Bob that adapting to drew is hard. But as you said, Drew will adapt. Drew carey is great as a comedian and actor so was Bob. All that to say there is total truth to what you said. Cheers man.
I really wish this video's title would't of blown the surprise
@M0VIES4U2 He may not do the The Price is Right anymore, Nobody will never forget him.
he's still alive!
thumbs up if you saw this after you saw the historic plinko video and was like WTF, THE LAST VIDEO SAID THAT THE PLINKO CHIP HAD NEVER GOTTEN STUCK B4!!
I wonder if anyone has ever done a scientific study (if possible) on the statistical chance of someone going 5 for 5 in the biggest slot, and what the best position on the board is to drop the chip from.
Kerry Taylor Oh, yeah that's easy! There are 9 slots for the disk to fall into, so if you have 5 disks then the chance of landing all 5 disks in one slot would be 9*9*9*9*9, or 9 to the 5th power, or 59,049.
So you've got a 1 in 59,049 chance of going 5-for-5.
Also: The best place to drop the disk is closest to the slot you're aiming for, which would be the center.
+McPFamily mmmm Nope. It's a normal distribution radiating out from the position it's dropped.
You gotta start with that and if you're aiming for the centre slot? well that is 1/9 th of the area under the curve for 5 independent trials. The rest is just looking up the values for standard deviations and doing some basic math.
ahh so someone HAS won over 23k on this plinko machine. just watched an older video that showed top as 23k. Gratz to this person who won 40k.
@kaynos there is a guy off stage showing you where you need to go once the game is over. There is no time to stop and thank anyone. . . Let alone bob! Lol
the late rod Roddy
Anyone noticed the guy just walk by Bob not even thanking him after winning 40k ?
Uuhhh does anyone notice that is says "Maybe 7, 2008 was when someone won $41,000"...but they summited this video January 19, 2008....
@SoulOfSephiroth1 go to the fair, go to the fair, go to the northwest michigan fair!
How come he gets to play for such a great prize.
A little ice crusher thing is $45? WTF
the price is wrong,Bob
@SoulOfSephiroth1
Yes it was. I live there, from Sault Ste. Marie.
Somebody turned the turntable a little early... :P
